  • Yankees Notes: Kiner-Falefa, Volpe, Trevino

Yankees infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa has been at the center of plenty of speculation this spring. That’s both revolved around whether he’d hold onto the starting shortstop job with youngsters Oswald Peraza and Anthony Volpe on the horizon and whether he could be traded to an infield-needy team like the Dodgers or Rockies. Now, Kiner-Falefa’s role for the…

  • Aaron Judge Hits First Homer Of Spring Monday

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge hit his first long ball of the season in Monday's 9-2 Grapefruit League win over the Pirates. The 30-year-old hit an impressive opposite-field, three-run shot in the sixth inning and is now batting .500 this spring. The 2022 American League Most Valuable Player obviously did a great job of hitting the ball over the fence last season, slashing .311/.425/.686 with 62 HR, 131 RBI, and 16 stolen bases. While it is unrealistic to expect that many from him this season, fantasy managers can still confidently draft Judge as a top overall fantasy player and one of baseball's best sources of power.

  • Aaron Judge Likely To Play Left Field Next Week

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that outfielder Aaron Judge will play left field "soon." "Sometime, probably next week," Boone said. Judge, who broke the American League single-season home run record in 2022 with 62 home runs, is set to play some left field this year in the Bronx. The 30-year-old last played left field in Triple-A in 2016, but it should be a seamless transition for him at Yankee Stadium. The four-time All-Star and last year's AL MVP will be the first or second player off the board in the first round of fantasy drafts after his monster season last year. In addition to his record-breaking 62 long balls, Judge had a ridiculous .311/.425/.686 slash line with a 1.111 OPS, 131 RBI, 133 runs scored and 16 stolen bases in 157 regular season games.

  • Aaron Judge Could Start Playing Some Left Field

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that, while there is no plan to start playing Aaron Judge in left field, the idea is "on the table" if it will facilitate Giancarlo Stanton getting more time in right field. Both Boone and Stanton stated that the outfielder/designated hitter would benefit from more playing time in the outfield. Judge split time between center and right field in 2022 but has never played right field, and Stanton spent most of his time in right field throughout his career before serving primarily as a DH. Fantasy managers have nothing to worry about with Judge, but a change in rhythm could be good for Stanton, who did hit 31 home runs in 2022 but only slashed .211/.297/.462.

  • Aaron Judge Takes Reps At First, "Nothing There"

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge was seen taking fielding reps at first base during Tuesday's camp, per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. While the 30-year-old was initially drafted as a first baseman and pitcher in 2010, he has never played first base in his big-league career. It sounds like that will continue to be the case, as manager Aaron Boone said there was "nothing there", and the team signed Anthony Rizzo to a two-year deal this off-season. The 2022 Most Valuable Player should be a top outfield option and overall fantasy player once again in 2023, as he will look to follow up on a .311/.425/.686 slash line with 62 home runs, 131 RBI, and 16 stolen bases.
