  • Andrew Vaughn Reinstated, Lucas Giolito To COVID Injured List

The Chicago White Sox activated outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) from the 10-day injured list on Friday. In a corresponding move, starting pitcher Lucas Giolito was placed on the COVID-19 injured list. Giolito reportedly began experiencing symptoms earlier this week and the expectation is that he will be able to return to the team at some point next week. Vaughn, meanwhile, had been out since late April due to a bruised right hand. He played in two rehab games at Triple-A and homered twice in the second of the two games. We expect him to be in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Gerrit Cole and the New York Yankees.

  • Andrew Vaughn Homers Twice At Triple-A On Thursday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) had a big game at the plate in his second rehab game at Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday. He went 2-for-3 with two home runs, two walks and three runs scored in the game. Vaughn is eligible to return from the injured list any day now, and after Thursday's performance, we'd expect his return to be very soon. The 24-year-old has been on the shelf since late April due to a bruised hand. He was swinging the bat well prior to the injury, with four home runs and a .283/.367/.566 slash line over 16 games.

  • Andrew Vaughn Not Expected To Be Activated Thursday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) is not expected to be activated from the injured list on Thursday in time for the game against the New York Yankees on the first day that he's eligible to return. Vaughn has been sidelined since May 2 due to a bruised hand, but he will get a few more minor league rehab at-bats with Triple-A Charlotte before rejoining the team this weekend. The 24-year-old right-handed hitter will return to being an everyday outfielder for the White Sox when he's eventually activated. Vaughn was slashing .283/.367/.566 with a .933 OPS, four home runs, 12 RBI and five runs scored in 16 games before landing on the injured list. If he's somehow available on your league's waiver wire, scoop him up now.

  • Andrew Vaughn Goes 0-For-4 In First Rehab Game

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) played in his first rehab game at Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday. He slotted in at designated hitter and struggled at the plate, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout. Vaughn has been out since April 29 due to a bruised right hand. The White Sox haven't revealed their intentions for Vaughn's rehab assignment, but assuming he can avoid any setbacks, there's a chance we'll see him make his return by the end of the weekend, or early next week at the latest. The 24-year-old has slashed .283/.367/.566 with four home runs and 12 RBI over 16 games in the majors this year.

  • Andrew Vaughn Sent To Triple-A For Rehab Assignment

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) is headed to Triple-A Charlotte to begin a rehab assignment. He will play in his first rehab game on Wednesday. There is no set number of games for him at this point. Vaughn is dealing with a bruised right hand and he's been out since April 29, but he is clearly improving. He took batting practice on Tuesday before being sent on his rehab assignment. Assuming he has no setbacks, there's a chance we could see him back with the team at some point this weekend.

  • Andrew Vaughn Has A Successful Workout On Monday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) went through a workout on Monday. White Sox general manager Rick Hahn stated that Vaughn "had a good day" in reference to the workout. Vaughn has been out since April 29 due to a bruised right hand. He is first eligible to come off the 10-day injured list this coming Thursday. White Sox beat writer Daryl Van Schouwen stated that it may be a stretch to expect Vaughn to return when first eligible, suggesting that a brief rehab stint may be in store. Hahn withheld any timeline updates on Vaughn, but said that the team would see what the "next 48 hours brings."

  • White Sox Place Andrew Vaughn On Injured List

The Chicago White Sox officially placed outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a bruised right hand and recalled infielder Danny Mendick from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. The injured list stint is retroactive to May 2. It's yet another injury blow to the White Sox. The 24-year-old hasn't played since he was hit on the hand by a pitch last Friday, but he could wind up missing just one more week. AJ Pollock will benefit the most in Chicago with regular playing time in left field, while Gavin Sheets and Adam Engel will continue to split time in right field. Vaughn should remain stashed in all fantasy leagues, as he was hitting a very respectable .283/.367/.566 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 16 games before suffering his hand injury.

  • Andrew Vaughn Expected To Be Placed On Injured List

Chicago White Sox outfielder/first baseman Andrew Vaughn (hand) will "most probably" be placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's series opener against the Boston Red Sox. He's been sidelined since last Friday after being hit in the hand by a pitch. It's unclear exactly how much time Vaughn will miss. X-rays came back negative on Vaughn's hand, and he remains day-to-day. The 24-year-old is slashing .283/.367/.566 with four home runs, 12 RBI, and five runs scored over 16 games in 2022. Adam Engel and Gavin Sheets should see an increase in playing time while Vaughn is sidelined.

