  • Marco Luciano Begins Rehab Assignment

San Francisco Giants shortstop Marco Luciano (back), the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, started his rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Thursday. Luciano has been out since suffering a lower back strain in June. The No. 8 overall prospect in all of baseball was hitting .288/.360/.507 with eight home runs and 17 RBI in 40 games for High-A Eugene before he landed on the injured list. In his first rehab game on Thursday, he went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. The 20-year-old has plus power at the plate and an above-average arm at shortstop. Barring a setback, he should return to action at Eugene before long.

  • Marco Luciano Continues Success In High-A

San Francisco Giants shortstop prospect Marco Luciano continues to swing a hot bat for High-A Eugene. The talented shortstop went 2-for-5 on Thursday and homered for his second consecutive contest. For the season, Luciano is now hitting a cool .300 with six home runs, 13 RBI and a .896 OPS. Despite starting the season in High-A, there is a good chance that Luciano can move up the ladder before the season is over. The shortstop has a lightning quick swing and power to his game, but just has to work on his plate discipline. With as high of an upside as any prospect in the game, dynasty managers should continue to keep a strong eye on one of the games top prospects.
