  • Braves And Twins Also Have Interest In Mitch Haniger

The Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Twins have reportedly shown interest in free agent outfielder Mitch Haniger, per Prospects Lives' Joe Doyle. MLB Networks' Jon Morosi also tweeted Monday that the Dodgers, Angels, and Rangers are interested in the 31-year-old. Haniger has had difficulty staying healthy throughout his career, but he has typically provided power and RBI from an offensive standpoint. He slashed .246/.308/.429 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI in 247 plate appearances with the Mariners in 2022. Haniger will likely be a useful fantasy option in 2023 if he can stay on the field, particularly if he signs with any of the teams reportedly interested in him.

  • Giants, Rangers Among Teams Interested In Mitch Haniger

Though a high ankle sprain and a two-week stint on the COVID-related injured list limited Mitch Haniger to only 58 games last season, the outfielder is drawing a lot of attention on the free agent market.  According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Giants and Rangers are two of the clubs looking at the…

Haniger, 32, is a pending free agent following a season where he slashed .246/.308/.429 in just 57 games as he was limited by ankle and back injuries throughout the year. • Mitch Haniger Goes Deep In Win Over Tigers

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger had a strong game in the team's final regular season game on Wednesday, a 5-4 victory over the visiting Detroit Tigers. Haniger went 2-for-3 with his 11th home run of the season, an RBI, two runs scored and a walk in the win. The 31-year-old is going into the team's Wild-Card Series against the Toronto Blue Jays with a hot bat, as he's hitting .371 (13-for-35) with four home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs scored in his last nine games. On the season as a whole, he's slashing .246/.308/.429 with 11 long balls, 34 RBI and 31 runs scored for the M's in 224 at-bats.

  • Mitch Haniger Pops A Pair Of Home Runs

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger helped his team beat the Texas Rangers 10-9 in a downright offensive explosion by both teams on Thursday. Haniger managed to go 2-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, two runs scored and three strikeouts in the exciting contest. He was the definition of boom and bust for fantasy managers, going deep twice but also striking out in his other three at-bats. The 31-year-old slugger snapped a 25-game streak without clearing the fences and is now hitting .239/.301/.405 with nine home runs, 31 RBI and 27 runs scored in just 205 at-bats for Seattle in 2022. He's closing out the final month of the regular season the right way, going 10-for-31 (.323) with two homers, eight RBI and six runs scored in his last eight games.

  • Mitch Haniger Blasts Two Homers

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger made a significant impact during the 10-9 win over the Texas Rangers on Thursday. The right-handed slugger blasted two home runs in what ended up being a high scoring game. The 31-year-old has nine home runs in 31 RBI through 52 games this season. It has been a down year for Haniger, but at least he's putting it together at the plate.

  • Mitch Haniger Set To Return Sunday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) is expected to start Sunday against the Angels. He is available to pinch hit in Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old hasn't played since exiting last Sunday's game against the Braves early with lower back tightness. He is improving and is set to return to the lineup Sunday. Haniger is slashing .233/.288/.399 with seven home runs, 23 RBI, and 19 runs across 177 plate appearances in 41 games in 2022. Fantasy managers should check on Sunday to ensure Haniger is starting before inserting him into their lineups.

  • Mitch Haniger Remains Out On Saturday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) won't play in Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. It has been almost a week since Haniger last played. The organization mentioned that Haniger is improving, but they want to remain cautious. Luckily, Haniger is only dealing with back tightness, so this shouldn't be something that lands him on the injured list. The expectation is that Haniger will only miss another game or two. Sam Haggerty will cover right field and bat eighth against right-hander Shohei Ohtani.

  • Mitch Haniger Still Out Of Mariners Lineup

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels. Haniger showed optimism about being ready to return for the start of their weekend series, but clearly he isn't quite ready yet. He is likely to return at some point this weekend barring a setback. Haniger has not played since last Sunday after suffering a back injury. The 31-year-old slugger was in a major funk in September, slashing .179/.250/.256 with no homers in 10 games. When he returns he could be of some use in medium/deep leagues, but he is certainly not a must start at this point.

  • Mitch Haniger Still Out Wednesday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres. Haniger suffered a back injury on Sunday and may not be able to return to the lineup until after an off day on Thursday for the start of a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. The oft-injured 31-year-old veteran is hitting .233/.288/.399 with seven home runs, 23 RBI and 19 runs scored in only 163 at-bats on the season. Sam Haggerty will get another start in right field on Wednesday and will hit eighth against Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger. Haggerty went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in a start on Tuesday, and he's hitting just .188 (3-for-16) with a homer and two RBI in 10 games so far in September.

  • Mitch Haniger Not Starting Against Padres

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. Haniger will start on the bench after leaving the game early on Sunday with lower back tightness. He should be considered day-to-day for now. The 31-year-old veteran has only had 163 at-bats this year and is hitting .233/.288/.399 with seven home runs, 23 RBI and 19 runs scored in 41 games played. With Haniger out on Tuesday, Sam Haggerty is starting in right field and is hitting eighth in the batting order against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish. Haggerty is a low-upside DFS option at the bottom of the order, but he's hitting a nice .294/.353/.478 with an .831 OPS, five homers, 17 RBI, 26 runs and 11 stolen bases on the year in 136 at-bats.

  • Mitch Haniger Doubles Thursday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger had a couple of hits with a double in Thursday's 7-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers. He's now slashing .256/.304/.450 with 17 runs and 19 RBI on the season. Haniger dealt with an ankle injury for most of the year, but it hasn't hurt his ability to go deep after he crushed 39 homers in 2021, homering seven times over 32 games. Fantasy managers have good reason to trust in the 31-year-old to keep contributing good numbers in the home run department.
