    Headshot for Shea Langeliers

Oakland A's catcher Shea Langeliers had a solid game in his team's 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. Langeliers is posting solid power numbers this season, hitting .213 with 18 homers, 35 runs, 52 RBI, and four steals across 291 at-bats, making him an excellent option in fantasy at the catcher position.

    Headshot for Shea Langeliers

Oakland Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers hit his 17th home run on Saturday in a 19-8 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Langeliers knocked in three runs on the day and also scored two runs. This marks two consecutive games in which the veteran catcher has homered. On the year, Langeliers is hitting .208 and has 17 home runs, 45 RBI, four stolen bases, and 31 runs scored. He should continue to get the bulk of the playing time behind the plate for the Oakland Athletics.

  • Shea Langeliers Homers, Drives In Three Friday

    Headshot for Shea Langeliers

Oakland Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers went 2-for-4 with a go-ahead two-run home run in a 6-5 win over the Twins on Friday. The home run was his 14th of the season, tied with Adley Rutschman for the most amongst all backstops, and his three RBI gave him 39 on the year. The former first-round draft pick is coming off a season in which he blasted 22 home runs on the back of a 13.3% Barrel%, and is currently on pace to blow past that number with his 17.1% (97th percentile) Barrel%. The 26-year-old doesn't hit for average as his current .207 BA is actually better than his BA from a season ago (.205). For what it's worth, Langeliers is batting .276 over his last eight games, which for him would be considered a hot stretch.

  • Shea Langeliers, Zack Gelof Sitting Against Twins

    Headshot for Zack Gelof

Oakland Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers, second baseman Zack Gelof and outfielder Seth Brown are all getting the day off on Saturday against the hosting Minnesota Twins. Kyle McCann is behind the plate and hitting eighth, Abraham Toro is at second base and batting leadoff, and Daz Cameron is in right field and hitting seventh against Twins right-hander Bailey Ober. Langeliers is hitting just .204 on the year but has been heating up of late and has a useful 13 homers and 35 RBI from the catcher position. Gelof is hitting just .188 in 2024 and went 0-for-6 with three K's in the first two games of the series in Minnesota. Brown is also hitting .188 on the year with five homers and 14 RBI. With Toro moving over to the keystone on Saturday, J.D. Davis will draw into the lineup at third base and will bat sixth for Oakland.

  • Shea Langeliers Sitting On Friday

    Headshot for Shea Langeliers

Oakland Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Fantasy managers don't need to panic as this appears to be a routine rest day for Langeliers. In his absence, Kyle McCann will cover behind the plate and bat sixth versus right-hander Reynaldo Lopez. McCann has been solid with the bat during his time in Oakland but isn't a great streaming option for Friday's game.

  • Tyler Nevin, Shea Langeliers Resting On Thursday

    Headshot for Shea Langeliers

Oakland Athletics first baseman Tyler Nevin and catcher Shea Langeliers are both getting a day off on Thursday in Houston against the Astros. Tyler Soderstrom will start at first base and bat cleanup, while Kyle McCann is doing the catching and will bat fifth against Astros right-hander Cristian Javier. Nevin had a nice little run in April but has gone 3-for-39 so far in the month of May, which has given Soderstrom more chances at first base. Soderstrom, meanwhile, has taken advantage by going 6-for-19 with a homer and three RBI in just six games played. This will be a regular off day for the 26-year-old Langeliers in a matinee affair. Langeliers has been much better in May, going 13-for-42 (.310) with three home runs and 11 RBI in 12 games to raise his season slash line to .218/.272/.496. McCann will be a DFS sleeper at catcher while he carries a .351 average (13-for-37) on the year with three home runs and eight RBI in just 15 games played.

Langeliers it hitting .212 with nine home runs, 24 RBI, and 16 runs so far this year. This appears to be just a maintenance day off for Langeliers, who is hitting .333 with three home runs and 11 RBI in May thus far. • Shea Langeliers Knocks In Five Runs

    Headshot for Shea Langeliers

Oakland Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers was a force at the plate during Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers. The young catcher went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in the victory during Game 1 of their doubleheader. Langeliers blasted a two-run home run off Michael Lorenzen in the second inning before adding a two-run double in the fourth inning. The assumption is that Langeliers should be back in the lineup ahead of Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader. The 26-year-old has struggled throughout most of the season but maybe this will get him back on track.

  • Tyler Nevin, Shea Langeliers Sitting On Tuesday

    Headshot for Shea Langeliers

Oakland Athletics corner infielder/outfielder Tyler Nevin and catcher Shea Langeliers are both starting on the bench on Tuesday against the visiting Texas Rangers. Despite his recent slump, the 26-year-old is still slashing a solid .277/.349/.426 on the year with four home runs, 10 RBI, a steal and 11 runs scored in 94 at-bats for the A's. Langeliers will get the day off in a day game after a night game. He's hitting just .179 (19-for-106) on the year but has shown nice power with seven homers and 16 RBI in the early going. Brett Harris is starting at third base and batting ninth, while Kyle McCann is doing the catching and hitting sixth for the A's on Tuesday against Rangers right-hander Jose Urena.
