Kyle Wright To Make Spring Debut Monday
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Kyle Wright (shoulder) said he's scheduled to make his Grapefruit League debut on Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Wright has faced hitters in spring training, but this will be his first time getting into a game. The 27-year-old needed a cortisone injection in his right shoulder back in January and has been brought along slowly in camp. As long as he doesn't have a setback in the next couple weeks, he should be ready to go for Opening Day. Wright had a league-leading 21 wins last year in a breakout campaign and has become a solid starting target in fantasy leagues heading into the 2023 regular season.

Kyle Wright To Make Spring Debut Next Week
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Kyle Wright (shoulder) threw two innings on the back fields at camp on Wednesday and will make the first of two Grapefruit League starts next week and then make his final tune-up against minor-leaguers after the Braves leave camp. He's currently lined up to make his 2023 debut against the St. Louis Cardinals on the road between April 3-5. Wright required a cortisone injection back in January for a shoulder injury and has been brought along slowly in spring training, but he appears to be on track to go early in the year, barring a setback within the next couple of weeks. The 27-year-old right-hander broke out last year for Atlanta and fantasy managers, and even if he does see some regression in 2023, he should be a solid fantasy starter.

Kyle Wright Could Make Spring Debut Next Week
Atlanta Braves right-hander Kyle Wright (shoulder) will throw a side session on Tuesday and live batting practice on Friday, and he could make his Grapefruit League debut next week. It sets him up to make three spring starts before Opening Day. Wright could make another start against minor-leaguers and then be lined up for the second series of the regular season against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 27-year-old is being in camp after needing a cortisone injection in his shoulder in January. Wright broke out for Atlanta in 2022 with a league-high 21 wins, career-best 3.19 ERA (3.58 FIP), 1.16 WHIP and 174 strikeouts in 180 1/3 innings (30 starts). Some regression could be in store, but Wright should still be considered a very solid fantasy starter.

The Braves' Fifth Starter Competition
Coming off a 101-win campaign, the Braves again look like one of the top teams in the National League. There aren’t many areas of concern on the roster. On the position player side, all but shortstop and left field have established solutions who should play at somewhere between an above-average and star level if healthy.…

Atlanta Braves right-hander Kyle Wright (shoulder) said he "felt really good" after his first bullpen session of spring training on Friday. Wright ended up throwing 23 fastballs. The 27-year-old entered camp behind the other pitchers due to a right shoulder injury that required an injection last month. It's unknown if he'll be ready for the start of the regular season, but there's still a chance he could be if he doesn't experience any setbacks in Grapefruit League play. Wright proved himself in 2022 and developed into a solid mid-rotation starter for the Braves and fantasy managers by going 21-5 with a 3.19 ERA (3.58 FIP), 1.16 WHIP and career-high 23.6 percent strikeout rate in a career-high 180 1/3 innings over 30 starts.

Kyle Wright To Throw Bullpen On Friday
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Kyle Wright (shoulder) is still scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Friday. Wright completed a short box bullpen (catcher moved up) this week and didn't suffer any setbacks. The 27-year-old right-hander reported to spring training behind the other pitchers in camp after requiring a cortisone injection in his shoulder in January. Wright will be delayed as far as his schedule goes in the Grapefruit League, but barring a setback with his shoulder, he has a chance to be ready for Opening Day. He definitely had some good luck in 2022, but the extreme ground-ball pitcher is a solid fantasy starter and is ranked just inside the top 40 fantasy starting pitchers by RotoBaller.

Kyle Wright Expects To Be Ready For Opening Day
Atlanta Braves right-hander Kyle Wright (shoulder) halted his normal offseason preparations for three weeks in January when he received a cortisone injection for a right shoulder injury. Wright has felt much better after the injection, though, even if he's slightly behind scheduled in spring training. The Braves have mapped out a plan for Wright to be ready for the start of the season, but he's still unlikely to make any Grapefruit League starts in the first couple weeks of action. The 27-year-old will likely need to make at least three spring starts in order to be ready on time. The former fifth overall pick was the only 20-game winner in baseball in 2022, which was great to see after he entered 2022 with a 6.56 ERA through 14 career MLB starts. Wright did it by ditching a slider for a curveball, while also making his two-seam sinker his second most-used pitch. He's RotoBaller's No. 39-ranked fantasy starter entering 2023.
