  • Dylan Moore To Miss Multiple Weeks

Seattle Mariners outfielder Dylan Moore (oblique) is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering an injury on Thursday. The 30-year-old is likely to miss 2-4 weeks after being diagnosed with an oblique strain. He was already questionable for Opening Day while recovering from core muscle surgery. Now, the Mariners might hold him out longer than this timetable until he's back to full health. His absence means that Cooper Hummel and Mason McCoy have a better chance at making the Opening Day roster. Moore wasn't a great fantasy option anyway, but this injury means he can probably be avoided in most leagues. His best attribute is his speed, which makes him a possible deep league option when healthy.

  • Dylan Moore Scratched On Thursday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Dylan Moore (side) was scratched from Thursday's Cactus League matchup. Manager Scott Servais said Moore felt something in his side while taking swings in the batting cage on Thursday morning. The team plans to have Moore undergo further testing to confirm it's not a more serious injury. It's uncertain if this will cause Moore to begin the season on the injured list. Fantasy managers should check back for another update on his status.

  • Dylan Moore To Make Spring Debut Thursday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Dylan Moore (abdomen) is scheduled to make his Cactus League debut on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants. Moore has been brought along slowly this spring after having core-muscle surgery in the offseason, but he still has enough time to get ready for Opening Day later this month. The 30-year-old can also play the infield, although he doesn't have a clear path to regular playing time in Seattle, barring injuries to other players. All of his fantasy value lies in his legs, as he's stolen 42 total bases in the last two seasons while hitting only .197/.313/.354 with a .667 OPS, 18 home runs, 67 RBI and 83 runs scored in 230 games. Moore is a steals target in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.

  • Dylan Moore Expected To Be Ready For Opening Day

Seattle Mariners outfielder Dylan Moore (core) picked up more baseball activities after the team's first full-squad workout on Feb. 21. He was expected to be slow played to begin spring training, but there are no current concerns about his status for Opening Day. Moore recently signed a three-year, $8.875 million contract extension with the team. The 30-year-old can play the outfield, but he's expected to see more time in 2023 at second base and shortstop for the M's. Moore will be a valuable utility player for Seattle again this year. The additions of AJ Pollock and Teoscar Hernandez is the primary reason that Moore isn't expected to see as much time in the outfield. Expect Moore to see most of his playing time against left-handed pitching, which limits his fantasy appeal to deep-mixed and AL-only leagues.

  • Dylan Moore, Sam Haggerty Could Be A Bit Behind

Seattle Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said the team's top two bench players -- Dylan Moore (core) and Sam Haggerty (groin) -- may be a bit behind schedule in spring training when position players report on Feb. 20. Moore had core-muscle surgery in early December and had "a bit of a setback" in his rehab. Haggerty had a Grade 2 adductor strain at the end of last year, but he resumed full baseball activity last week. There are indications that he needed offseason surgery. Barring more setbacks for Moore and Haggerty, they should both be on the Opening Day roster as bench bats for the improved Mariners. Moore will be an option against left-handed pitching and is a deep-league option for steals after stealing 20-plus bags each of the last two years.

  • Dylan Moore Avoids Arbitration With Three-Year Deal

The Seattle Mariners and super utilityman Dylan Moore avoided salary arbitration on Wednesday by agreeing to a three-year, $8.875 million extension, according to sources. The deal contains no options and escalators to $9 million-plus while buying out one free-agent year. Moore posted a strong .368 on-base percentage in 2022 and played seven different positions. The 30-year-old had offseason surgery on his abdomen but is expected to be ready for Opening Day, where he should continue to get plenty of playing time against left-handed pitchers all over the field. In his fourth MLB season for the M's last year, Moore slashed .224/.368/.385 with a .753 OPS, six home runs, 24 RBI, 41 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in 104 games. He is valuable in deeper leagues for his positional versatility and speed.
