    Despite a strong showing in the Grapefruit League, the New York Yankees have reassigned outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez to minor league camp. The 20-year-old hit an impressive .455 with four homers and nine RBI in just 22 at-bats. Despite his strong showing, the Yankees are opting to give the youngster some more seasoning on the farm. One of the top prospects in the game, Dominguez has shown true five tool potential and should be rostered in dynasty leagues. Managers in redraft leagues should remember the name, but he may not see a promotion to the show in 2023.

    New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez is living up to all of the hype in spring training this year. Dominguez just turned 20 years old last month but hit his fourth Grapefruit League home run on Saturday. The switch-hitting center fielder has plenty of power, but he's maturing before the Yankees' eyes in camp. He's quickly becoming one of the highest-ceiling prospects in all of baseball with a five-tool pedigree. Dominguez is looking very comfortable in spring training, but even with Harrison Bader (oblique) likely to miss Opening Day, it's unlikely Dominguez starts the season in the big leagues. After all, he's played in only five Double-A games. He needs to be stashed in all dynasty leagues, and he'll be fantasy relevant in all single-year leagues whenever he makes his MLB debut.

The switch-hitting outfielder will get his first taste of major league spring training action as a non-roster invitee. Dominguez is one of the top prospects in baseball, but isn't expected to play in the MLB this season. The 20-year-old will likely begin the season in Double-A. It seems unlikely that the Yankees are going to rush Dominguez to the big leagues, so 2024 is a better timetable for his MLB debut.

  • Jasson Dominguez Likely To Spend Another Year In Minors

    New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez was invited to big-league spring training this year, but he just turned 20 years old and likely has at least one more year in the minors before he makes his major-league debut. However, the Yankees think he has the potential to be a cornerstone player when he eventually makes it to the Bronx. Dominguez was ranked by MLB Pipeline as the team's No. 2 prospect last year, behind only shortstop Anthony Volpe. He hit a combined .273/.376/.461 with 16 home runs and 37 stolen bases in 120 games with Low-A Tampa, High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset in 2022. Dominguez has high-end potential, but he has plenty of maturing to do and needs to improve his defense.
