  • J.T. Realmuto Sitting On Thursday

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Miami Marlins. It will be a normal day of rest for Realmuto. Since the All-Star break, Realmuto has been hot, going 18-for-50 (.360) with five home runs, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored in 14 games to raise his season line to .268/.339/.455 with 13 home runs, 54 RBI, 52 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 378 plate appearances. When he's on the field, Realmuto is a must-start in fantasy. Garrett Stubbs is doing the catching on Thursday and is hitting eighth against Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera. Stubbs will be a low-upside DFS play on Thursday. He's hitting .270 on the year but has just four home runs and 11 RBI in 30 games played.

  • J.T. Realmuto On The Bench Against Pirates On Thursday

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is getting the day off on Thursday as the team takes on right-hander Zach Thompson and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Garrett Stubbs will be handling catching duties for the game. This will be Realmuto's second day off over the team's last five games. The 31-year-old has been having his best month at the plate in July. He owns a month-long slash line of .339/.391/.607 to go along with four home runs, three stolen bases, 15 RBI and seven runs. Expect to see him back behind the plate on Friday.

  • J.T. Realmuto Resting On Friday

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto (rest) is out of the starting lineup for the first game of the doubleheader on Friday. Fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned as this appears to be a routine day off. The superstar catcher is expected to be in the lineup for the second game versus the Washington Nationals. In the meantime, Garrett Stubbs will do the catching and bat ninth versus right-hander Joan Adon. Fantasy managers can assume Realmuto will be in the lineup for the nightcap.

  • J.T. Realmuto Back In The Lineup On Saturday

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is back in the lineup on Saturday vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old catcher had a day off on Friday but he's back in there against D-Backs' starter Madison Bumgarner on Saturday. Realmuto has had a lackluster first half of the season so far, slashing just .242/.316/.366 with five home runs, 20 RBI, and five stolen bases over 186 at-bats.

  • J.T. Realmuto Enjoying Modest Five-Game Hitting Streak

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto went 1-for-3 and scored a run in Friday's 10-0 blowout win against the Los Angeles Angels. The hit was just a single, but he's now hit safely in five straight games and nine of his last 10. This stretch has brought Realmuto's batting average to .248 after batting .224 through May 22. Across 46 games, the 31-year-old has just three home runs, 16 RBI, 24 runs, and four stolen bases. Although Realmuto is still being aggressive on the basepaths, fantasy managers have to be disappointed with his production thus far.

  • J.T. Realmuto Hitting .169/.246/.271 In May

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto has been slumping at the plate so far in May. Over 16 appearances this month, he is slashing .169/.246/.271 with just three extra-base hits: a home run, a double and a triple. The 31-year-old veteran currently has an average exit velocity of 86.3 mph, which is down significantly from what we're used to seeing from him. He was right around 90 mph in each of the last three years and his career average is 89 mph. Meanwhile, his hard-hit rate is down from 44.7% last year to 35.1% this year. Very few catchers across the league are providing much value for fantasy managers thus far, so we encourage patience with Realmuto, who has been a mainstay atop the catcher rankings for several years.
