  • Matt Olson Hits His 20th Homer On Wednesday

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBI in the team's 7-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday. He has now homered in two straight games and he has a total of 20 home runs on the year, with eight of them coming this month. Olson has been having a solid year overall, but it wasn't until July that his home run total caught up to the rest of his surface numbers. He owns a .252/.339/.499 slash line on the season to go along with 66 RBI and an MLB-leading 35 doubles.

  • Matt Olson Continues Homer Streak

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson homered for the third straight game in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Washington Nationals, going 1-for-4 with his 16th long ball of the year and a strikeout. Olson is now hitting .251/.339/.481 with the 16 round-trippers, 53 RBI and 41 runs scored in 351 at-bats in his first season in Atlanta. In 14 games so far in the month of July, he's hitting .241 (14-for-58) with four home runs, 11 RBI and nine runs scored. Fantasy managers are hoping that Olson's power binge will continue this weekend as the first half of the season comes to a close.

  • Matt Olson Reaches Base Twice On Sunday

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson helped the team defeat the Washington Nationals 4-3 in 12 innings on Sunday. He went 1-for-5 with a single, a walk and a run scored in the game. Olson's first season in Atlanta has been a bit of a mixed bag so far. Over 87 games, he's hit 13 home runs, which has him on a 162-game pace of 26 homers -- an underwhelming pace considering he hit 39 home runs last season. However, he leads the majors in doubles with 33. His 13.4% HR/FB rate has been his Achilles heal thus far. Once that clip becomes closer to his career 20.5%HR/FB rate, we should start to see his overall stats look a bit better.

  • Matt Olson Goes Yard Twice On Tuesday

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson helped the team secure a 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. He went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in the contest. This was his second two-homer game of the month. His last one came on the Tuesday prior against the San Francisco Giants. Olson had only hit six home runs over the first two months of the season, but he's lifted his season-long homer total to 12 by racking up six bombs in June. The 28-year-old owns a .253/.350/.481 slash line on the year to go along with an MLB-leading 29 doubles.

  • Matt Olson Homers Twice, Plates Five Tuesday

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson had a big day at the plate in Tuesday's 12-10 loss to the Giants. Olson went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in the third inning and a two-run HR in the ninth inning. The 28-year-old has hit 27 doubles this season but only has 10 HR to go with 37 RBI and a .251/.353/.468 slash line. Hopefully, some of those doubles will start finding their way over the fence, but fantasy managers should continue to have Olson in their lineups at all times either way.

  • Matt Olson Records Three Doubles

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson was back in the cleanup spot for Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. The lefty slugger recorded three doubles in the victory over Chicago on Sunday. It has been a fairly disappointing campaign for Olson, but hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. Olson only has eight home runs this season, but his 27 doubles leads the MLB right now. Fantasy managers should stay patient with Olson and hope that his bat heats up soon.

  • Matt Olson Slashing .200/.273/.340 In June

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson went 1-for-5 at the plate in the team's 9-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Monday. The 28-year-old has had a quiet month of June thus far. Through 12 games this month, he's slashing .200/.273/.340 with just three extra-base hits (two homers, one double). Olson notched career-highs in both home runs (39) and RBI (111) last year. Over his first 62 games this year, he has just eight home runs and 31 RBI, putting him on a 162-game pace of about 21 home runs and 81 RBI. He's been plagued by a 1.23 GB/FB rate and a 13.1% HR/FB rate this year. If he can get those numbers closer to where they were last year (0.91, 19.3%), we should see him start to turn things around.

  • Matt Olson With Just Five Homers Over 49 Games

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson has been a disappointment for fantasy managers thus far in 2022. Over his first 49 games as an Atlanta Brave, he's slashed .249/.363/.448 with five home runs, 17 RBI and 20 runs. He's currently on a 162-game pace of about 17 home runs and 56 RBI - a far cry from last year's 39 homer, 111 RBI campaign. The 28-year-old has been plagued by ground balls this year. His GB/FB rate is up from 0.91 last year to 1.52 this year. Meanwhile, his HR/FB rate is down from 19.3% last year to 11.9% this year.

  • Matt Olson Struggling Offensively Lately

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson is enduring a bit of a slump as of late. He's just 3-for-23 with six strikeouts over the course of his last six games. Through 41 games in total, Atlanta's big offseason acquisition is slashing .242/.361/.425 with a 21.8 percent strikeout rate and 16.2 percent walk rate. He has hit the ball hard and owns an solid .357 xwOBA, but these metrics haven't translated very well to the Braves' game-by-game box scores. He should continue to be rostered in all fantasy baseball leagues, but it's more than understandable if managers have concerns about starting him day in and day out.
