  • Gleyber Torres Slumping With The Bat

New York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres took an 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 4-3 loss against the Seattle Mariners. He did walk once, but he's been ice cold over his last 15 games, batting .184 with a single home run. Torres has still bounced back quite a bit from his previous two seasons, slashing .252/.306/.447 with 16 HRs, 51 runs, 47 RBI, and five stolen bases across 100 games. The 25-year-old's offering a good combination of everything, but fantasy managers need to monitor his play moving forward to make sure the player who posted a .697 OPS in 2021 hasn't returned.

  • Gleyber Torres Taking A Seat On Saturday

New York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres is getting the day off on Saturday as the team takes on right-hander Nick Pivetta and the Boston Red Sox. DJ LeMahieu is shifting over to cover second base for the game. Torres has been swinging a hot bat so far in July. He's recorded at least one hit in 10 of his 11 games this month while compiling a .396/.463/.563 slash line. The 25-year-old owns a .273/.330/.493 slash line on the year to go along with 14 home runs, 40 RBI and 43 runs. Expect to see him back on the field for the series finale on Sunday.

  • Gleyber Torres Returns, Anthony Rizzo Out Wednesday

New York Yankees middle infielder Gleyber Torres (ankle, wrist) is back at second base and is hitting fifth on Wednesday against Oakland Athletics left-hander Cole Irvin, while first baseman Anthony Rizzo will take the day off against the southpaw. Torres exited Sunday's game late against the Houston Astros with a mild ankle sprain, and he also took a few days off due to a sore wrist that he's been battling for a few weeks. The 25-year-old is only hitting .250, but his power stroke is back and he's sitting on 13 home runs and 32 RBI in 228 at-bats. Get him back into your lineups. Rizzo left the game early on Monday when he was hit by a pitch, but he returned on Tuesday and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. DJ LeMahieu is starting at first and hitting leadoff on Wednesday against Irvin.

  • Gleyber Torres Receives Injection In Wrist

New York Yankees middle infielder Gleyber Torres' (ankle, wrist) ankle is doing well, but he underwent an MRI exam on his right wrist on Monday. His wrist is structurally sound, but he received a cortisone injection and is unlikely to swing a bat until Wednesday. Torres suffered a mild ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Houston Astros, and he's not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Oakland Athletics. The 25-year-old is also dealing with a bum right wrist, so there's a good chance he'll be out through at least Wednesday. Hopefully for his fantasy managers, the combination of the ankle and wrist injury won't affect his swing at the dish moving forward. Torres has been making much more hard contact in 2022 and is already up to 13 home runs.

  • Gleyber Torres Not In Lineup Monday

New York Yankees middle infielder Gleyber Torres (ankle) is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Oakland Athletics. Torres will take a seat after suffering a mild ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Houston Astros. There's a chance that he misses Tuesday's game as well, but the Yankees are confident that his injury isn't very serious. The 25-year-old Venezuelan is hitting just .250, but he's been more productive at the plate this year with 13 home runs, 32 RBI, 33 runs scored and four stolen bases in 228 at-bats so far for the Yanks. DJ LeMahieu is starting at the keystone and is hitting leadoff on Monday against A's right-hander Paul Blackburn. LeMahieu will be a fine DFS target on Monday in the leadoff spot.

  • Gleyber Torres Day-To-Day With Ankle Sprain

New York Yankees infielder Gleyber Torres (ankle) turned his ankle while trying to return to third base on Sunday against the Houston Astros, and manager Aaron Boone said Torres' injury is a "mild ankle sprain." "He caught his spike and kind of rolled it over there at third," Boone said. "I'm hoping it scared him more than anything. We'll see what we have overnight and [Monday], but I don't expect it to be serious." Fantasy managers should consider the 25-year-old day-to-day for now, but don't be surprised if he's not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Oakland Athletics. While Torres is hitting a mediocre .250 on the season, he's made some adjustments in 2022 and has 13 home runs, 32 RBI and four stolen bases in 67 games played.

  • Gleyber Torres Dealing With Stomach Issue

Updating a previous report, New York Yankees infielder Gleyber Torres (stomach) is "a little under the weather," according to manager Aaron Boone. However, it's not believed to be a COVID situation. Torres was scratched from the team's starting lineup against Chicago Cubs right-hander Keegan Thompson, but there's a good chance that he'll be back in the lineup on Tuesday after an off day on Monday. DJ LeMahieu is now starting at the keystone and is hitting cleanup against the Cubs. He'll be a strong DFS option in the series finale. Torres is slashing .253/.299/.495 with 12 home runs, 28 RBI, 23 runs scored and one stolen base on the year in 186 at-bats for the Yankees. Make sure to remove him from fantasy lineups on Sunday.

  • Yankees Scratch Gleyber Torres Sunday

New York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres was scratched from the starting lineup on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs for undisclosed reasons. With Josh Donaldson also getting the day off, Matt Carpenter will play third base and bat fifth, while DJ LeMahieu will shift to the keystone and hit cleanup against Cubs right-hander Keegan Thompson. If Torres is dealing with an injury, we'll update you. The 25-year-old middle infielder has provided plenty of power this year with 12 home runs, and he's hitting .253/.299/.495 with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored and a stolen base in 186 at-bats. Outfielder Aaron Judge, who slugged two home runs on Saturday night, will occupy the leadoff spot on Sunday.

  • Gleyber Torres Goes Deep Thursday

New York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres kept his hot streak going Thursday, taking Shohei Ohtani deep in the 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. He went 2-for-4 with a double as well. The home run marked his fifth one in his last eight games, and Torres is slashing .281/.293/.614 in his last 15. In 47 contests overall, the 25-year-old is hitting .256 with 10 HRs, 25 RBI, 18 runs, and one stolen base. This production is coming after two seasons of a sub .730 OPS. It seems as though the Torres of 2019 is back to some degree.

  • Gleyber Torres Sitting For Game 1 On Sunday

New York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the team's doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. DJ LeMahieu will be handling second base duties for the game. Torres is off to a decent start to the 2022 season. Over 36 games, he's slashing .242/.285/.425 with five home runs, 19 RBI and 11 runs. We expect to see him back in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the two-game set.
