Starling Marte Resting Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Miami Marlins. Marte will receive a break after starting the team's last nine games. Since the All-Star break, he's hitting .367 (11-for-30) with two home runs, five RBI and five runs scored in seven games to raise his season line to a very strong .301/.349/.477 with an .825 OPS, 11 home runs, 46 RBI, 57 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 342 at-bats in his first year in Queens. Tyler Naquin is starting in right field and is hitting sixth on Sunday against Marlins right-hander Pablo Lopez. Naquin went 0-for-4 in his first game for the Mets since being acquired in a trade with the Reds, but he hit .246 with seven home runs and 33 RBI in 56 games for Cincy this year before the trade.

Starling Marte Hits Walk-Off Single On Wednesday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte helped clinch the team's two-game sweep of the New York Yankees on Wednesday. In the ninth inning of Wednesday's game, he hit a walk-off single that gave the team a 3-2 victory. It was his second single of the night as he went 2-for-5 with three strikeouts. Marte has now recorded exactly two hits in five of his last six games. He has a fantastic .382/.432/.559 slash line across the month of July to go along with three home runs, three doubles and four stolen bases.

Starling Marte Returns Against Cubs
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (groin) is back in right field and is hitting second on Thursday against Chicago Cubs right-hander Keegan Thompson. Marte hasn't played since injuring his groin last Saturday, but fantasy managers will have him back heading into the weekend before next week's All-Star break. The 33-year-old veteran has been a solid contributor for fantasy managers all year, hitting .291/.342/.462 with an .803 OPS, nine home runs, 40 RBI, 50 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 299 at-bats. Fantasy managers are hoping he can pick up where he left off in the month of July, as he's gone 13-for-34 (.382) with two home runs and four RBI in nine games so far this month.

Starling Marte To Miss His Fourth Straight Game Wednesday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (groin) will miss his fourth consecutive game on Wednesday as the team takes on right-hander Charlie Morton and the Atlanta Braves. The 33-year-old veteran injured his groin during this past Saturday's game against the Miami Marlins. On Tuesday, he stated that his groin injury was improving, but that he didn't expect to play in the series finale against the Braves, so it's no surprise that he's sitting on Wednesday. He remains day-to-day for now. We'll see if he's able to make his return on Thursday, when the team opens up a four-game road series against the Chicago Cubs.

Starling Marte Avoids Significant Injury
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (groin) was held out of Sunday's game due to a groin issue. He underwent an MRI that revealed nothing more than tightness. That means, Marte is likely to avoid a trip to the injured list. The 33-year-old outfielder is expected to return to the lineup in the near future, according to manager Buck Showalter. It wouldn't be shocking to see the Mets rest Marte for a day or two. However, it sounds like Marte should be back in the lineup soon, so that's great news for fantasy managers.

Starling Marte Reaches Four Times Tuesday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte reached base in all four of his plate appearances Tuesday, going 2-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base against the Cincinnati Reds. Marte was also picked off first base, giving him 10 stolen bases in 16 attempts this season. Fantasy managers have come to expect a slightly higher rate of success from Marte on the basepaths, but there are surely no complaints about his .306/.379/.541 slash line with five homers, 23 runs scored, 14 RBI, and three stolen bases over his last 30 games. Marte is among the final candidates to start the All-Star Game among NL outfielders, and this late surge makes him a worthy choice.

Starling Marte Returns Against Miami
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (forearm) is back in right field and is hitting second on Friday against Miami Marlins right-hander Pablo Lopez. Marte suffered a bruised right forearm when he was hit by a pitch on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers, but he came off the bench on Thursday and is back in the starting lineup on Friday. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues should be putting the 33-year-old back into their starting lineups. He's been able to contribute across the board in his first year in New York, hitting .284/.329/.446 with seven home runs, 34 RBI, 40 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 237 plate appearances and 54 games.

X-Rays Negative On Starling Marte
X-rays on New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte's hand/wrist came back negative on Wednesday night after he was removed from the game early against the Milwaukee Brewers after being hit on the right wrist by a pitch. Marte is being diagnosed with a contusion and is day-to-day. The 33-year-old looks to have dodged a bullet, but fantasy managers shouldn't be too surprised if he's not in the starting lineup on Thursday against Milwaukee. Marte has contributed across the board for his fantasy managers in his first year with the Mets, as he entered Wednesday's contest with a strong .282/.325/.445 slash line, seven home runs, 34 RBI, 39 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 52 games. Hopefully, he'll be able to return in a day or two.

Starling Marte To Return On Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (quad) will return to the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This is his first time being in the lineup since leaving during Tuesday's game. Marte will start in right field and bat second versus lefty Patrick Sandoval. He's slashing .277/.316/.441 with seven homers, 33 RBI this season. Fantasy managers should make sure Marte is back in their lineups on Sunday.

Starling Marte Remains Sidelined
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (quadriceps) will miss his third consecutive game while dealing with left quadriceps tightness. According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Marte is feeling much better and probably could have played on Saturday, but the Mets aren't gambling with his health. The 33-year-old remains day-to-day. Marte is slashing .277/.316/.441 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 36 runs scored, and eight stolen bases over 50 games in 2022. The veteran outfielder is close to returning and could be back in the lineup for the series finale against the Los Angeles Angels. Jeff McNeil will continue to handle right field duties while Marte is sidelined.

