  • Austin Hays Returns On Monday

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (oblique) is back in left field and is hitting sixth in the batting order on Monday against Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. Hays missed the last four games with left oblique tightness, but fantasy managers will have him available for the week. The 27-year-old hasn't been as good against left-handers this year with a .252 average (28-for-111) and four of his 12 home runs, but he's worth reinserting into starting fantasy lineups against Kikuchi on Monday. Overall, Hays has hit .258/.317/.429 with 12 long balls, 47 RBI, 49 runs scored and two stolen bases in 398 plate appearances over 96 games played.

  • Austin Hays Sidelined Against Pirates

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (oblique) will miss yet another game on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hays has been out of the lineup since Tuesday with tightness in his left oblique, which can be a difficult injury to come back from in short order. Although he's day-to-day for now, this could turn into an injured list situation. However, he did some baseball activities on Saturday and could be nearing a return in a few days. Brett Phillips will get another start in left field on Sunday and will hit eighth against Pirates right-hander Bryse Wilson. The former Tampa Bay Ray has gone 2-for-8 with two doubles in his first three games with Baltimore, but on the year he's hitting a lowly .151/.226/.260 with five homers, 15 RBI, 21 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 78 games.

  • Austin Hays Remains Out Saturday

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (oblique) is out of the starting lineup again on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hays is dealing with oblique tightness, but he downplayed the injury on Friday, so he could return to Baltimore's lineup on Sunday. Brett Phillips will get another start in left field on Saturday while hitting ninth in the batting order against Pirates right-hander JT Brubaker. Phillips has gone 1-for-6 with a double and four strikeouts in two games since coming over from the Tampa Bay Rays. In his 75 games for Tampa this year, Phillips hit .147/.225/.250 with five home runs, 14 RBI, 21 runs scored and seven stolen bases before being designated for assignment. He'll be a low-upside DFS dart throw against Pittsburgh.

  • Austin Hays Dealing With Side Soreness

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (side) was out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers due to a sore left side. According to Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, Hays could return to action for Friday's series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates following the team's day off on Thursday. The 27-year-old is slashing .258/.317/.429 with 12 home runs, 47 RBI, 49 runs, and two stolen bases in 96 games in 2022. Hays is considered day-to-day. Ryan McKenna will continue to handle right field duties while Hays is sidelined.

  • Austin Hays Homers Thursday

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays hit a home run Thursday, adding an insurance run in the eighth inning of a 10-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Hays went 1-for-5 with the solo shot and two runs scored. This season has represented a big step forward for the right fielder, who is now slashing .289/.351/.474 with nine home runs, 33 runs scored, 37 RBI, and one stolen base in 246 plate appearances. He's well on his way to eclipsing his career-high of 22 home runs, set last season.

  • Austin Hays Looks To Rebound From Slow June Start

After a great start through April and May to begin the 2022 MLB season, Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays is starting with a slump through the first week of June. Hays is currently 4-for-19 this month with one home run, six RBI and a slash line of .211/.286/.368. Hays and the Orioles prepare to take on Keegan Thompson and the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, which could be troublesome, as Thompson is generating a 52% ground-ball rate on his pitches this season. With 49% of Hays' hits this season coming on the fastball, expect a healthy diet of cutters and curveballs from Thompson on Tuesday.

  • Austin Hays Set To Return On Tuesday

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (hand) is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against right-hander Jameson Taillon and the New York Yankees. He will be covering left field and batting second in the lineup. Hays was held out for four straight games after he was cleated on his left hand during last Thursday's game. The 26-year-old is off to a solid start to the year and is worthy of a roster spot in most AL-only leagues and five-outfielder leagues. Over 31 games this year, he's slashed .291/.364/.444 with three home runs, 12 RBI and 12 runs.

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (hand) went through batting practice on Monday. He is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game, but there is some hope that he could return on Tuesday or even be utilized off the bench on Monday. Hays was cleated on his left hand this past Thursday and he wound up sitting out the entirety of the team's three-game series against the Detroit Tigers this past weekend. Ryan McKenna is making his third straight start in left field with Hays out of the starting lineup for the fourth consecutive game on Monday.
