  • Miguel Vargas Optioned To Minors

The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned rookie third baseman Miguel Vargas to the minors on Monday with third baseman Justin Turner (abdomen) on track to return from the injured list on Tuesday. Vargas, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, only appeared in two games for the Dodgers after being called up. He managed to go 2-for-8 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in those two games, but he'll head back to Triple-A Oklahoma City with Turner ready to return. The 22-year-old can also play third base and first base and was hitting a strong .291/.382/.497 with an .880 OPS, 15 home runs, 72 RBI, 81 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 94 games at Oklahoma City before his first big-league call-up. Vargas has great bat-to-ball skills and is starting to show his raw power from the right-handed side of the plate.

  • Miguel Vargas Has Strong Debut

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Miguel Vargas made his debut in the big leagues on Wednesday night, slotting in as the designated hitter in the seventh spot in the lineup. He had a strong game, going 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and a stolen base. It remains to be seen how much playing time Vargas will receive going forward, but his .291/.382/.497 slash line with 15 homers and 12 steals at Triple-A this season suggests that he has the ability to make an all-around contribution at some point, and fantasy managers in keeper and dynasty formats should look to add him off the waiver wire.

  • Dodgers Select Miguel Vargas' Contract

The Los Angeles Dodgers selected the contract of infielder Miguel Vargas on Tuesday. One of the organization's best prospects, the 22-year-old has spent the 2022 season at Triple-A so far, batting .291 with a .382 on-base percentage, 15 home runs, and 12 stolen bases in 437 plate appearances. Vargas has seen most of his time at third base in the minors, but has also started games at second base and first base this season, as well as in left field. He's certainly someone fantasy managers should be looking to add off the waiver wire in dynasty leagues.

  • Miguel Vargas Won't Slow Down In Triple-A

Los Angeles Dodgers infield/outfield prospect Miguel Vargas continues to swing a hot bat for Triple-A Oklahoma City. On Wednesday, Vargas went 1-for-5 with his 14th longball of the season. Vargas has been the talk of town in regards to minor league players this year and is now hitting .293 with 14 homers and 68 RBI. Despite his impressive season, the Dodgers big-league squad is too talented at the moment and Vargas is unlikely to make an impact without an injury. With less than a week to go until the trade deadline, if Vargas were to be dealt, his value in redraft leagues would improve greatly. For now, he is worth monitoring in redraft leagues and should be rostered in dynasty leagues.

  • Miguel Vargas Looks To Continue Success In Second Half

Los Angeles Dodgers infield/outfield prospect Miguel Vargas had a great first half for Triple-A Oklahoma City and will look to continue that success in the second half of the season. On the season, Vargas has hit .295 with 13 homers, 64 RBI and 21 doubles. Opening the season as an infielder, Vargas' success at the plate has led to him learning the outfield recently for Oklahoma City. With the Dodgers big-league squad stacked, Vargas learning a new position helps with his versatility and possible arrival if an injury were to occur at any position for the Dodgers. Vargas would likely be in the big leagues on another franchise, but for now, he remains an upside stash in redraft leagues and should be rostered in dynasty leagues. If promoted, Vargas should be rostered in all formats.

  • Miguel Vargas Reaches Base Five Times On Tuesday

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Miguel Vargas had a fantastic game at Triple-A on Tuesday as his Oklahoma City Dodgers routed the Tacoma Rainiers 15-4. He went 2-for-3 with a double, three walks and three runs scored in the game. Vargas' name has come up as a potential call-up for the Dodgers lately both because he's in the midst of an exceptional season and because of the recent injury to Chris Taylor (foot). The team wound up calling up Zach McKinstry to take Taylor's roster spot, but Vargas could be the next man up if the Dodgers suffer another injury or need another bat. While his primary position is third base, the 22-year-old has also played in the outfield this year. Over 83 games at Triple-A, he's slashed .296/.384/.499 with 13 home runs, nine stolen bases, 61 RBI and 71 runs.

  • Miguel Vargas Makes Futures Game

Los Angeles Dodgers infield prospect Miguel Vargas has made the Futures Game roster. It's no surprise with Vargas performing at an elite level for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The infielder has been adding to his versatility lately with action in left field and that could help ascend him to a stacked Dodgers big-league roster at some point in 2022. For the season, Vargas is hitting .291 with 13 homers, 59 RBI and nine stolen bases. As a player that can do it all and would be entering an All-Star Dodgers lineup, he is absolutely worth stashing in redraft leagues and should already be rostered in dynasty leagues. If it weren't for his competition at the big-league level, Vargas would arguably be in the majors already with not much left to prove down on the farm.

  • Miguel Vargas Continues To Hit In Triple-A

Los Angeles Dodgers infield prospect Miguel Vargas went 1-for-3 with two runs, one RBI, two walks and a strikeout on Tuesday for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The versatile infielder continues to have an impressive season and is now hitting .311 with seven home runs, 28 RBI and four stolen bases to go along with a notable .934 OPS. The 22-year-old has also shown discipline at the plate with 30 walks and 30 strikeouts. Perhaps the biggest issue for Vargas is the fact that the Dodgers have an All-Star team at the big-league level. Needing an injury to likely get the call to the Dodgers, Vargas' quickest ascension could be if he is dealt by the club. For now, Vargas is a name for dynasty managers to monitor, but he would be an intriguing addition in redraft leagues if an injury or trade occurs.
