  • Austin Riley Returning On Saturday

    Headshot for Austin Riley

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley (illness) is back in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 26-year-old is back in the lineup after missing each of the last two games due to a stomach bug. This season, Riley is slashing .274/.334/.509 with 34 home runs and 85 RBI in 138 games. He'll cover third base and bat third versus right-hander Johan Oviedo on Saturday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups with Riley back here.

  • Austin Riley Remains Out On Friday

    Headshot for Austin Riley

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley (illness) remains out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This marks the second game in a row that Riley has missed due to a stomach bug. It's worth noting that Braves' manager Brian Snitker said Riley would be available off the bench on Friday. That being said, it sounds like a day-to-day issue, so Riley should be back at some point this weekend. In the meantime, Nicky Lopez will cover the hot corner and bat ninth versus right-hander Mitch Keller on Friday.

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley (illness) is absent from Thursday's lineup versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Nicky Lopez will handle the hot corner and bat ninth on Thursday with several other Braves moving up one spot in the order from their usual placements. Fantasy managers hope that Riley is feeling better ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. The two-time All-Star has debatably been fantasy's best third baseman in 2023, hitting .274 with 34 home runs, 85 RBI, 100 runs scored, and three stolen bases in 554 at-bats.

    Headshot for Austin Riley

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley went bonkers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs scored in Tuesday's 16-13 barn-burning loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 26-year-old entered this one a quiet 1-for-11 out of the All-Star break, but this showing was a rollicking one. Riley then mashed a two-run tater in the sixth before finally showing mercy by striking out during his last at-bat of the game. With the eruption, the 2023 All-Star is now batting .266 with a .787 OPS, 18 homers, 52 RBI, and two stolen bases in 369 ABs this year.