Starling Marte Says He's Day-To-Day
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (quadriceps) said that he's day-to-day and that he expects to avoid the injured list. That's contrary to a report earlier in the day that the Mets anticipated placing him on the injured list after leaving Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres with left quadriceps tightness. The 33-year-old remains out of the lineup on Wednesday, with Nick Plummer entering the lineup as the designated hitter while batting ninth against Padres left-hander Sean Manaea. It remains to be seen if Marte will actually avoid an IL stint, but he's been a must-start in fantasy this year with a .277/.316/.441 slash line, seven home runs, 33 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 225 plate appearances and 50 games. Plummer and Luis Guillorme will see more playing time if Marte is placed on the IL.

Starling Marte Likely Heading To The Injured List
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (quad) is scheduled to have an MRI on his left quad on Wednesday. According to Jon Heyman, the Mets are expecting for Marte to require a stint on the 10-day injured list. Marte exited Tuesday's game with what was described as left quad tightness. If he indeed winds up missing time, Mark Canha and Nick Plummer stand to benefit most. Marte has slashed .277/.316/.441 over 50 games this year while racking up seven home runs, eight stolen bases, 33 RBI and 36 runs.

Starling Marte Exits Tuesday's Game With Left Quad Tightness
Updating a previous report, New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (quadriceps) was removed from Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres with left quad tightness, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. Marte injured his leg in the first inning when he was caught trying to steal second base. This appears to be good news overall for the 33-year-old and his fantasy managers, as it does not sound as though the injury is serious. He should be considered day-to-day, but hopefully Marte won't have to miss much time, as he has slashed a strong .277/.316/.441 with seven home runs, 33 RBI and eight stolen bases this season.

Starling Marte Injured Tuesday Night
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (leg) was removed from the game early on Tuesday night against the San Diego Padres. Marte appeared to injure his leg in the first inning when he was caught trying to steal second base. He was replaced in the outfield by Mark Canha. For now, fantasy managers should consider the 33-year-old day-to-day until we know more about the nature and severity of his injury. Marte went 0-for-1 and reached on a fielder's choice before leaving the contest in San Diego. He entered the day hitting .278/.317/.443 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 224 plate appearances over 49 games in his first year in New York. Marte has especially hit well in the last two weeks, going 18-for-59 with three homers, 11 RBI and three steals, so fantasy managers will be crossing their fingers that his leg injury isn't too serious.

Starling Marte Doubles And Scores A Run In Victory
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored in an 8-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. Marte started off 0-for-2 in the contest before swatting his ninth double of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning. He would come around to score off a Francisco Lindor triple in that same frame and also reached base with a walk later in the game. After a lackluster April in which he slashed .224/.290/.318 across 85 at-bats, Marte has stepped his game up in May. Overall the 33-year-old speedster is rocking a .275/.315/.409 batting line with four home runs, 25 RBI, and seven thefts. He should continue to improve as the season wears on.

Starling Marte Batting Second In His Return
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is set to make his return in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies. He will be batting second in the lineup and he will be covering his usual right field post. Marte missed the team's previous four games while he was on the bereavement list. The 33-year-old veteran has appeared in 33 games so far this year and he's slashing .266/.311/.403 with three home runs, five stolen bases, 20 RBI and 20 runs. Make sure to slide him back into your lineup for Saturday's slate.

Starling Marte To Be Activated Friday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is scheduled to rejoin the team on Thursday afternoon, but he won't be activated from the bereavement list until Friday. Marte should be back in the starting lineup for the series opener on Friday against the Colorado Rockies. The 33-year-old veteran is hitting .266/.311/.403 with three home runs, 20 RBI, 20 runs scored and five stolen bases in his first 33 games for the Mets. Fantasy managers should plan to get him back in their starting lineups on Friday. Mark Canha will get a second straight start in right field on Thursday, and he's batting second against St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Dakota Hudson. Canha is hitting .299 with three dingers and 14 RBI on the year and will be a fine DFS play.

Starling Marte To Be Reactivated Thursday Or Friday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte was placed on the bereavement list on Monday. According to Mets manager Buck Showalter, Marte will be back with the team "physically" on Thursday and he will officially be reactivated either Thursday or Friday. Travis Jankowski started the last two games in right field with Marte out and Mark Canha is getting the start in right field for Wednesday's game. Over 33 games this year, Marte has slashed .266/.311/.403 while racking up three home runs, five stolen bases, 20 RBI and 20 runs.

Starling Marte Goes On Bereavement List
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte was placed on the bereavement list on Monday. Marte will be away from the team for at least three days and as many as seven, so fantasy managers will want to remove him from their lineups for the week. Through his first 33 games with the Mets, Marte is hitting .266/.311/.403 with three home runs, 20 RBI, 20 runs scored and five stolen bases. With Marte out of the lineup on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals, Travis Jankowski will get the start in right field and will hit eighth in the lineup against right-hander Miles Mikolas for Game 1 of a doubleheader. Jankowski is off to a good start this year with nine hits in 31 at-bats, but he's mostly useful in fantasy for his speed.

Starling Marte Goes Just 1-For-13 In Series Against Nationals
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte struggled at the plate in the team's three-game series against the Washington Nationals this week. He went just 1-for-13 with four strikeouts, no walks and a run scored. Marte started the month out strong, wrangling together a streak of five straight multi-hit games from May 2 to May 8. He's slashing .317/.333/.463 over the month of May as a whole. The 33-year-old has been decent overall for fantasy managers this year, but he's been a big disappointment in the stolen base department. He's gone just 4-for-8 on stolen base attempts over 30 games and he hasn't successfully stolen a bag since April 24. Last year, Marte led the majors with 47 stolen bases over 120 games and he was caught just five times. We'll see if he can turn things around on the base paths soon.
