  • Giants Activate Brandon Crawford, Joc Pederson

San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford (knee) and outfielder Joc Pederson (concussion) have both been activated from the injured list, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports. Crawford has been sidelined since July 15th. The 35-year-old is slashing .215/.297/.332 with five homers, 33 RBI, 7.9 BB%, and 20.4 K% this year. Unless he turns things around offensively, Crawford should be left on waivers in most leagues. Pederson, on the other hand, has fared a bit better, slashing .242/.319/.492 with 17 homers, 43 RBI, 9.1 BB%, and 22.1 K%. He has been on the seven-day concussion injured list since July 28th. Pederson is a true power threat and should be rostered in most fantasy leagues.

  • Joc Pederson To Return On Saturday

San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson (concussion) will return from the seven-day injured list on Saturday, with infielder Thairo Estrada (concussion) likely returning a day later on Sunday. Pederson has been out of action since July 29, but he should return to San Francisco's starting lineup on Saturday against the Oakland Athletics. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger was named to his second All-Star team in 2022 and is currently hitting .242/.319/.492 with an .811 OPS, 17 home runs, 43 RBI, 36 runs scored and three stolen bases in 285 plate appearances and 87 games. Pederson was rumored to be a trade candidate at the deadline earlier this week, but he ended up staying with the Giants. He'll continue to be a power threat for fantasy managers in all leagues the rest of the way.

  • Braves Could Reunite With Joc Pederson

The Atlanta Braves are looking for outfield help at the trade deadline, according to a source, and they could reunite with San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson (concussion), but the Giants are four games out of a wild-card spot and haven't decided if they'll be sellers. A rival executive believes the Giants are "ready to sell" after losing eight of nine games since the All-Star break. Pederson is currently on the concussion injured list, but the Braves remember his strong postseason run a year ago with them and might want him back for the stretch run again this year. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger made his second All-Star appearance this year and is currently hitting .242/.319/.492 with an .811 OPS, 17 home runs, 43 RBI, 36 runs scored and three stolen bases in 87 games.

  • Joc Pederson Placed On Concussion IL

San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday. Pederson was replaced on the active roster by Jason Vosler, who was recalled from Triple-A. Without Pederson, the Giants will start LaMonte Wade Jr. in left field as they open up their weekend series against the Chicago Cubs. Pederson is hitting .242 with 17 homers, 36 runs, 43 RBI, and three steals over 285 at-bats in 2022.

  • Giants Intend To Keep Carlos Rodon, Joc Pederson

The San Francisco Giants continue to convey to other teams that they aren't sellers, and at the moment they intend to hang on to possible free-agent starting pitcher Carlos Rodon and outfielder Joc Pederson. Rodon signed a two-year deal in the offseason, but he has triggered an opt-out clause after going past 110 innings this year. The Giants have gone 3-7 in their last 10 games and are currently at 48-50 and 17.5 games behind the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. They also sit 3.5 games out of the second wild-card spot in the NL. Rodon and Pederson have both been great for the Giants this year and made the All-Star team, so they'd like to hang onto them if they think a postseason appearance is possible.

  • Joc Pederson Declines HR Derby Invite

San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson (back, neck) declined an invite to the Home Run Derby during All-Star week because he's dealing with some minor neck and back issues. Pederson said the first time he participated in the Home Run Derby that he was sore for two days. The 30-year-old is sitting against a left-hander on Wednesday, and he's struggled so far in July, going 4-for-31 (.129) with no homers, two RBI and seven strikeouts in 10 games played. Pederson was selected to his second career All-Star team this year in his first year in San Francisco. He's hitting .256/.332/.529 with an .861 OPS, 17 home runs, 41 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases in 253 plate appearances over 75 games.

  • Joc Pederson Continues Homer Binge

San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 9-3 victory over the New York Mets. This follows up a heroic effort the prior evening, when Pederson slugged three home runs and singled in six at-bats, driving in eight runs in the process. Pederson is now up to a .260/.331/.606 slash line for the season with 11 homers, 17 runs, and 24 RBI. He should be rostered in all formats, at least until he hits an inevitable cold streak.

  • Joc Pederson On The Bench Wednesday

San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson is on the bench on Wednesday for a matchup with the Colorado Rockies and left-handed starter Kyle Freeland. Only eight of Pederson's 100 plate appearances this season have come against left-handed pitchers. Mike Yastrzemski is moving over to right field instead and batting ninth, while Austin Slater will play center field and hit leadoff. Slater is batting .255 with a .414 on-base percentage, two home runs, and a pair of stolen bases in 70 plate appearances this season. He could be worth a look as a streaming option for fantasy managers in deeper leagues where on-base percentage is part of the scoring.
