  • Mookie Betts Taking A Seat On Sunday

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Mookie Betts is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Seattle Mariners. The Dodgers clinched the NL West title on Saturday for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons, so Betts will get the day off for his efforts. The 30-year-old stalwart has been a stud for both the Dodgers and fantasy managers this season, slashing .310/.410/.599 with 39 home runs, 103 RBI, and 13 stolen bases over 539 at-bats on the year. Los Angeles will look to complete the series sweep over the M's without Betts on Sunday.

  • Dodgers Say Mookie Betts Has Bone Bruise

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

CT scans and MRIs taken on Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Mookie Betts' left foot came back clean for structural damage on Friday. This comes after Thursday's X-rays also showed no fractures, so the Dodgers are deeming the 30-year-old's injury a bone bruise. Betts departed LoanDepot Park on crutches after fouling a ball off his left foot in Thursday's game against the Miami Marlins. The perennial All-Star is still unlikely to play during this weekend's series against the Washington Nationals, but LA hopes he dodges the injured list with Betts' next real chance to return arriving at Monday's series opener versus the division-rival San Diego Padres. Betts currently carries on the mend a National League-best .609 SLG, 1.020 OPS, and 172 OPS+ in 133 games (610 plate appearances).

  • Mookie Betts Expected To Miss Weekend Series

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (foot) remains sore and is expected to miss the upcoming weekend series versus the Washington Nationals. Betts was spotted on crutches Thursday after fouling a ball off his left foot, and while X-rays came back negative, he'll need a couple of games off. Manager Dave Roberts expressed optimism that Betts could return on Monday, pending the results of his CT scan.

  • Mookie Betts Leaves Thursday's Game Early

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/second baseman Mookie Betts was taken out of Thursday's game against the Miami Marlins in the eighth inning after fouling a ball off his foot in his first at-bat of the game. Betts was able to play most of the game, so the move seems precautionary with the Dodgers holding a commanding 10-0 lead at the time Betts was taken out. Still, he was seen on crutches as he left the stadium, so it is a situation worth monitoring tomorrow. The MVP candidate went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base before being taken out of the game.

  • Mookie Betts Clubs Two Homers In Loss To Braves

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/second baseman Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk in the team's 8-7 loss to the visiting Atlanta Braves on Thursday night. The impressive performance capped off a franchise-record month in August for the 30-year-old All-Star. Betts finished the month of August with a franchise-record 51 hits in 112 at-bats (.455) with 11 home runs, 10 doubles, 30 RBI, three stolen bases and 35 runs scored in 28 starts. Talk about en fuego. Along with the Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr., Betts is a favorite for National League MVP in 2023. On the year as a whole, he's slashing a sublime .317/.411/.622 with a 1.034 OPS, a career-high 38 long balls, 98 RBI, 10 steals and 116 runs scored in 498 at-bats. He leads the league with his .622 slugging percentage, 1.034 OPS and 310 total bases.

  • Mookie Betts Blasts 35th Home Run In Victory

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Mookie Betts went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer, three RBI, and two runs scored in a 7-4 win over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. Betts stayed hot in this one, slugging his 35th long ball of the year in top of the sixth inning. He took Chris Murphy deep with Austin Barnes aboard to give the Dodgers a 4-0 lead before he singled in Miguel Rojas to extend the Los Angeles lead to 6-2 in the eighth. Betts has simply been on fire over the last 30 games, putting up a ridiculous 1.214 OPS to go along with eight home runs and 26 RBI. He has fewer strikeouts (18) than RBI over that 30-game span, remarkable. Overall, the 30-year-old All-Star is slashing .315/.407/.611 with 35 home runs, 93 RBI, and 10 stolen bases over 483 at-bats. One more home run will give him a new career-high as he smashed 35 home runs in 2022 and has already matched that mark this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (illness) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The 30-year-old has been pulled from the lineup due to an illness. The team is considering Betts as day-to-day, so hopefully he'll return to the lineup on Sunday. Kike Hernandez will replace him at second base and bat sixth versus right-hander Peter Lambert. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday for another update on Betts.

  • Mookie Betts Returns To Dodgers Lineup

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (ankle) is back in right field and batting in his customary leadoff spot on Tuesday against the visiting Oakland Athletics. Fantasy managers will want to get the 30-year-old superstar back in their starting lineups as well after he missed the last few games with right-ankle soreness. Betts is setting the table for one of the best teams in baseball and is slashing .277/.383/.560 with a .942 OPS, 27 home runs, 68 RBI, seven stolen bases and 81 runs scored in 386 at-bats. He's coming off a strong month in July, too, as he went 25-for-82 (.305) with five home runs, eight doubles, 13 RBI and 17 runs scored in 101 trips to the plate over 21 games played.

  • Mookie Betts Still Missing From Sunday's Lineup

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Mookie Betts (ankle) remains absent from Sunday's lineup versus the Cincinnati Reds. The 30-year-old was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to ankle soreness, but this doesn't appear to be a significant setback at this time. The Dodgers are off on Monday, so perhaps they're simply playing things safe with the superstar. Betts should be labeled as day-to-day and fantasy managers can hope he returns for the start of a three-game series with the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday. David Peralta is leading off and watching left field on Sunday.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (ankle) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. It appears the 30-year-old is dealing with right ankle soreness. This sounds like a minor injury and the Dodgers are just holding him out as a precaution. In his absence, Jason Heyward will cover right field, while David Peralta plays left field versus right-hander Luke Weaver. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly with Betts out.

  • Mookie Betts Making Another Run At MVP

    Headshot for Ronald Acuna

In 2018, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts was the American League MVP, slashing .346/.438/.640 and winning a World Series with the Boston Red Sox. With the Dodgers this season, he is batting .285/.385/.587 and has set a franchise record with 10 leadoff home runs. Betts' defensive contributions at shortstop and second base are keeping him in the MVP conversation. His infield contributions can't be ignored, with just three defensive errors on the season. While he is still behind Ronald Acuna Jr., and competing against his teammate, Freddie Freeman, for this year's MVP award, his defensive versatility is keeping him in the conversation.

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Betts drew another start at shortstop in this contest and did his usual, productive thing. He doubled off Johan Oviedo in the first inning and came around to score on a Freddie Freeman home run in the same inning. He would pick up another double in the seventh inning where Freeman would drive him in again with a single. The 30-year-old is now slashing a rock-solid .271/.373/.557 with 23 home runs, 57 RBI, and seven stolen bases over 325 at-bats on the year. He'll be starting in the outfield for the National League in next week's All-Star game in Seattle.

  • Mookie Betts Commits To Home Run Derby

    Headshot for Mookie Betts

Now that Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts has officially been named to the National League All-Star team this year, he has formally committed to take part in this year's Home Run Derby. This will be Betts' first time participating in the event during All-Star week, which will be held in Seattle in 2023. Although he's not typically thought of as a home run hitter, Betts could definitely surprise some folks in this event if he's able to get on a roll. The 30-year-old has mixed in occasionally at middle infield for the Dodgers this year, and he's currently hitting .255 (76-for-298) with 20 home runs, 15 doubles, a triple, 50 RBI, seven stolen bases and 58 runs scored in 76 games. The seven-time All-Star is one of the best overall fantasy assets in the game.
