  • Mauricio Dubon Out On Wednesday

    Headshot for Mauricio Dubon

Houston Astros outfielder/infielder Mauricio Dubon (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels. Dubon injured his left hamstring in Tuesday's contest and had to be removed early. He's currently considered day-to-day for now, so there's a chance he could return to action later this week/weekend. The 28-year-old has seen decent playing time due to injuries on the roster of late, and he's taken advantage of the playing time by hitting .287 (37-for-129) with seven doubles, a triple, no home runs, six RBI and three stolen bases in 31 games played. With Dubon sidelined on Wednesday, David Hensley is manning the keystone and is hitting seventh in the batting order against Angels right-hander Griffin Canning.

  • Mauricio Dubon Will Avoid The Injured List

    Headshot for Mauricio Dubon

Houston Astros second baseman Mauricio Dubon (hamstring) exited Tuesday's contest against the Los Angeles Angels with left hamstring discomfort. But after the game, the 28-year-old told reporters that it's nothing serious and he'll avoid a trip to the injured list, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. That's good news for fantasy managers, as Dubon has been a surprisingly productive bat, slashing .287/.306/.357 with no homers, 22 runs, six RBI, and three stolen bases from the top of the Astros lineup. The native of Honduras may need a couple of days off, but fantasy managers should expect him back in the lineup soon.

  • Mauricio Dubon Exits Early Tuesday

    Headshot for Mauricio Dubon

Houston Astros second baseman/outfielder Mauricio Dubon (hamstring) exited Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Angels in the fifth inning with left hamstring discomfort, per MLB.com's Brian McTaggart. Dubon came up hobbling after making a play at second base in the third inning but stayed in until the fifth inning. Fantasy managers should be on the lookout for further updates tomorrow. The 28-year-old has slashed a serviceable .287/.306/.357 with no home runs, six RBI, and three stolen bases in 134 plate appearances. He has been a solid player for the Astros, but his lack of power limits his fantasy value.

  • Mauricio Dubon Cemented In The Leadoff Spot

    Headshot for Mauricio Dubon

Houston Astros second baseman Mauricio Dubon is leading off Saturday's game against Zack Wheeler and the Philadelphia Phillies. The former 26th-rounder first led off on April 15, and that's been his permanent spot ever since. Dubon's putting up the best numbers of his career so far, with a .315/.340/.402 slash line, four RBI, 18 runs, and two stolen bases. He's still searching for his first homer, but with Jose Altuve (thumb) out of action until June, fantasy managers can capitalize on Dubon's newfound hitting ability and run total at the top of an elite Astros offense.

  • Mauricio Dubon Sitting Against Minnesota

    Headshot for Mauricio Dubon

Houston Astros infielder/outfielder Mauricio Dubon is out of the starting lineup versus Joe Ryan and the Twins on Saturday afternoon. The 28-year-old is batting .263 with five hits and one RBI this season. However, he'll take a seat against Minnesota, with David Hensley taking over at the keystone and batting seventh while seeing Ryan for the first time in his career.

  • Astros' Options To Cover Second Base In Altuve's Absence

    Headshot for Jose Altuve

The Astros announced this afternoon star second baseman Jose Altuve underwent successful surgery to repair the right thumb fracture he suffered in the World Baseball Classic. He won’t begin baseball activities for two months and will obviously need some time to work back into game shape from that point forward. Given that timetable, it’s hard to…
