  • Daniel Vogelbach Hits Grand Slam

New York Mets designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach hit his first home run as a member of the team Wednesday, a towering grand slam off of Washington Nationals relief pitcher Jordan Weems in a 9-5 victory. Vogelbach has been very productive since coming over from the Pirates, slashing .308/.471/.500 in 33 plate appearances. He now has 13 homers, 32 runs scored, and 38 RBI with a .790 OPS in 310 plate appearances this season. He should only play against righties, and that makes him a very solid option in fantasy leagues with daily lineup changes.

  • Mets get DH Vogelbach from Pirates for reliever

The Mets Mets added some much-needed punch at designated hitter Friday, acquiring Daniel Vogelbach from the Pirates in a trade for rookie reliever Colin Holderman.

  • Mets Acquire Daniel Vogelbach From Pirates

The New York Mets have acquired first baseman Daniel Vogelbach from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for rookie reliever Colin Holderman. Vogelbach is likely to primarily DH against right-handed pitching for the Mets, who have struggled to find someone to fill that spot. The burly lefty is only slashing .228/.338/.430 but has a .896 OPS against righties. He might be worth a look in deeper daily leagues where owners can sit him when he isn't playing. As for Holderman, he has shown some promise out of the bullpen and has team control, which is good for the rebuilding Pirates. He doesn't hold any fantasy value.

  • Mets And Pirates Have Discussed Daniel Vogelbach Trade

The New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates have had trade conversations in regards to first baseman Daniel Vogelbach, according to sources of Metsmerized's Michael Mayer. It's been no secret that the Mets are looking to add another designated hitter option with both Dominic Smith and J.D. Davis struggling all year. Trey Mancini and Nelson Cruz are other sluggers who have been linked to the Mets as potential trade targets. Vogelbach is currently in his first year with the Pirates and he's had an inconsistent season at the plate. Over 75 games, he's slashed .228/.338/.430 while compiling 12 home runs, 34 RBI and 29 runs.

  • Daniel Vogelbach, Heath Hembree Placed On Injured List

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed first baseman Daniel Vogelbach (hamstring) and relief pitcher Heath Hembree (calf) on the injured list on Tuesday. Vogelbach is on the 10-day list while Hembree is on the 15-day list, retroactive to May 21. Right-handed pitcher Roansy Contreras was called up to start Tuesday's game in a corresponding move. Meanwhile, outfielder Cal Mitchell was recalled as well. Vogelbach is off to a solid start to his first year with the Pirates. Over 34 games, he's slashing .241/.321/.457 with six home runs, 14 RBI and 14 runs. His injury designation is a left hamstring strain.