  • Andrew Vaughn Sidelined Again On Tuesday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) is not in the starting lineup once again for Tuesday's game against Scott Effross and the Chicago Cubs. This will be the fourth consecutive missed game for Vaughn, who was hit by a pitch in his right hand on Friday. AJ Pollock will get his fourth consecutive start in left field on Tuesday while Gavin Sheets and Adam Engel remain in the lineup as well. X-rays on Vaughn's hand came back negative and he remains day-to-day. We'll see if he's able to return to action for the series finale on Wednesday.

  • Andrew Vaughn Remains Out Monday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) remains out of the starting lineup on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels. Vaughn was hit by a pitch in his right hand on Friday and hasn't played since, but X-rays came back negative, so he remains day-to-day. The 24-year-old slugger has been able to swing a bat since the injury, so there's a good chance he will be back for the team's next game, and he could even be available to pinch hit on Monday. With Vaughn out again, AJ Pollock is back in left field and is hitting third in the lineup against Angels left-hander Patrick Sandoval. Pollock is in a great spot to produce in the batting order, but he's just 7-for-30 and is still searching for his first home run of the year in his first nine games for the Sox.

  • White Sox Hope Andrew Vaughn Can Return Monday

Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa said that outfielder Andrew Vaughn's hand is still a little sore, but he's been swinging a bat and could pinch hit in the series finale on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels. The White Sox are hoping Vaughn can return to the lineup on Monday. The 24-year-old was hit by a pitch on his right hand on Friday, and although X-rays came back negative, he will miss the final two games of the series. AJ Pollock is in left field again on Sunday and is hitting sixth against Angels right-hander Michael Lorenzen. Gavin Sheets is in right field and is batting fifth. Vaughn is a nice source of power when healthy, and he's gone 15-for-53 with four home runs and 12 RBI in his first 16 games this season.

  • Andrew Vaughn X-Rays Came Back Negative

Chicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. He was removed from Friday's game after getting hit by a pitch on his right hand. Luckily, the X-rays came back negative, so hopefully Vaughn can avoid a trip to the injured list. As of right now, fantasy managers should assume Vaughn is day-to-day until further notice. He is off to a hot start at the plate, so fantasy managers should be patient through his hand injury.

  • Andrew Vaughn Will DH On Friday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth on Opening Day on Friday against Detroit Tigers left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. Vaughn dealt with a hip pointer injury in camp but will be good to go for the first regular season game on Friday. The 24-year-old returned to spring action on Monday and could see some starts at third base early in the season with Yoan Moncada out three weeks with a Grade 1 oblique strain. Vaughn won't have a ton of DFS upside in the nine-hole, but he's an intriguing up-and-coming young bat with plenty of power potential in a string White Sox lineup.

  • White Sox OF Vaughn recovering from hip pointer

Andrew Vaughn feared the worst when he got hurt making a diving catch for the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. Same for his team, which is looking for the slugger to play a key role this year.

  • Andrew Vaughn Resumes Swinging

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) resumed swinging a bat on Wednesday. Vaughn is dealing with a hip-pointer injury that is expected to keep him out for one to two weeks, and while it's good news that he's swinging a bat, it remains to be seen if he'll be ready by Opening Day next week. But the 23-year-old should be ready to go before long, even if he isn't in the starting lineup for the first regular season game. Vaughn had his ups and downs in his rookie season in 2021 and hit only .235 with 101 strikeouts in 469 plate appearances, but he also recorded 15 home runs, 48 RBI and 56 runs scored in 127 games and should be a lineup regularly in an up-and-coming White Sox lineup.

  • Andrew Vaughn Out 1-2 Weeks With Hip Pointer

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) has been diagnosed with a hip pointer injury, or bruised pelvis, and is currently projected to return to game action in the next one to two weeks. Vaughn was carted off the field during a Cactus League game on Sunday after he made a diving catch in the fourth inning. The 23-year-old could begin the regular season on the injured list, but he appears to have avoided a long-term absence to kick off the 2022 campaign. He had his ups and downs in his rookie season last year, but Vaughn is still a fine late-round target with four-category upside in a strong White Sox lineup.

  • Andrew Vaughn Dealing With Hip Discomfort

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) left the Cactus League game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers with right hip discomfort. Vaughn had to be carted off the field after making a diving catch in the fourth inning. It's usually not good when a player is carted off the field, but the actual severity of his injury is unknown. The 29-year-old is hitting .429 through his first six games of spring training action and was set to be a nice late-round target in fantasy drafts. Vaughn struggled against right-handed pitching in his rookie year and hit .235/.309/.396 with 15 home runs, 48 RBI and 56 runs in 469 plate appearances. But he has plenty of power and the potential to be a four-category contributor in his sophomore season, if healthy.
