Corbin Burnes To Start Opening Day For Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Corbin Burnes will get the Opening Day nod for the team for the second straight year against the division-rival Chicago Cubs next Thursday at Wrigley Field. He'll be opposed by Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman. Burnes has even more reason for motivation in 2023 after sticky arbitration negotiations with the team in the winter, and he's RotoBaller's No. 3 fantasy starter. The 28-year-old hurler has made the All-Star squad two straight seasons and was the National League Cy Young winner in 2021. In a career-high 33 starts in 2022, Burnes went 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA (3.14 FIP), 0.96 WHIP and 30.5 percent strikeout rate. His 243 strikeouts were second in baseball to only Gerrit Cole.

Corbin Burnes Not Sharp Tuesday
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes had a poor showing in his second spring training start as the White Sox beat the Brewers 5-2. The ace pitched 3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk with no strikeouts. He has only pitched 5 1/3 innings this spring, but Burnes has a 6.75 ERA to this point. Fantasy managers shouldn't worry, as he should still be a top fantasy pitching option after going 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 30.5% strikeout rate in 202 IP in 2022.

Corbin Burnes Making Spring Debut Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes is expected to pitch two innings in his Cactus League debut on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers. It will also be Burnes' first time working with new catcher William Contreras in a game setting. RotoBaller's No. 2-ranked starting pitcher has made the All-Star team in each of the last two seasons and went 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA (3.14 FIP), 0.96 WHIP and 30.5 percent strikeout rate in a career-high 202 innings over 33 starts for the Brew Crew last year. He's as safe as they come in fantasy from a pitching perspective, but his relationship with the organization was tarnished this offseason when he went to a salary arbitration case and lost.

Corbin Burnes Expresses Disappointment With Brewers Following Arbitration Hearing
Brewers ace Corbin Burnes lost his arbitration hearing against the team this week and, upon being asked about the process in Brewers camp today, offered a rather candid assessment of the hearing (Twitter links, both with video, via Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and Adam McCalvy of MLB.com). The two-time All-Star and 2021 NL…
Feb 16 · MLB Trade Rumors Brewers Corbin BurnesCorbin Burnes Not Happy After Arbitration Case
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes said he wishes the Brewers would have handled his salary arbitration hearing on Wednesday with a little more respect. "There's no denying that the relationship is definitely hurt," Burnes said. Milwaukee will pay Burnes $10.01 million in 2023 instead of the $10.75 million salary he requested. It's business, and we're sure Burnes will eventually get over it. The 28-year-old has made the All-Star team in back-to-back seasons and has become one of the best pitchers in baseball after winning the National League Cy Young in 2021 and following it up with a 2.94 ERA and NL-leading 243 strikeouts last year. Regardless of how much he's making in 2023, he should be considered a top-five fantasy ace.

Corbin Burnes Loses Arbitration Case
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes lost his salary arbitration case against the team on Wednesday, according to a source. He will make $10.01 million this year instead of the $10.75 million that he filed for. Burnes has become one of the best pitchers in baseball the last few years. He won the National League Cy Young in 2021 and was almost just as good last year, going 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA (3.14 FIP), 0.96 WHIP and a league-high 243 strikeouts against 51 walks in 33 starts covering a career-high 202 innings pitched. The 28-year-old right-hander slipped a bit down the stretch, but fantasy managers couldn't really complain in the long run. When all is said and done, Burnes should be a fantasy ace on draft day.

Corbin Burnes Loses Arbitration Hearing Against Brewers
The Brewers have won their arbitration case against star righty Corbin Burnes, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com (Twitter link). He’ll be paid $10.01MM this season rather than the $10.75MM for which his camp had filed. A two-time All-Star, Burnes has finished in the top ten in NL Cy Young balloting in three consecutive seasons. He won…
