  • Bryce Harper Making His Return On Saturday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) is officially back in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He will be slotting in at designated hitter and batting third. Harper missed each of the team's last five games due to the right UCL sprain that's been hampering him for nearly a month now. He had initially been playing through the injury, and hitting extremely well. However, he had a PRP injection in his elbow this past weekend and the team kept him out of action in the following five games as he recovered from it. Fantasy manager can safely slide the Phillies star back into their lineups for Saturday's slate.

  • Bryce Harper To Miss His Fifth Straight Game Friday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) will be sidelined once again on Friday as the team takes on left-hander Julio Urias and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kyle Schwarber will be slotting in as the team's designated hitter for the game. This will be Harper's fifth consecutive missed game due to the right UCL sprain that he initially suffered back in April. He'd been playing through the pain for awhile, but he received a PRP injection to treat his elbow this past Sunday and the team is being extra cautious with him following the injection.

  • Bryce Harper Remains Out Against Padres

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) remains out of the starting lineup on Thursday for the series finale against the San Diego Padres. Harper sprained his right UCL early in the year and has mainly been the team's designated hitter, but he will miss his fourth straight game this week after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection last weekend. Last year's MVP continues to hit the ball when he's been in the lineup, slashing .305/.361/.634 with a .994 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI, 29 runs scored and six stolen bases in 34 games. The 29-year-old won't be playing right field anytime soon, but there's a chance he'll be back in the Phillies lineup this weekend. As soon as he's back in there as the DH, fantasy managers will want to get him back into their lineups. Catcher J.T. Realmuto is serving as the DH on Thursday and will hit fifth against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish.

  • Bryce Harper To Miss His Third Straight Game Wednesday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) will be held out of action for the third straight game on Wednesday as the team takes on left-hander Blake Snell and the San Diego Padres. Kyle Schwarber will be slotting in as the team's designated hitter for the game. Harper received a PRP injection in his right elbow on Sunday. The hope is that he will be back in the lineup very soon, but he won't be playing the field for quite a while. The doctor who gave him his PRP injection recommended for Harper to not throw for six weeks, meaning it won't be until late July at the earliest that he could be back in the field. Over 34 games on the year, the 29-year-old is slashing .305/.361/.634 with nine home runs, 27 RBI and 29 runs.

  • Bryce Harper Could Return Wednesday Or Thursday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) is being held out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Tuesday. The 29-year-old received a PRP injection on his right elbow on Sunday. The hope is that the PRP injection will heal the small tear in his UCL. When speaking to reporters on Tuesday about when he will be back in the starting lineup, Harper said, "either tomorrow or hopefully Thursday." He also added that he's more than a month away from playing right field again. Despite the elbow injury, Harper is off to a great start to the year from a statistical standpoint, slashing .305/.361/.634 with nine home runs, 27 RBI and 29 runs over 34 games.

  • Bryce Harper Not Playing Tuesday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. Harper will miss his second straight game as he continues to receive platelet-rich plasma injections for his injured right elbow. Despite serving as the designated hitter and playing through pain, the 29-year-old continues to swing a hot bat, as he's slashing .396/.434/.917 with a 1.351 OPS, six home runs, 13 RBI, 12 runs scored and three stolen bases in 12 games in the month of May. When Harper rejoins the lineup, get him back into all starting fantasy lineups. Nick Castellanos is serving as the designated hitter on Tuesday and is batting cleanup against Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger, with Odubel Herrera in right field and batting sixth.

  • Bryce Harper To Sit Out On Sunday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Harper will get a much deserved day off after collecting three hits on Saturday. The 29-year-old is playing through partially torn UCL. That being said, there could be more rest days for Harper in the future, so the Phillies can make sure this doesn't become a bigger issue.

  • Bryce Harper Has A UCL Tear

Philadelphia Phillies manager Joe Girardi said that the team had another test done on outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) last week that showed a small tear in his UCL. Dr. ElAttrache confirmed the small tear on Thursday morning. Harper will be shut down from throwing for four weeks, with the hope that he'll resume a throwing program after that. The 29-year-old has been the exclusive designated hitter since April 17 because of the injury, and that will through at least the middle of June. Harper will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection this weekend, and he will sit out of the lineup on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fantasy managers have to be thankful for the universal DH this year. Otherwise, Harper would be on the 60-day injured list, most likely.

  • Bryce Harper Swipes Three Bags In Series Against Mariners

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper had a fantastic three-game series against the Seattle Mariners this week. He went 6-for-11 for two doubles, two walks and three runs scored. Most surprisingly, he attempted three stolen bases in the series and was successful on each occasion. The 29-year-old now has six stolen bases over 31 games on the year, putting him on a 162-game pace of slightly more than 30 steals. Last year, he only attempted 16 stolen bases over 141 games (successfully stealing 13 bags). We'd bet heavily on his steal rate decreasing the rest of the way in 2022, but the stolen bags thus far have certainly been a nice bonus for fantasy managers at the very least.

