  • Travis Jankowski Elects Free Agency

The Mariners announced that outfielder Travis Jankowski has passed through waivers unclaimed. He’s refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Tacoma in favor of free agency. As a player with five-plus years of MLB service time, Jankowski can head to the open market while still collecting the remaining guarantees on his contract. Jankowski had a very brief…

  • Travis Jankowski Designated For Assignment

The Seattle Mariners designated outfielder Travis Jankowski for assignment on Friday in order to make room for newly acquired infielder/outfielder Jake Lamb. Lamb, a Seattle native, wasn't in the lineup on Friday against Los Angeles Angels left-hander Patrick Sandoval, but he'll likely be used regularly against right-handed pitchers, against whom he has an .808 OPS this year. He'll likely play a corner outfield spot and third base on days that Eugenio Suarez is rested. Jankowski was primarily used as a defensive replacement and a pinch-runner in his time with Seattle and he appeared in just one game. In 43 games with the New York Mets this year, he was 9-for-55 (.164) with no homers, two RBI and three stolen bases.

  • Mariners Designate Travis Jankowski For Assignment

The Mariners announced they’ve designated outfielder Travis Jankowski for assignment. The move opens an active roster spot for corner infielder/outfielder Jake Lamb, who has reported to the club. Seattle acquired Lamb from the Dodgers in the hours leading up to the trade deadline. The M’s 40-man roster count falls to 39. Jankowski was just claimed off waivers…

  • Mariners Claim Travis Jankowski, Designate Danny Young

The Mariners have claimed outfielder Travis Jankowski off waivers from the Mets, per a team announcement. Left-hander Danny Young was designated for assignment to open a spot on the roster. Seattle also announced that outfielder Marcus Wilson, who was designated for assignment Friday, cleared waivers and has been assigned outright to Triple-A Tacoma. Jankowski was…

  • Mets Designate Travis Jankowski For Assignment

The Mets have designated outfielder Travis Jankowski for assignment, tweets Tim Britton of the Athletic. The move clears an active roster spot for the recently-acquired Tyler Naquin. New York also recalled Sam Clay and Stephen Nogosek, optioned David Peterson to Triple-A Syracuse and confirmed the previously-reported placement of Drew Smith on the 15-day injured list. Adding Naquin supplanted Jankowski as the left-handed…

  • Travis Jankowski Could Be Back Early Next Week

New York Mets outfielder Travis Jankowski (hand) could be activated from the 10-day injured list some time early next week, according to Mets manager Buck Showalter. The 31-year-old has been out since late May after fracturing his left hand. He's been held to just 33 games in his first season with the Mets, during which he's slashed .209/.292/.209 with no extra-base hits and three stolen bases. He'll return to a reserve outfielder role for the team once he's activated.

  • Travis Jankowski Has Surgery On Fractured Hand

New York Mets outfielder Travis Jankowski (hand) had surgery on Friday to fix a metacarpal fracture on his left hand. The Mets placed him on the 10-day injured list, and he's expected to miss six to eight weeks. In corresponding moves, the team recalled right-handed pitchers Stephen Nogosek and Yoan Lopez from the minors. Jankowski had been serving as a bench outfielder for the Mets and therefore wasn't of much use to fantasy managers. He had been hitting .209 (9-for-43) with no home runs, two RBI, 11 runs scored and three stolen bases in 33 games played.
