  • Rafael Devers Does Not Appear In Friday's Game

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (quad) did not appear in Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays, and has not played since leaving the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays. Alex Cora has downplayed the quadriceps issue as a minor one, but fantasy managers will not be relieved until he has returned to the lineup. Boston added Jonathan Arauz to the roster to start at third base Friday, but that does not mean Devers is sure to miss much time. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for updates.

  • Rafael Devers Dealing With Quad Injury

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (quad) is dealing with a quadriceps injury, but the team hopes he'll be ready to return to action by Friday, according to Ian Browne of MLB.com. Devers exited Wednesday's game early with what was initially described as a potential hamstring issue, but now it appears that it's a problem with his quad. Regardless, the team seems to think it's a minor issue, so hopefully he'll be back in action on Friday. Consider him day-to-day for now, and keep an eye out for further updates on his condition as the week progresses.

  • Rafael Devers Hits 27th Long Ball Monday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers has been superlative the entire season, but he's been out of control in the past week. Devers went 2-for-4 with his 27th home run of the season Monday against the Toronto Blue Jays, bringing his slash line over his last seven games to .308/.367/.885 with five home runs. At a .935 OPS for the year with 67 runs and 81 RBI, Devers is a force to be reckoned with and could carry a fantasy team through the playoffs.

  • Rafael Devers Homers Twice, Drives In Five Against Yankees

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers had a monster night at the plate Friday, homering twice in five at-bats to drive in five of the six runs Boston scored. His 25th home run of the season came off ace starter Gerrit Cole, and his 26th came off reliever Nestor Cortes. Devers has now lifted his season OPS to .939 with 66 runs scored, 79 RBI, and three steals. There are lots of fantasy studs out there, but Devers has as good a case as almost any of them to be a first-round pick in 2022 drafts.

  • Rafael Devers Rockes 24th Homer

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went deep Wednesday for his only hit in three at-bats, lining a solo shot off of Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Robbie Ray. It was Devers' 24th home run of the year and his fifth off a lefty. Devers has only slugged .423 off lefties in 123 at-bats this season, and while that's hardly terrible, increased pop against southpaws would make Devers that much better as a player and fantasy asset. He's already formidable with a .924 OPS in 344 at-bats this season.

  • Rafael Devers Hits 23rd Homer

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers hit his 23rd home run of the season Monday, a solo shot off Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Anthony Kay. Devers also walked and score two runs in four at-bats. He's now slashing .279/.353/.563 with three steals, 62 runs, and 73 RBI. He'll look to continue the beat-down on Toronto pitching again Tuesday, when he has a favorable matchup against projected starter Thomas Hatch.

  • Rafael Devers Walks Three Times Sunday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers had three walks Sunday, the first time this season he's collected as many free passes in a game. Devers has posted a career-high 8.5 percent walk rate in his 376 plate appearances this year, and that improved batting eye may be contributing to his outstanding year. With his .910 OPS, 22 homers, and 72 RBI, Devers is a fantasy superstar showing no signs of slowing down.

  • Rafael Devers Hits 23rd Home Run Friday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went deep off of Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez on Friday, bringing his home run total for the season to 23. The solo shot was his only hit in three at-bats, and he also walked twice. Devers has been superlative all year, deservedly earning his place in the all-star game's starting lineup, and he's been even better over his last 15 games with a .327/.422/.600 slash line with four home runs and 14 RBI. Batting behind Alex Verdugo, J.D. Martinez, and Xander Bogaerts, those RBI totals will surely continue to climb, making him a major boon to fantasy managers.

  • Rafael Devers Homers, Drives In Three Monday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers led the way Monday, going 3-for-5 with a home run against the Los Angeles Angels. The first-time all-star now has a seven-game hitting streak, during which time he has slashed .429/.484/.750 with two home runs and nine RBI. Fantasy managers can sit back and continue to enjoy the ride.

The homer was his 20th of the season. Devers now has a .340/.438/.717 slash line over his last 15 games with five homers, 12 runs, and a whopping 19 RBI in that span. He now leads the league with 69 RBI in what has been a very nice year for the budding superstar. Fantasy managers will hope the hot streak keeps up, but there's no reason to believe he's slowing down after Thursday's onslaught.

