  • Ozzie Albies To Resume Batting Practice Soon

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (foot) is expected to resume batting practice as early as next week. The 25-year-old is continuing to work his way back from a broken foot that has limited him to 62 games this season. Albies is aiming to travel with the team for their next road trip where he'll face live pitching. The organizations believes he could return in late August or early September. This is good news for fantasy managers who have been holding Albies through this injury. He could make a significant impact once he gets back on the field.

  • Ozzie Albies Plays Catch

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (foot) played catch on Wednesday, according to skipper Brian Snitker, and he will soon ramp up other baseball activities. In a best-case scenario, Albies could return in early to mid-September. The 25-year-old is no longer using a walking boot and will continue to ramp up his rehab in the coming weeks. He was hitting .244/.289/.405 with eight home runs, 33 RBI, 34 runs scored and three stolen bases in 242 at-bats before his injury. Even though Albies probably won't be ready until around midway through September, he's worth keeping stashed in an IL spot on fantasy rosters. Orlando Arcia should continue to man the keystone regularly in Atlanta.

  • Braves Targeting Mid-Late August Return For Ozzie Albies

The Braves have been without Ozzie Albies for a month, as the star second baseman fractured his left foot on June 13. Atlanta immediately placed him on the 60-day injured list, and he underwent surgery a few days later. The club maintained they expected him to play again this season, but they didn’t provide an estimated…

  • Ozzie Albies Has Surgery On Fractured Foot

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (foot) underwent successful surgery to stabilize a fracture in his left foot on Wednesday. The Braves also put Albies on the 60-day injured list on Tuesday, so he'll obviously be out for an extended period of time for the Braves and fantasy managers alike. The 25-year-old was hitting .244/.289/.405 with eight home runs, 33 RBI, 34 runs scored and three stolen bases in 263 plate appearances over 62 games. He needs to be stashed in an IL spot in all season-long fantasy leagues. Veteran infielder Orlando Arcia took over at second base on Tuesday and figures to see most of the playing time there in the foreseeable future. The 27-year-old can't replace the kind of production you were getting from Albies, but he's hitting a nice .327 on the season in 61 plate appearances and hit his second homer of the year on Tuesday.

  • Braves Select Phil Gosselin, Place Ozzie Albies On 60-Day Injured List

The Braves announced this morning that they’ve selected the contract of veteran infielder Phil Gosselin from Triple-A Gwinnett. Ozzie Albies, who suffered a fractured left foot in last night’s game, has been placed on the 60-day injured list to open a spot on the active and 40-man rosters. It’s something of a homecoming for Gosselin,…

  • Ozzie Albies Exits With Fractured Left Foot Monday

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (foot) left Monday's 9-5 win over the Nationals in the fifth inning after he fractured his left foot, per the Atlanta Braves via Twitter. Albies fell while trying to run up the first-base line after a swing. Orlando Arcia came in to replace Albies. It will remain to be seen who will fill in for the 25-year-old, but they will not be able to replace what he can bring to fantasy teams. Fantasy managers will need to wait for more news to see how much time Albies will miss.

  • Ozzie Albies Suffers Foot Fracture

The Braves announced that second baseman Ozzie Albies has fractured his left foot. He departed tonight’s game against the Nationals in the fifth inning after suffering the injury. • Ozzie Albies Resting Friday

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the Colorado Rockies. Albies will take the first game of the weekend series against Colorado off. Orlando Arcia is getting the start at the keystone instead and is batting seventh against Rockies right-hander Chad Kuhl. Albies has been great in the last two weeks, slashing .298/.322/.404 with no homers, seven RBI and 12 runs scored in 59 plate appearances. Overall, he's hitting .251/.298/.401 with six homers, 22 RBI, 31 runs scored and three stolen bases in 52 games for Atlanta. Arcia doesn't have much power, but he has gone 14-for-44 (.318) in 15 games played as a reserve for the Braves in 2022.

  • Ozzie Albies Goes 1-For-5 In Win Over D-Backs

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies went 1-for-5 with a run scored in the team's 6-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Albies has been slowly lifting his batting average over the last few weeks. He's now batting .248 on the year, a solid increase from the .214 average he had at the end of April. However, he's still lacking significantly in the power department. He's slugging just .396 on the season and he hasn't homered since April 24.

  • Ozzie Albies Batting Second On Wednesday

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is slotting in to the No. 2 spot in the lineup for Wednesday's game against left-hander Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies. Albies is coming off of one of his best games of the season. In Tuesday's contest, he went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. He began the year as the team's leadoff hitter, but his struggles sent him down the lineup. He's mostly been hitting fifth or sixth lately. If he can build off Tuesday's effort and remain in the No. 2 slot right behind Ronald Acuna Jr., he'll have some increased fantasy potential.

  • Ozzie Albies Reaches Base Four Times On Tuesday

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies had one of his best offensive outings of the year in Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. He attempted a pair of steals, but was unfortunately caught on both attempts. Albies is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak that's helped raise his season-long batting average to .253. His power struggles still remain a concern as he hasn't homered since April 23 and he's slugging just .406 on the year.
