Daniel Hudson To Begin Season On Injured List
Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson (knee) said that he will begin the 2023 season on the injured list. The right-hander has been working his way back from a torn ACL from last June. He has been able to face live hitters a few times, but it appears his knee is still bothering him. The Dodgers will develop a new timetable for Hudson to get back on the mound. Until then, Brusdar Graterol and Evan Phillips figure to be the favorites for the closer role in Los Angeles.

Daniel Hudson, Yency Almonte Facing Hitters Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitchers Daniel Hudson (ankle, knee) and Yency Almonte (elbow) are scheduled to face live hitters on Wednesday for the first time since spring training started. Hudson suffered a season-ending torn left ACL last June and also had a setback with an ankle injury, which will cause him to open the 2023 season on the injured list. However, Hudson could be back as a closing option for the Blue in the middle of April. The 28-year-old Almonte missed most of the second half in 2022 with an elbow injury, and he could also open the season on the injured list for the Dodgers. Hudson should have much more fantasy appeal than Almonte as an option to close out games for one of the best teams in baseball.

Dodgers Notes: Hudson, Reyes, Buehler
Dodgers reliever Daniel Hudson is working his way back after his 2022 season was cut short by an ACL tear in his left knee. The veteran righty had been one of the sport’s most effective bullpen arms to that point, working to a 2.22 ERA with a 30.9% strikeout percentage in 24 1/3 innings. Los Angeles…
Mar 2 · MLB Trade Rumors Dodgers Walker Buehler Daniel Hudson Alex Reyes closersDaniel Hudson Might Not Be Ready For Opening Day
Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson (ankle, knee) is progressing, but he might not be ready for Opening Day, according to manager Dave Roberts. Hudson has been throwing full-intensity bullpen sessions at spring training, but he's still nursing ankle tendinitis that he picked up while rehabbing from a torn left ACL that he suffered last June. The Dodgers aren't going to push the 35-year-old veteran right-hander to be ready at the end of March, but he could be ready to go in LA's bullpen at some point in early April. The Dodgers figure to go with a closer-by-committee situation to open the 2023 campaign, so Hudson should see save opportunities alongside the likes of Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia and potentially Brusdar Graterol.

Daniel Hudson Progressing, Alex Reyes Not Throwing Off Mound
Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson (ankle, knee) tore his left ACL last June but was expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2023 season. However, he experienced right ankle tendinitis that set him back a few weeks. He's throwing bullpens in camp and is feeling healthy, but it's unclear if he'll be built up by Opening Day. Reliever Alex Reyes (shoulder) is still not throwing off a mound and isn't expected to until at least late March. But the right-hander has been throwing regularly as he recovers from a frayed labrum in his right shoulder, and the hope is that he can help the team by midseason. With no designated closer entering the 2023 season, Hudson could be firmly in the mix for the Dodgers if he's healthy. LA's other options include Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia and Brusdar Graterol.

Daniel Hudson Throws On Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson (knee, ankle) was able to throw off the mound for the first time on Friday. The 35-year-old is working his way back from a left ACL tear and ankle tendinitis. The right-hander is hopeful to be ready for the beginning of the season. Hudson was excellent for the Dodgers before suffering a left knee injury in late June. The expectation is that Hudson is going to be a high-leverage option in the Dodgers bullpen this season. However, he probably won't have much fantasy value as a setup reliever.
