Oscar Colas Sent To Triple-A

The Chicago White Sox are sending rookie outfielder Oscar Colas to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday and recalling catcher Carlos Perez from the minors in a corresponding move, according to a source. The White Sox are also expected to recall right-hander Deivi Garcia from Charlotte after claiming him off waivers from the New York Yankees on Aug. 12. Colas will go back down to the farm for the second time this year after really struggling in his first taste of the big leagues in 2023. The 24-year-old Cuban has hit just .216/.257/.314 with five home runs, nine doubles, 19 RBI, four stolen bases and 32 runs scored in 263 trips to the plate over 75 games. With Colas back at Charlotte, expect Gavin Sheets and Trayce Thompson to share playing time in right field in Chicago.

Oscar Colas Returning To The Lineup

Chicago White Sox outfielder Oscar Colas (leg) is back in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees. The 24-year-old was held out of the lineup each of the last two games due to leg soreness. He'll cover right field and bat eighth versus right-hander Ian Hamilton on Wednesday. Colas is slashing .220/.259/.283 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 43 games this season. He should get an extended look down the stretch with the White Sox out of the playoff race.

White Sox Acquire Tyler Naquin

The White Sox acquired veteran outfielder Tyler Naquin from the Brewers in exchange for cash, the teams announced. White Sox Call Up Oscar Colas

The Chicago White Sox called up rookie outfielder Oscar Colas from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, according to sources. He will join the team on Tuesday for the start of a series against the Toronto Blue Jays. The White Sox's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, will get another shot in the big leagues after going off for Charlotte at the plate recently. Overall, he hit .293 (56-for-191) with nine homers, 14 doubles, 29 RBI and 35 runs scored in 48 games after going just 16-for-76 (.211) with a homer and seven RBI in his first 25 major-league contests earlier this year. The 24-year-old left-handed hitter should play regularly in right field for the Pale Hose now that he's back, at least when the team faces a right-hander on the mound. Colas has above-average raw power and should be scooped up off the waiver wire, at least in deep-mixed fantasy leagues.