  • Rafael Devers Reaches Base Three Times Tuesday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers reached base three times against the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, going 1-for-2 with a single and two walks. Devers has been getting on base at an unbelievable clip of late, with a .429 OBP over his last 15 games and an even more impressive .464 OBP over his last seven. There isn't a category he doesn't contribute to, and fantasy managers can sit back and continue to reap the rewards of their investment.

Devers now has an OPS of 1.040 over his last 15 games, with four home runs and 16 RBI in that span. The remarkable thing is that he's been almost as good all season, with a .926 OPS in 279 at-bats. Fantasy managers can run him out there with confidence on a daily basis.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers continued his hot hitting Tuesday, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and a run scored. He now has 41 extra-base hits on the season, and has slashed .357/.387/.786 in his last seven games. On the season he has a .920 OPS with 18 home runs, 49 runs, 60 RBI, and three steals. Fantasy managers would be hard-pressed to find a better option to activate each week.

  • Rafael Devers Hits 18th Home Run

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went deep yet again Sunday, hitting a solo shot in the top of the eighth inning of Boston's 7-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals. Devers has now homered in three of his last five games. He's slashed .357/.400/.786 over the last seven games, and is seemingly unstoppable this year. He's a top-of-the-line play week in and week out.

  • Rafael Devers Smacks 17th Home Run

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers hit his 17th home run of the year in Friday's contest against the Royals. The solo shot came in the top of the eighth inning off reliever Scott Barlow and was Devers' only hit in four at-bats. Devers now carries a very healthy .921 OPS on the year, and will continue to be in excellent position to produce big numbers for fantasy managers batting in the middle of a potent Red Sox lineup.

  • Rafael Devers Gets On Base Three Times Wednesday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers reached base three times Wednesday night, going 1-for-3 with two walks, a run, and an RBI. Devers has been seeing the ball very well of late, slashing .379/.419/.621 over his past seven games. There's simply no way fantasy managers could justify taking Devers out of the lineup, even in the coldest of stretches, as he holds a .916 OPS with 16 home runs through 247 at-bats.

  • Rafael Devers Comes A Triple Short Of A Cycle

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers had a big night Tuesday, going 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, a double, four RBI, and two runs scored against the Atlanta Braves, missing only the triple in his near-cycle. With his .283/.344/.570 slash line for the year, Devers is proving that his breakout 2019 was no fluke. He has 16 home runs and three steals for the year and is one of the best fantasy third basemen in the game.

  • Rafael Devers Delivers Walk-off Hit Monday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers came through in the clutch Monday, delivering a 396-foot walk-off single off the Green Monster to give the Red Sox a 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Devers was 2-for-4 in the contest. Devers now has three multi-hit contests in his last four games, and perhaps he's heating up again. Fantasy managers have to be very pleased with his production on the season, and they'll surely be pleased to see Devers heating up.

  • Rafael Devers Out Of Lineup Against Toronto

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's contest with the Blue Jays. All signs point to this being simply a day off, as he has played in 35 straight games for Boston. Devers has been having a nice season at the plate so far, slashing .272/.337/.553 with 15 home runs, three steals, 49 RBI and 43 runs scored over 62 games. With Devers out, Bobby Dalbec will slide over from first to third, and Danny Santana will get the start at first base.

  • Rafael Devers Triples, Drives In A Run Saturday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers was responsible for two of Boston's five hits Saturday, going 2-for-5 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI. He also was caught stealing for the fifth time this year. Devers has been in somewhat of a rut in June, and this triple is just his fourth extra-base hit of the month. That said, fantasy managers should be quite confident that a turnaround is coming as Devers has been excellent all year, contributing across all categories, though a 3-for-8 success rate on stolen bases can't make managers in Net Steals leagues too pleased.

