  • Jose Altuve To Sit In Regular Season Finale

Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker said that he will sit second baseman Jose Altuve in the regular season finale on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Altuve recorded three hits on Tuesday in what will be his final regular season game in 2022. If the 32-year-old veteran doesn't come off the bench Wednesday, he'll finish another strong campaign with a .300/.387/.533 slash line with a .921 OPS, 28 home runs, 57 RBI, 103 runs scored and 18 stolen bases in 604 plate appearances and 141 games played. The eight-time All-Star will rest up for the start of the American League Division Series, which begins next week.

  • Jose Altuve Getting A Day Off

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. It looks to be just a normal day of rest for the 32-year-old All-Star. Fantasy managers must act accordingly and send him to their benches for the day. Altuve is wrapping up a very strong month at the dish, hitting .357 (30-for-84) with six home runs, nine RBI, 24 runs scored and six stolen bases in 22 games in September. He's a no-brainer must-start down the stretch when he's in the lineup. Aledmys Diaz is starting at second base and batting second on Wednesday against Diamondbacks right-hander Zac Gallen. Diaz is in a nice lineup spot for DFS production, but he's facing one of the best pitchers in baseball this year.

  • Jose Altuve Back In Action Friday

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (elbow) is back at second base and is leading off on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Dean Kremer. Altuve missed Thursday's game after getting hit in the elbow by a pitch earlier this week, but he'll be back for the weekend series against Baltimore. Fantasy managers can go ahead and insert the 32-year-old veteran back into their starting lineups. Altuve has been scorching hot in the month of September, going 24-for-69 (.348) with three home runs, five RBI, 16 runs scored and six stolen bases in 18 games, and he's riding a modest four-game hitting streak going into Friday's game against the O's.

  • Jose Altuve Not Playing Against Orioles

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (elbow) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles. Altuve left Wednesday's game early after he was hit by a pitch on the elbow, so he'll take a day off on Thursday. The good news is that X-rays came back negative and he expects to be back in the lineup on Friday against Baltimore. With Altuve on the bench, veteran utility man Aledmys Diaz will start at second base and bat seventh against Orioles right-hander Kyle Bradish. Diaz has only played in five games so far in the month of September, but he's gone 6-for-18 (.333) with two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored.

  • Jose Altuve Is Considered Day-To-Day

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (elbow) was pulled out of Wednesday's contest after getting hit by a pitch. The organization believes that the veteran infielder has avoided a serious injury. He has been diagnosed with left elbow discomfort and is considered day-to-day. It doesn't sound like something that is going to cost Altuve more than a game or two. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.

  • Jose Altuve Resting On Thursday

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Oakland Athletics. It appears to just be a normal day of rest for the everyday second baseman, but fantasy managers must act accordingly. The 32-year-old veteran has been swinging a hot bat in the month of September, going 16-for-49 (.327) with two home runs, four RBI, 10 runs scored and five stolen bases in 12 games. Altuve remains a must-start whenever he's in the lineup. Veteran utility man Aledmys Diaz is starting at second base and is hitting second on Thursday against A's right-hander James Kaprielian. Diaz has some DFS sleeper potential in the two-hole, and he's hitting .283 (13-for-46) with a homer, seven RBI and four runs scored in his last 13 games, dating back to Aug. 1.

  • Jose Altuve Out With Sore Shoulder Sunday

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (shoulder) is out of the starting lineup on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves due to a sore shoulder, according to skipper Dusty Baker. Fantasy managers should consider Altuve day-to-day for now. With Aledmys Diaz (groin) on the injured list, the Astros called up David Hensley from Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday. Mauricio Dubon is starting at second base on Sunday and is hitting leadoff against Braves right-hander Charlie Morton. Dubon will have some sleeper DFS appeal out of the top spot in the Astros lineup, but he's hitting just .217/.262/.326 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored and one stolen base in 175 at-bats on the season.

  • Jose Altuve Retreats To The Bench On Tuesday

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is getting the day off on Tuesday as the team takes on right-hander Frankie Montas and the Oakland Athletics. Aledmys Diaz will be handling second base duties for the game. This will be Altuve's first day off since the All-Star break. Altuve homered twice this past weekend and he has scored a total of five runs over six games since the break. The 32-year-old veteran owns a stellar .277/.363/.518 slash line this year to go along with 19 home runs, 36 RBI and 54 runs.

  • Jose Altuve Homers In Three-Hit Game

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored against the Seattle Mariners Friday, leading the team to a 5-2 victory over the division rivals. It's Altuve's first multiple-hit game since July 3, and he raised his season slash line to .276/.366/.519 with the performance. Altuve has 18 homers, eight steals, 52 runs scored, and 32 RBI in 293 at-bats this year. He remains among the very best fantasy options in the game at second base.

  • Jose Altuve Back At Second Base

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (leg) is back at second base on Sunday against Oakland Athletics right-hander Adam Oller after he served as the designated hitter on Saturday. Altuve is also in his customary leadoff spot. The 32-year-old All-Star sat out of Friday's game after being hit by a pitch on Thursday. Although he'll sit out of the All-Star game next week, Altuve should be just fine for the start of the second half of the season. Altuve went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in Saturday's game, and he's hitting .276/.371/.524 with an .895 OPS, 17 home runs, 33 RBI, 48 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 318 plate appearances on the season. Keep him in your starting lineups.

  • Jose Altuve Back In The Lineup Saturday

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (leg) is back in the starting lineup on Saturday against Oakland Athletics left-hander Jared Koenig, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff. Altuve missed Friday's game after getting hit by a pitch on Thursday, but fantasy managers can get the 32-year-old back into their lineups. He is being replaced by Toronto Blue Jays infielder Santiago Espinal on the American League All-Star team as a precaution. Altuve has been hot in July, hitting .350 (14-for-40) with two home runs and seven RBI in 12 games, and he's batting .277/.373/.528 with a .900 OPS, 17 home runs, 33 RBI, 48 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 271 at-bats this year. Get him back into your lineups.

  • Jose Altuve Held Out Of Lineup Friday

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (leg) is not in the starting lineup against the Oakland Athletics on Friday. Altuve was hit in the left leg in the first inning of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Angels and was removed from the game shortly after. He is considered day-to-day for now, with Mauricio Dubon replacing him at second base and also leading off for the Astros. The hope for the Astros and fantasy managers is that Altuve can get back in the lineup soon, as the stalwart has a .277 AVG, 17 homers, and eight steals, making him a true five-category stud.
