    Headshot for Jimmy Lambert

The White Sox announced three moves today, including the placement of outfielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list.  Robert is suffering from a “mild” left MCL sprain, and the IL stint will officially send his 2023 season.  Tyler Naquin’s contract has been selected from Triple-A to take Robert’s spot on the active roster,…

  • Luis Robert Jr.'s Season Over Due To MCL Sprain

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (knee) will miss the rest of the 2023 regular season due to a mild MCL sprain in his left knee that will put him on the injured list. The White Sox are bringing up Tyler Naquin from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Fantasy managers that invested in Robert at a relatively low cost have to be thrilled at how his season turned out in 2023. The 26-year-old Cuban managed to play in over 100 games for the first time in his career and slashed .264/.315/.542 with an .857 OPS and career-highs in home runs (38), doubles (36), RBI (80), stolen bases (20) and runs scored (90) in 145 total games and 595 plate appearances.

  • Luis Robert Jr.'s Season Could Be Over

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (knee) could be headed to the injured list with outfielder Tyler Naquin expected to join the team this week from Triple-A Charlotte. Robert, who has played in 145 games this year, left Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox with a sore left knee, although it's not believed to be serious. However, with less than a week in the 2023 season, Robert would miss the rest of the year if he goes on the injured list. The 26-year-old has had a breakout season for the Pale Hose this year, slashing .264/.315/.542 with an .857 OPS while setting career-highs in home runs (38), doubles (36), RBI (80), stolen bases (20) and runs scored (90) in 595 plate appearances as a first-time All-Star.

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (quadriceps) is back in center field and is batting in the three-hole for the White Sox on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals and right-hander Jordan Lyles. Robert missed the last four games due to cramping in his right quadriceps muscle, but he's back in there now and should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups ASAP, even though he's hitting .167 in 12 career at-bats against Lyles with a solo home run. The 26-year-old Cuban slugger has managed to stay mostly healthy in 2023 and has produced a breakout season for fantasy managers, slashing .271/.324/.559 with an .882 OPS, 35 home runs, 71 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 81 runs scored in 487 at-bats.

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (quadriceps) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals. The 26-year-old Robert must be returned to all starting fantasy lineups whenever he returns for Chicago. He's in the midst of a breakout year in 2023, hitting .272/.324/.560 with an .884 OPS, 35 home runs, 71 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 81 runs scored in 486 at-bats.

The 26-year-old Cuban is in the midst of a breaking season in 2023, so hopefully he'll be back in there soon. Robert is currently slashing .272/.324/.560 with an .884 OPS, 35 home runs, 71 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 81 runs scored in 486 at-bats.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (quadriceps) was scratched from Sunday's starting lineup against the visiting Detroit Tigers for the second straight day due to cramping in his right quadriceps muscle. Oscar Colas will start in right field for the Pale Hose and hit eighth against Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal. For now, fantasy managers must consider Robert day-to-day and check back on Monday to see if he's available for the start of a series against the Royals in Kansas City. The 26-year-old slugger has been a must-start in fantasy lineups all year during his breakout season. Robert has set career-highs across the board in 128 games played (532 plate appearances) with a .272 average (132-for-486) with 35 home runs, 33 doubles, a triple, 71 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 81 runs scored.

  • Luis Robert Jr. Back In Action For White Sox

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (finger) has returned to the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs and right-hander Kyle Hendricks. Robert is playing center field and is in the three-hole in Chicago's lineup. Due to a sprained right pinkie finger, the White Sox held Robert out all weekend in a series against the Milwaukee Brewers. But now that he's back, fantasy managers will want to get him back in their starting lineups in all formats. The 26-year-old has really made his fantasy managers happy in 2023 with a .271/.325/.563 slash line, .889 OPS, 31 home runs, 65 RBI, 16 stolen bases and 74 runs scored in 113 games in what has been a true breakout campaign.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (finger) is still unable to play on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Robert sprained his right pinkie finger in Wednesday's contest against the New York Yankees and hasn't played since. Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (finger) remains out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The 26-year-old suffered a sprained right pinkie during Wednesday's game. It doesn't appear to be a long term issue, but Robert has been out of the lineup since leaving early on Wednesday. For now, fantasy managers should consider him as day-to-day, but his status could change. Oscar Colas will cover center field and bat eighth versus right-hander Brandon Woodruff on Saturday.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (finger) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The hope is that Robert will be able to return at some point during the weekend series. In the meantime, Trayce Thompson will cover center field and bat seventh versus right-hander Corbin Burnes on Friday.

