  • Gavin Lux Has Successful Knee Surgery

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Gavin Lux's (knee) surgery on Wednesday "went well," according to manager Dave Roberts. In addition to suffering a torn right ACL in a Cactus League game on Feb. 27, Lux's surgery confirmed the damage to his LCL was "more than a sprain." The 25-year-old will miss the entire 2023 season, so fantasy managers in single-year leagues can avoid him. In his absence and with former shortstop Trea Turner in Philadelphia, Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor are expected to split time at the position, with Rojas being the primary option at the 6.

  • Gavin Lux Will Miss 2023 Season Due To Torn ACL

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced this morning that infielder Gavin Lux suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during yesterday’s Cactus League game and will miss the 2023 season (Twitter thread via Juan Toribio of MLB.com). Lux also sustained damage to his right knee’s LCL. He’ll undergo surgery on March 7. Lux, 25, was…

  • Gavin Lux Diagnosed With Torn ACL

Los Angeles Dodgers promising young shortstop Gavin Lux (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the Cactus League game against the San Diego Padres on Monday, according to manager Dave Roberts. The unfortunate injury is expected to sideline Lux for the entire 2023 season. Reports had been circulating Tuesday morning that Lux was expected to miss significant time, and now we know he won't play at all this year, which will likely force Miguel Rojas into starting shortstop duties for the Blue to begin the 2023 campaign. Lux also suffered damage to his LCL and will require surgery on his knee. Rojas, who the Dodgers acquired from the Miami Marlins in the offseason, is a significant offensive downgrade from Lux at the 6.

  • Gavin Lux Headed For MRI After Knee Injury

Dodgers shortstop Gavin Lux injured his right knee during this afternoon’s Cactus League game against the Padres (video provided by SportsNet LA). While running from second to third base on a Luke Williams grounder, Lux stumbled trying to avoid a throw from San Diego third baseman Jantzen Witte. A visibly disappointed Lux was helped onto a cart and…

  • Gavin Lux Carted Off The Field Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Gavin Lux (leg) had to be carted off the field on Monday during the team's Cactus League game against the San Diego Padres, and he wasn't putting any weight on his right leg. Lux went down near third base after hitting the base awkwardly as the Padres third baseman turned a double play. This didn't look good, but we'll have more information on the 25-year-old when it becomes available. Lux was set to be the starting shortstop in 2023 after Trea Turner left in free agency, so an extended absence could be troublesome for the Dodgers up the middle to begin the season. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Lux's injury prognosis in the coming days. If he's forced to miss significant time, the Dodgers could use Miguel Rojas at the 6.

  • Gavin Lux Has More Bat Speed

Los Angeles Dodgers middle infielder Gavin Lux has shown more bat speed after working on his swing mechanics at Driveline during the offseason. Lux hit fewer fly balls in 2022 and finished terribly due to neck and back issues, but overall it was a solid season, as he finished with a .276/.346/.399 slash line, career-high .745 OPS, six home runs, 42 RBI, 66 runs scored and career-high seven stolen bases in 471 plate appearances and 129 games played. Perhaps his better bat speed will lead to an increase in fly balls and more home runs, but at the very least, Lux should provide fantasy managers with a nice hit tool with decent speed on the base paths in his move to the full-time starting shortstop job in LA in 2023. RotoBaller has the 25-year-old ranked as the No. 52 fantasy middle infielder.
