Mike Trout At Home Is Fantasy Gold
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout and the team will open up a series at home this weekend against the Twins. Trout is off to a sparkling start, slashing .381/.509/.762 through his first 42 at-bats with four doubles, four homes runs, 10 runs scored, 11 walks and 11 runs batted in. Trout is hitting everything in sight and still is taking his walks, making him one of the most dangerous hitters in the game right now. Trout is even more dangerous when he hits at home. Through his first 19 at-bats hitting at Angel Stadium, Trout is posting a 1.292 OPS after posting a 1.186 mark in 2020. Trout is one of the best in the game and now is a perfect time to deploy him in DFS lineups for this weekend.
Apr 16 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMechanical Adjustments Serving Mike Trout Well
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout has made some mechanical adjustments at the plate, including being more squared in the batter's box. He's gone 13-for-33 to start the year, and his swings are looking more short and powerful than ever. Heading into Tuesday's action, Trout is sporting a .394/.545/.848 slash line with three doubles, four home runs, eight RBI and 11 walks. Is it really surprising to see the three-time American League MVP start off the season hot, though? He currently ranks in the top 10 in Wins Above Replacement, average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage, but we expect him to remain there all season long. While Trout wasn't the consensus top overall fantasy pick this year, he's still considered the best player in the game by many.
Apr 13 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout Has Hits In Six Of First Seven Games
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout will head into the weekend white-hot at the plate to start the season. Through his first 24 at-bats, Trout is slashing .417/.563/.875 with two doubles, three home runs, six runs batted in, seven runs scored and eight walks. Trout is hitting pretty much everything in sight sharply in the middle of a suddenly dangerous lineup. Trout, strangely, struggled on the road during the shortened season last year. The three-time MVP hit only .223 on the road last year but this certainly can be considered an outlier. Trout is a must-start in all fantasy formats and is a strong DFS selection for Friday against the Blue Jays.
Apr 9 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout In Midseason Form
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout's swing is on track, as he homered for a third straight game on Thursday while coming up a triple shy of hitting for the cycle in the extra-inning win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Trout said that he felt his swing was "getting close" after going 2-for-3 with a homer on Monday. His home run on Thursday went a projected 444 feet and also had an exit velocity of 110.6 mph, per Statcast. It's the ninth time in his career that he's gone deep in three straight games. Trout is slashing a cool .417/.563/.875 with five extra-base hits and six RBI in seven games so far this season. In his career against Ross Stripling, who he faced Thursday, Trout is 7-for-10 with three home runs. Continue to start Trout each and every day in your fantasy lineups.
Apr 9 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout Collects Two More Hits
Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout went 2-for-3 with one RBI, one run scored and two walks in the Angels loss on Friday. Trout is hitting the ball sharply in almost every at-bat thus far through the first two games of the season. It is only a matter of time before the All-World player takes a pitch over the fence and will be a fantastic DFS play for this weekend's games.
Apr 3 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout Rallies Angels To Victory
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout went 1-for-2 with an RBI-single and two walks in the Angels 4-3 win over the White Sox on Opening Day. Trout reached base twice before smoking a single into left field in the 8th inning to drive home the tying run as the Angels scored twice in the frame to take the lead. Trout was clutch in the first game of the season and is an easy call in DFS heading into the weekend.
Apr 2 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout Drives In Three On Monday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout enjoyed a strong day at the plate on Monday, driving in three runs against the Cubs. There isn't much to worry about Trout's game with one week left to play in Spring Training but it would be nice to see the MVP-candidate hit the ground running out of the gate. For the spring, Trout is slashing .250/.417/.393 but those numbers should be taken as gospel. Once the bell rings on the regular season, Trout will be an elite, top-three play on a daily basis. As long as he stays healthy, Trout will continue to be one of the most coveted fantasy assets in the game.
Mar 23 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout Collects Two Walks And A Hit On Thursday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout had a solid day at the plate in Thursday's win, drawing two walks and collecting a base hit against the Brewers. Trout is having a bit of a slow start to the spring, as he has just five hits in 27 plate appearances. However, worrying about Trout because of a lack of spring training statistics would be preposterous, given his incredible track record. He placed in the 80th percentile or better in nine statistics last year and has averaged 106 runs, 37 home runs, 89 RBI, 20 stolen bases, and 107 walks over the last five years. He might not swipe as many bases as he used to, but Trout is as safe an option as they come in fantasy baseball heading into his age-29 season.
Mar 18 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout Blasts First Spring Homer
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout hit his first home run of spring training on Thursday, a towering two-run shot off Giants right-hander Johnny Cueto. Trout was previously 2-for-8 in five Cactus League games. Including his home run Thursday, the three-time American League MVP and eight-time All-Star is a career .346 hitter with 27 home runs and 101 RBI in 186 Cactus League games. He was hitting second in the order, but manager Joe Maddon isn't sure where Trout will hit once the season starts. He's mostly hit second in recent years, but Trout batted third after David Fletcher and Jared Walsh for most of 2020. Despite a slight dip in his fantasy ranking within the top five, managers should remain plenty happy if they have the opportunity to take him in the first round of drafts.
Mar 11 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout Batting Second On Friday Against Athletics
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout will make his third start of the spring and bat second against the Athletics on Friday. Trout has one walk and one hit in four plate appearances so far, though this will be his first appearance in the two-hole after batting cleanup in his first two games. The three-time MVP slashed .281/.390/.603 in 53 games last year, which was actually a bit of a down year by his incredible standards. Trout won't steal as many bases as he used to, but this is a guy who produced at least 100 walks, runs, and RBI with 45 homers and a .291 batting average in his last full season in 2019. He's an easy top-five choice in fantasy drafts.
Mar 5 · RotoBaller Angels Mike TroutMike Trout's Numbers Defy The Odds
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is really good at baseball. Nobody can really dispute that, but a deeper dive into his numbers shows just how good he really is at hitting baseballs. Over his last 299 big-league games, he has a .299 batting average, a .440 on-base percentage over his last 440 plate appearances, a .610 slugging percentage in his last 610 games and a 1.020 OPS in his last 1,020 games dating back to May of 2013. The 29-year-old had a career-low .281 average, stole just one base and had his worst strikeout and walk rates since 2015 in the shortened 2020 season. But the three-time MVP and eight-time All-Star remains an elite all-around hitter. He may not be in play as the top overall fantasy pick in 2021, but he's a no-brainer as a top-five selection.