  • Luis Robert Jr. Day-To-Day With Sprained Pinkie

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (finger) was removed from Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees with a sprained pinkie finger on his right hand. X-rays came back negative and he's listed as day-to-day. Before leaving prematurely, Robert went 1-for-1 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases before being replaced in center field by Trayce Thompson. The White Sox have a scheduled off day on Thursday before beginning a series on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers, so it's possible Robert won't miss any time at all. The 26-year-old Cuban slugger is in the midst of a true breakout season in 2023, slugging 31 home runs, driving in 65, stealing 14 bases and scoring 74 runs in 112 games. Robert has been a must-start in all fantasy leagues.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hand) was removed early during Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees. The 26-year-old appears to have possibly suffered a right hand injury while sliding into third base during a steal attempt. The team lifted Robert for a defensive replacement in the fourth inning. Possibly, the White Sox are just taking the cautious approach with their young slugger. Fantasy managers should get another update on his status shortly.

Robert was selected to his first All-Star team this year and has been the White Sox's best hitter this season. He's currently batting .267 (109-for-408) with a career-highs across the board in home runs (29), doubles (29), RBI (60), stolen bases (12) and runs scored (70) through 446 plate appearances and 106 games played. He's been a bit more slugging of late, though, going 7-for-30 with a homer, four doubles, three RBI, one steal and four runs scored in his last eight games.

  • Luis Robert Jr. Ready To Go For Start Of Second Half

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (calf) is back in the team's lineup on Friday against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Charlie Morton for the start of the second half of the season. Robert is starting in center field and batting third. It's good to see after he didn't play in Tuesday's All-Star game after tweaking his right calf during the Home Run Derby on Monday. The 25-year-old is now fine to start the second half of the season after getting some much-needed time off to rest this week. Robert has been a must-start in all single-year fantasy leagues in 2023, slashing .271/.330/.569 with an .899 OPS, 26 home runs, 51 RBI, eight stolen bases and 62 runs scored in 339 at-bats. If he can remain healthy, this year will easily be his best in the big leagues, if it isn't already.

  • Luis Robert Jr. To Skip All-Star Game Due To Sore Calf

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (calf) will skip Tuesday's All-Star game in Seattle as a precaution after feeling tightness in his right calf during the first round of Monday's Home Run Derby. Robert had an MRI exam in Seattle and is being listed as day-to-day. He will be evaluated again before the second half of the season starts for the White Sox on Friday on the road against the Atlanta Braves. Hopefully this doesn't turn into something that will put the 25-year-old on the injured list to begin the second half, but it doesn't sound too serious. The Cuban slugger made the All-Star team for the first time in his career in 2023 by hitting .271 (92-for-339) with a career-high 26 home runs, 23 doubles, 51 RBI, eight stolen bases and 62 runs scored in 375 trips to the plate. He's a must-start in all fantasy lineups if he's ready to play this weekend.

  • Luis Robert Jr. Belts Clutch Homer In Win

    Headshot for Luis Robert

Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. In an entertaining battle between two of MLB's most underperforming teams, the 25-year-old tied the contest 7-7 with a seventh-inning bomb. A bases-loaded walk later in the frame would give the White Sox the lead and ultimately result in the victory. After a quiet April, Robert is slashing .299/.367/.652 with 21 jacks, 37 RBI, and seven stolen bases over 252 plate appearances since May 2. The speedy slugger's MVP-level performance has represented a shining light on a dim array of vast Chicago disappointments. Fantasy managers hope Robert can stay healthy and deliver continued prosperity during the second half of the campaign.
