  • Jordan Walker Returns To Lineup Tuesday

St. Louis Cardinals outfield prospect Jordan Walker (shoulder) is back in the Grapefruit League lineup on Tuesday against the Houston Astros and right-hander Brandon Bielak. Walker is starting in left field and hitting third in the batting order. Walker strained his right shoulder while sliding head-first in a spring game last Saturday, but the injury was never considered serious and he's back out there Tuesday. The 20-year-old, who is MLB's fourth-ranked prospect in 2023, has been turning heads in camp by hitting .424 (14-for-33) with three doubles, three home runs, seven RBI, seven runs and a stolen base in 11 Grapefruit League games to this point. He's an absolute must-have dynasty/keeper asset this year, and his raw power should make him relevant in mixed leagues as well.

  • Jordan Walker's Injury Isn't Serious

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker (shoulder), MLB's fourth-ranked overall prospect, avoided a serious injury when he suffered a mild strained right shoulder while sliding in spring action on Saturday. Walker took batting practice in the cages on Sunday, and the team is confident he'll be ready to return to the Grapefruit League lineup on Tuesday after an off day on Monday. "I'm good. I actually just did some stretching and stuff and I feel fine," said Walker. The 20-year-old stands at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds and has plenty of raw power with the bat. He's one of the most intriguing and attractive young prospects for fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues, and he also figures to attract attention for his power in mixed leagues in 2023.

  • Jordan Walker Will Hit On Sunday

St. Louis Cardinals outfield prospect Jordan Walker (shoulder) said that he plans to hit on Sunday. "Yeah, I'm going to hit today. I'm not playing today, but I'm going to go to the cages to hit," Walker said. The 20-year-old suffered a strained right shoulder sliding into second base in the Grapefruit League game on Saturday, but he didn't need to undergo an MRI exam. He's expected to return to spring action after Monday's off day. Walker is the team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he's surely played like it in camp. He's hitting .438 (14-for-32) with three home runs, three doubles, seven RBI, seven runs scored and a steal in 10 games. Walker should be considered a top-five dynasty prospect, and his raw power should play in redraft leagues as well once he reaches the majors in 2023.

  • Jordan Walker Day-To-Day With Shoulder Strain

St. Louis Cardinals outfielderJordan Walker (shoulder) was removed from Saturday's game against the Astros due to a right shoulder strain. He is day-to-day and will be re-evaluated on Sunday. Walker was one of the best hitters of the spring thus far, leading MLB in most major offensive categories. The Cardinals' top prospect seemed to be playing his way onto the Opening Day roster with a .429 batting average, three home runs, and seven RBI. There's still time for him to recover before Opening Day, but Sunday should shed some more light on whether he's due to miss any time.

  • Jordan Walker Continues To Hit This Spring

St.Louis Cardinals third base prospect Jordan Walker started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a single on Tuesday versus the Detroit Tigers. Walker, 20, is one of the games top prospects and his hot start to the spring is evidence of that. In his first 24 at-bats, he has hit .417 with five runs, three homers and 10 RBI. Walker is one of the best young sluggers in the game, but with third base taken up by Nolan Arenado, the Cardinals have been playing Walker in both left and right field this spring. Despite his age, Walker appears ready to make an impact in 2023. For now, his best bets for everyday at-bats would be platooning with Lars Nootbaar in right field and also entering the lineup as a designated hitter. Walker has light tower power and would have plenty of RBI opportunities in a stacked Cardinals lineup, if he does indeed break camp with the team. Walker should already have been rostered in dynasty leagues and managers in redrafts leagues will want to keep tabs on his roster status with his ability to be a difference maker in 2023.

  • Tyler O'Neill Targeting Cardinals' Center Field Job

With last year’s trade of Harrison Bader, the Cardinals have less certainty in center field than they have had in a few years. Dylan Carlson got significant playing time there down the stretch and has been seen as the favorite for the job going forward, but he’ll have competition. Tyler O’Neill told reporters, including Lynn…

  • Jordan Walker Set To Compete For Opening Day Spot

St. Louis Cardinals third base prospect Jordan Walker will be given every opportunity to compete for an Opening Day spot this season. Walker, 20, has been a consensus top-10 prospect and has light tower power. With his bat clearly ready to make an impact, Walker will have his first legit chance to show why he has been so highly regarded. Despite being brought up as a third baseman, Walker will be competing for the right field job against Lars Nootbaar with Nolan Arenado securing the hot corner. In Double-A Springfield last season, Walker hit a healthy .306 with 19 dingers and 68 RBI. The 6'5 prospect remains one of the top young hitters in the league and his time could be arriving sooner than expected. Fantasy managers in all formats should be keeping an eye on Walker with his potential to be a Rookie of the Year candidate.