  • Bryce Harper Goes 0-For-4 In Tuesday's Loss

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in the team's 6-4 loss to the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. The 29-year-old is currently in the midst of a bit of a slump at the plate. In this past weekend's series against the New York Mets, he managed just one hit over 11 at-bats. Luckily, that one hit was a solo home run. Over 24 games on the season, Harper is slashing .242/.304/.473 with four home runs, three stolen bases, 15 RBI and 18 runs scored. Fantasy managers should expect to see better numbers soon as he's carrying some impressive underlying stats such as a 53% hard-hit rate (91st percentile), 113.8 mph max exit velocity (95th percentile) and .572 xSLG (88th percentile).

  • Bryce Harper's Throwing Session Doesn't Go Well

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) said he didn't feel great after playing catch on Tuesday in right field. The Phillies will re-evaluate him on Wednesday, but there is no timetable for when Harper will return to right field. The good news is he won't need to go on the injured list, since he can continue to serve as the designated hitter for now. The 29-year-old hasn't played the field since April 16 due to a right elbow injury, and he will play exclusively at DH until at least May 3. Last year's National League MVP continues to swing the bat well despite his elbow injury, as he has an .870 OPS, two home runs, six RBI and six runs scored in eight games as the Phillies DH. Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber will continue to see more time in the outfield with Harper injured.

  • Bryce Harper To Test His Arm Tuesday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) is scheduled to test his injured right elbow on Tuesday by throwing in a pre-game workout in Philadelphia. However, even in a best-case scenario, it's doubtful that Harper will play defense this week, according to manager Joe Girardi. The team will want him to increase the intensity and distance of his throws before putting him back in the outfield in a game. Harper, who was diagnosed with an elbow strain, will continue to be the designated hitter for four games at home this week against the Colorado Rockies and a three-game weekend series against the division-rival New York Mets. He's been the DH for seven straight games, including Sunday night against the Milwaukee Brewers. When Harper is healthy, Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos will see most of the DH at-bats.

  • Bryce Harper Has Mild Strain, Will Continue To DH

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper's (elbow) MRI exam showed a mild strain of his right elbow, and he won't throw again until next Tuesday. However, he will continue to serve as the designated hitter and bat third on Friday against Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta. If the DH weren't available in the National League, Harper would've needed a trip to the injured list. The 29-year-old superstar hasn't played in the field since last Saturday, but he'll make his fifth straight start as the DH to open the series with Milwaukee. Harper has only 11 hits in his first 58 plate appearances, but he does have two home runs, 10 RBI and a stolen base, so fantasy managers must keep him in their daily lineups.

  • Bryce Harper Playing Through Elbow Soreness

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) is currently dealing with right elbow soreness. According to Phillies manager Joe Girardi, the soreness isn't affecting Harper at the plate. It's only a nuisance when Harper is throwing from the outfield. The 29-year-old played designated hitter on Sunday and he will continue to play designated hitter during the team's three-game series against the Colorado Rockies, which begins on Monday. The reigning NL MVP is slashing .216/.333/.486 with two home runs, nine RBI and nine runs through 10 games on the year. He's slotting in as the team's No. 2 hitter for Monday's contest.

  • Bryce Harper Goes Hitless In Loss To The A's

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in a 4-1 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Sunday. The Phillies couldn't get much of anything going against A's starter Daulton Jefferies and company. They mustered just three hits as a team and didn't get on the scoreboard until the bottom of the ninth inning. Harper has just one hit so far this season and holds a .091/.231/.182 triple-slash line with just one RBI. The reigning NL MVP will be just fine moving forward and there is zero reason to panic three games into the season. He should be able to get things going against Taijuan Walker and the Mets as the Phillies open up a three-game set with their division rival on Monday.

  • Bryce Harper Stumping For Kris Bryant

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper, who won the National League MVP last year, is stumping for free-agent third baseman Kris Bryant, who is one of his good friends and neighbor in Las Vegas. The Phillies have plenty of needs and also options in free agency, and Bryant can fit at either the hot corner or in the outfield. The Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres and New York Mets could be fits for Bryant if he isn't swayed to Philadelphia by Harper. The 30-year-old four-time All-Star and 2016 MVP hit .262/.344/.444 with seven home runs and 22 RBI in 212 plate appearances over 51 games in 2021 after being acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs. In total, Bryant hit .265/.353/.481 with 25 homers, 73 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 144 games.

  • Bryce Harper Continues To Produce At An Elite Level

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper enjoyed another highly productive season in 2021, hitting .309 with a .429 on-base percentage, 35 home runs, and 13 stolen bases in 599 plate appearances. He also added 84 RBI and 101 runs scored while taking home National League MVP honors. Harper has now hit at least 34 home runs while stealing a minimum of 13 bases in each of his last three full seasons. He'll continue to bat in the top third of a quality Phillies lineup that will also include J.T. Realmuto, Jean Segura, and Rhys Hoskins and should be a first-round pick in most leagues.