Jun 13 · RotoBaller Red Sox Rafael Devers
  • Rafael Devers Scores Twice Thursday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers scored two of the team's ten runs Thursday, going 2-for-5 with two singles against the Houston Astros. Devers has just two extra-base hits in his last 11 games, and has struggled to a .244/.295/.366 slash line in June, but Devers showed a good approach in this one, going the opposite way when the Astros shifted against him. Devers will look to build on this outing in the coming series against the Toronto Blue Jays, and fantasy managers can feel confident playing him on a daily basis.

  • Rafael Devers Scores Twice, Drives In Two

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went 2-for-5 Saturday against the Yankees, with two runs scored and two RBI. Devers now has a modest four-game hit streak, and has slashed .310/.365/.638 over his last fifteen games with four homers, 12 runs scored and 15 RBI in that span. He's working his way higher and higher up the fantasy ranks, with an argument to be a top-10 hitter.

  • Rafael Devers Hits Three-Run Bomb Friday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers provided most of the offense Friday, hitting a three-run home run in the top of the first inning to blitz starter Michael King and the Yankees. It was the 15th home run of Devers' season. Devers endured a brief cold stretch against the fastball of late, but it hasn't slowed down his production hardly at all. Devers now has a .942 OPS to go with his 15 homers, three steals, 36 runs, and 46 RBI. He's a fantasy superstar.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers has been excellent all season, but he's been even better of late. In Saturday afternoon's contest, Devers went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. In his last seven games, Devers is slashing .333/.379/.852 with three home runs and 23 total bases in 27 at-bats. He's never been a better fantasy asset and has completely turned it around since his down (by his standards) 2020 season.

  • Rafael Devers Homers, Plates Three Wednesday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers led the way Wednesday, going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a double, three RBI and two runs scored. The home run was his 14th of the year, and came off of Atlanta starter Drew Smyly. Devers entered the game with just a .639 OPS against lefties this season, but that didn't stop him on this occasion. Fantasy managers have to be thrilled with the production Devers has shown all year.

  • Rafael Devers Goes Deep Yet Again Sunday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went deep in the top of the ninth inning Sunday, hitting a solo shot off of Phillies reliever Archie Bradley. It was his 13th of the season. Devers is now tied for fourth in the major league home run race, and has been consistently excellent all season. He's both reliable and superlative, which is an ideal combination for a fantasy asset.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers had another big night at the plate Friday, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, three RBI, and two runs scored. The two-run home run was his twelfth of the year and came off Phillies reliever Connor Brogdon. Devers lifted his OPS to .945 in the contest, and has been absolutely on fire of late, producing a .333/.400/.741 slash line in his last seven games. He's an elite fantasy third baseman.

He has been outstanding so far in 2021, slashing .276/.350/.564 with 11 home runs, 27 runs scored, and 34 RBI. Devers isn't known for his sprint speed, but every steal he accrues raises his ceiling. Devers is an excellent fantasy option.

  • Rafael Devers Blasts Three-Run Shot Sunday

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers batted out of the two-hole Sunday afternoon against the Angels, and he went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. He also struck out twice. The home run was Devers' eleventh of the season and his second in as many games. He now has an excellent .937 OPS for 2021 and remains one of the top fantasy third basemen out there.

  • Rafael Devers Hits Tenth Homer

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers hit his tenth home run of the year Saturday, a solo shot off Noe Ramirez of the Angels in the bottom of the seventh inning. Devers went 2-for-3 in the contest with a walk and two runs scored. Devers has been tearing up the ball to start the year, carrying a .928 OPS and 31 RBI in addition to his homers, while contributing two steals. He's rebounded very nicely from his somewhat sub-par 2020, and remains a very valuable fantasy asset.

May 15 · RotoBaller Red Sox Rafael Devers
  • Rafael Devers Showing Elite Peripherals In 2021

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers has some strong surface numbers so far this year. Through 28 games, he's slashing .282/.370/.563 with seven home runs, eight doubles, 21 RBI and 16 runs. However, it's the peripheral stats that should really excite fantasy managers who drafted Devers this year. Devers currently ranks in the top 1% of the league in xwOBA (.479), xSLG (.728) and barrel rate (21.8%). Additionally, his .350 xBA suggests that there's plenty of room for growth in his batting average. Devers has been great so far this year, but even better times could be ahead.
