  • Garrett Cooper Scuffling At The Plate

Miami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper went hitless in Friday's 2-1 loss against the Chicago Cubs, going 0-for-4 with a walk. He's in a terrible slump, hitting .082 with 17 strikeouts over his last 15 games. Across 86 games this season, Cooper's been productive, slashing .275/.344/.422 with seven home runs, 42 RBI, and 28 runs. The 31-year-old can be dropped in standard leagues, but he still has relevance in deeper leagues, even as just a bench bat.

  • Dodgers Looking At Garrett Cooper

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been looking at Miami Marlins All-Star first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (wrist), but teams in the Juan Soto sweepstakes might wait to act on other hitters. Cooper also just landed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right wrist contusion after he was hit by a pitch last Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 31-year-old won't be back until after the Aug. 2 trade deadline, but he could certainly help an already strong Dodgers lineup down the stretch if he's healthy. In 84 games for the Fish this year, Cooper has a slash line of .279/.347/.426 with seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs scored in 337 plate appearances.

  • Garrett Cooper Lands On Injured List With Wrist Contusion

The Miami Marlins have placed first baseman Garrett Cooper (wrist) on the 10-day injured list with a right wrist contusion. The team activated fellow first baseman Lewin Diaz in a corresponding move and he will be batting fifth in Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Cooper was hit in his right wrist by a pitch during this past Saturday's game and he hasn't seen the field since. The 31-year-old has compiled seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs across 84 games on the year to go along with a .279/.347/.426 slash line.

  • Garrett Cooper Remains Out On Monday

Miami Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper (wrist) will remain out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against left-hander Nick Lodolo and the Cincinnati Reds. Cooper was hit by a pitch in his wrist this past Saturday. He underwent X-rays over the weekend and they came back clean. He remains day-to-day for now. The 31-year-old appeared in his first career All-Star game last week. He's hitting .279/.347/.426 on the year to go along with seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs.

  • Garrett Cooper Back In Action Against Phillies

Miami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (knee) is starting at first base and hitting second on Friday against Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Kyle Gibson. Cooper will be available again for fantasy managers after missing the last two games due to a bruised left knee. The 31-year-old All-Star has been in a recent cold stretch at the plate, but he's hitting .295/.362/.453 with an .815 OPS, seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs overall this year in 315 plate appearances and 78 games. July has been a rough month for him, as he's gone 7-for-40 (.175) with two homers, five RBI and 14 strikeouts in 12 games played.

  • Garrett Cooper Remains Out On Thursday

Miami Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper (knee) will remain out of action on Thursday as the team takes on right-hander Zach Thompson and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jesus Aguilar will be covering first base once again for the contest. This will be Cooper's second consecutive missed game due to a knee injury he suffered on Tuesday. He remains day-to-day at this point. The 31-year-old has had a strong season, slashing .296/.363/.455 over 77 games while compiling seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs.

  • Garrett Cooper Out With Knee Injury Wednesday

Miami Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper (knee) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against right-hander JT Brubaker and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jesus Aguilar will be covering first base for the game. Cooper injured his knee during Tuesday's game and he is being considered day-to-day. The 31-year-old was named to his first career All-Star team this week, thanks to his .296 batting average on the year. Over 77 games on the year, he's compiled seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs.

  • Garrett Cooper Goes Deep Tuesday

Miami Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper went deep off Los Angeles Angels starter Noah Syndergaard Tuesday, helping the Marlins to a 2-1 victory. Cooper also walked in four plate appearances. He now has six homers this year. Cooper, a perennially underrated slugger, has been especially excellent over his past 30 games, slashing .368/.419/.547 in 127 plate appearances while adding three homers, 11 runs, and 20 RBI in that span. Fantasy managers will certainly hope for more home runs as the season drags on, but his all-around contributions make him an excellent end-of-the-bench option.

  • Garrett Cooper Activated From COVID Injured List

The Miami Marlins activated first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper from the COVID-19 injured list on Monday, and he returned to the starting lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Aaron Nola, starting at first base and batting second. Cooper went on the COVID injured list last Saturday, but it wasn't a long absence for the 31-year-old. It's great news for fantasy managers, as Cooper is hitting a strong .315/.389/.473 with an .861 OPS, four home runs, 27 RBI and 21 runs scored in 211 plate appearances and 52 games for the Fish this year. So far in June, he's gone 17-for-36 (.472) with a homer and eight RBI in nine games, so you'll want to get him back into your starting lineups.

  • Garrett Cooper Headed To IL

Miami Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper was placed on the IL Saturday without designation. We know by now that this usually means it is COVID related. Cooper will be out until he clears league protocols. The timing could not be worse for Cooper, who has been scorching hot at the dish, with a .472/.513/.667 slash line in June. He has been a hot waiver wire pickup lately, and with how he's hitting he should be rostered in most leagues, even with this trip to the IL.

The Marlins have placed first baseman Garrett Cooper on the injured list without a designation, implying that Cooper’s absence is related to COVID-19.  Right-hander Aneurys Zabala will take Cooper’s spot on the active roster, as the Marlins selected Zabala’s contract from Double-A. It isn’t known if Cooper has tested positive for the virus or if…

  • Garrett Cooper Sitting With Knee Injury Sunday

Miami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (knee) is being held out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Cooper fouled a ball off his left knee during Saturday's game and he exited the contest after the incident. The 31-year-old has been primarily playing first base and designated hitter lately, but Jesus Aguilar will be covering first and Avisail Garcia will be the team's designated hitter on Sunday. It sounds as if Cooper is day-to-day for now. We'll see if he's able to return to action for Monday's series opener against the Washington Nationals.

  • Garrett Cooper Exits Saturday's Game Early

Miami Marlins outfielder Garrett Cooper (leg) exited Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers after fouling a pitch off himself in the bottom of the sixth inning. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI and two strikeouts before leaving. The severity of Cooper's injury is unknown, and he is day-to-day. The 31-year-old was replaced by Erik Gonzalez, with Miguel Rojas shifting over to play first base. Cooper is hitting .264 with two home runs and 12 RBI over 106 at-bats this season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation. Stay tuned.
