Garrett Cooper (wrist) was reinstated from the injured list in a corresponding move. Cooper has been solid this season, slashing .279/.347/.426 with seven home runs, 40 RBI, and 28 runs in 84 games. Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds with left hamstring discomfort. • Avisail Garcia Ejected From Tuesday's Game

Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia was ejected from Tuesday's game against the Angels for arguing balls and strikes. He went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts before being ejected. • Avisail Garcia Sitting Monday

Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the New York Mets. Garcia will get a breather in a day game on Monday after going 5-for-20 (.250) with a homer and three RBI in five games over the last week for the Fish. Overall, he's hitting just .226/.266/.314 with four home runs, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and three stolen bases in 218 plate appearances over 54 games, so he hasn't done a ton for fantasy managers. Jerar Encarnacion will get the start in right field on Monday and will hit seventh against Mets left-hander David Peterson. The 24-year-old rookie made his major league debut on Sunday and went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and two runs scored.

  • No Structural Damage For Avisail Garcia

Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia's (hand) MRI exam showed no structural damage and just mild inflammation. Garcia was scratched from the lineup on Sunday with a hand injury, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now after he missed another game on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies. The 31-year-old his hitting just .223/.264/.293 with three home runs, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored and three stolen bases on the season. Meanwhile, third baseman Brian Anderson (back) is now hitting off a tee and throwing medicine balls. He's missed over two weeks with a bulging disc in his spine and remains without a timetable for a return. Jon Berti has seen most of the playing time at the hot corner with Anderson and Joey Wendle on the injured list.

  • Avisail Garcia Scratched Due To Minor Injury

Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia (hand) was scratched during Sunday's game against the Houston Astros. The 30-year-old outfielder sat this one out due to left hand inflammation. He's not expected to land on the injured list, but could very well miss a few games due to this issue. Garcia is hitting .223/.264/.293 with three homers, 14 RBI this season. Possibly, a short period off the field could help Garcia get back into a groove at the plate. Fantasy managers should consider Garcia day-to-day right now.

He was activated from the COVID-19 list on Sunday, but didn't make an appearance in that contest. He'll bat sixth and play right field versus right-hander Ryan Feltner on Monday. The Marlins also designated Joe Dunand for assignment. Garcia will return to the team after being put on the COVID injured list on Friday. The 30-year-old should return to the starting lineup on Sunday against Atlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried.
