  • Christian Yelich Goes Hitless Against Dodgers

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich went 0-for-2 with two walks in Monday's 4-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fantasy managers weren't complaining about the two walks, but Yelich has been ice-cold at the plate out of the leadoff spot for the Brew Crew of late. In 12 games in August, he's hitting .159 (7-for-44) with no homers, no RBI and 12 strikeouts in 54 plate appearances. In his last seven games, he's hitless in 25 at bats with eight strikeouts. The 30-year-old left-handed hitter is batting .250/.356/.373 with eight home runs, 35 RBI, 71 runs scored and 16 stolen bases on the season in 408 at-bats. Fantasy managers should probably consider benching him right now until he shows some signs of life with the stick.

  • Christian Yelich Feeling Better

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is telling people that he is feeling better at the moment, but it's unclear how much his back issues that cropped up a couple years ago have curtailed his production -- moving him from an MVP level to the ranks of average. Yelich said earlier this year that he was feeling discomfort in a different part of his back, but he says he's doing better now. The 30-year-old has gone 3-for-11 with two walks and three strikeouts in four games since his return to close out the first half of the season, and he has a .251/.347/.379 slash line with eight home runs, 31 RBI, 59 runs scored and 13 stolen bases heading into the second half of the season. The Brewers and fantasy managers alike really need him to be healthy for the stretch run.

  • Christian Yelich Returns To Lineup Friday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is back in the lineup on Friday after a three-game absence. Yelich will hit leadoff and play left field against San Francisco Giants left-hander Alex Wood. The veteran outfielder had been dealing with mid-back tightness, which caused him to be scratched from Tuesday's lineup, but he's apparently feeling good enough to take the field Friday. Yelich is hitting .250 with eight homers, 57 runs, 31 RBI and 13 steals across 316 at-bats in 2022 and is a career .406 hitter against Wood.

  • Christian Yelich Remains Sidelined Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants. Yelich was a late scratch for Tuesday's starting lineup due to mid-back tightness, and he hasn't played since, although the Brewers don't believe it's as serious as the back issues that plagued him last year. With the All-Star break coming next week, it's possible Milwaukee plays it safe and holds the 30-year-old out until the start of the second half of the season. Andrew McCutchen is in left field and is batting leadoff, while catcher Pedro Severino serves as the designated hitter and bats eighth against Giants left-hander Carlos Rodon on Thursday. McCutchen is the much more attractive DFS play. He's hitting only .218 (17-for-78) with three homers and 10 RBI against lefties this year, but he's also gone 15-for-47 (.319) with two long balls and five RBI in 11 games over the last two weeks.

  • Christian Yelich Remains Out Wednesday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is improved on Wednesday, but he won't be in the starting lineup against the Minnesota Twins. There's a chance that he'll play against the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, but it's more likely that he'll return on Friday. Yelich was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with mid-back tightness, an issue he's dealt with in the past, so it's good to see that he's feeling better already. However, it'll be something to keep an eye on for the 30-year-old left-handed hitter. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Jonathan Davis entered the starting lineup on Tuesday in the outfield and will likely play again on Wednesday against Twins right-hander Joe Ryan. Davis has gone 10-for-44 (.227) this year with no homers, two RBI and five stolen bases.

  • Christian Yelich Picks Up Two Hits Vs. Rays Wednesday

Milwaukee Brewers star outfielder Christian Yelich picked up two hits and struck out twice during Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. This was Yelich's second time picking up two hits in as many days against the Rays, and it was his third multi-hit game in the last four contests. Yelich is swinging the bat well in June, slashing .277/.370/.362 with 14 walks drawn. Yelich is an everyday starter in standard fantasy leagues.

  • Christian Yelich Homers Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich homered in a losing effort on Thursday as his club fell 5-4 to the Mets. He clubbed a solo shot off Tylor Megill in the fourth inning for his only hit of the game as he finished the contest going 1-for-5 with three strikeouts. Yelich has gotten some run out of the leadoff spot for the Brew Crew by hitting atop the lineup in each of his last eight games and getting a hit in all of those contests as well. The 30-year-old is still hitting a modest .242/.325/.386 with seven homers, 39 runs, 23 RBI, and nine steals, but with Kolten Wong returning from the IL this weekend, we'll see if Yelich can hold him off from the top of the lineup card.

  • Christian Yelich Leading Off On Wednesday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich will serve as the team's leadoff hitter for the first time this season as the team takes on right-hander Aaron Nola and the Philadelphia Phillies. Kolten Wong (calf) has been the team's primary leadoff hitter this year, but he was lifted from Tuesday's game with a calf injury and he's being held out on Wednesday. Yelich doesn't have the most alluring surface numbers so far this year as he's slashing .224/.316/.363 with five home runs, seven stolen bases, 21 RBI and 33 runs over 54 games. However, there's plenty to like from his underlying metrics, including an 89th percentile average exit velocity (91.7 mph) and a 95th percentile hard-hit rate (51.4%). Fantasy managers should start to see the 30-year-old veteran produce some more impressive numbers in the months to come.

  • Cristian Yelich Continues To Slump

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich's 80 ADP on draft day seems preposterous at this point. Ironically, he has reduced swinging strikes and made more contact this season. It just hasnt led to a better results just yet. Despite his lukewarm production, StatCast indicates that hes improved against breaking balls. It was the main reason why he hasnt been productive since his MVP season. It remains to be seen if he can start hitting breaking balls in the coming days. Fantasy managers should be patient and hold onto him.
