  • Giancarlo Stanton Resumes Baseball Activities

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles), who is on the injured list with Achilles tendinitis, has resumed baseball activities, but skipper Aaron Boone said there is no timetable for his return to the team. Stanton has been on the shelf since July 23, so he'll almost certainly require a minor league rehab assignment before the Yankees reinstate him from the injured list. The 32-year-old right-handed slugger needs to remain stashed in all fantasy leagues in the meantime. Before the injury, he was slashing .228/.309/.498 with an .807 OPS, 24 home runs, 61 RBI and 40 runs scored in 328 plate appearances over 80 games played for the Bronx Bombers.

  • Giancarlo Stanton To Resume Baseball Activities This Week

New York Yankees skipper Aaron Boone said that outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles) should be cleared to start baseball activities "early this week." Stanton was placed on the injured list on July 26, but it doesn't look like he'll be ready to return to the team when he's eligible on Wednesday, Aug. 3. The 32-year-old slugger is dealing with left Achilles tendinitis, but he needs to remain stashed in all fantasy formats while he heals up. He's hitting just .228 on the season with a .309 on-base percentage, but he also has an .807 OPS, 24 home runs, 61 RBI and 40 runs scored in 289 at-bats for the Yanks.

He's also connected on 24 home runs in those 328 plate appearances. New York recalled outfielder Tim Locastro from Triple-A to take Stanton's place on the active roster.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Wins All-Star Game MVP Award

New York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton took home the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player award in Tuesday's 3-2 American League win. Stanton went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and a strikeout. He got the AL team on the board in the fourth inning, tying the score up after demolishing a Tony Gonsolin slider into the deep left-center seats. The 32-year-old has only compiled a .237 batting average to this point, but he also has an impressive .516 slugging percentage with 24 HR and 61 RBI. Stanton will remain a second-half fantasy asset as long his average doesn't drop too far.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Retreats To The Bench

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton will start Sunday's game against the division-rival Boston Red Sox on the bench. Stanton has been on a tear of late, but he'll get a day of rest to close out the first half of the season. The 32-year-old enters Sunday's action with a .237/.319/.516 slash line with an .835 OPS, 24 home runs, 61 RBI and 40 runs scored in 279 at-bats. Fantasy managers need to make sure to remove him from their lineups on Sunday. Tim Locastro draws into the lineup in right field and will hit eighth against Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale. DFS gamers should be able to do better than Locastro. He has just 15 at-bats on the season and has homered and stolen four bases.

Stanton has homered in two straight games and in four of his last five outings, giving him a total of 18 bombs on the year. The 32-year-old slugger owns a .243/.331/.514 slash line on the season to go along with 49 RBI and 29 runs.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Blasts His 15th Home Run On Thursday

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton sparked the team's offense in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Houston Astros. He hit a three-run home run in the first inning of the game to put the team on the board. The home run wound up being his only hit of the day as he went 1-for-3 with a walk, three RBI and two runs. The 32-year-old slugger is slashing .246/.336/.493 with 15 home runs, 45 RBI and 25 runs over 57 games this year. June has been his worst offensive month yet, as he's slashed just .135/.328/.404 across the month, but hopefully Thursday's homer can help get him back on track.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Getting A Breather On Thursday

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against right-hander Dylan Bundy and the Minnesota Twins. • Giancarlo Stanton Resting Sunday

New York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton is taking the day off on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers. Stanton was activated from the injured list on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with a double, but he'll get a day off in the series finale against Detroit. The 32-year-old has been a must-start this year when on the field, as he's hitting .284/.337/.523 with an .860 OPS, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and 15 runs scored in 172 plate appearances over 41 games. Josh Donaldson will serve as the DH and bat cleanup, while DJ LeMahieu gets the start at third base and is hitting leadoff on Sunday against Tigers right-hander Rony Garcia. LeMahieu has been hot at the plate recently and makes for a solid DFS target out of the leadoff spot for the Yanks.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Activated From Injured List Saturday

The New York Yankees reinstated outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) from the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Stanton is immediately back in the lineup as the DH and is batting cleanup on Saturday against Detroit Tigers right-hander Beau Brieske. The 32-year-old slugger will return from right ankle inflammation that has been bothering him since late May. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups immediately. In 40 games before going on the injured list, Stanton was hitting .285/.339/.523 with an .862 OPS, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and 15 runs scored in 168 plate appearances. Matt Carpenter had been seeing time as the DH against right-handers with Stanton out, but he'll now head to the bench.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Could Return This Week

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) took batting practice on the field before Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels, and the Yankees are encouraged that he could come off the injured list later this week. The 32-year-old slugger also took part in a light running workout on Tuesday, so he's on the cusp of returning from right ankle inflammation. It sounds like Stanton could have a brief minor league rehab assignment before potentially returning to the lineup by this Saturday. He should be stashed in all fantasy leagues, as he was hitting an excellent .285/.339/.523 with an .862 OPS, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and 15 runs scored in 40 games before he landed on the injured list.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Dealing With Ankle Inflammation

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) was sent to the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. It was originally stated that he was dealing with a right calf strain. However, late Wednesday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone clarified that Stanton was instead dealing with ankle inflammation. Boone made it sound as if he isn't too concerned about Stanton's injury and that there's a chance that Stanton is only out for the minimum 10 days. Joey Gallo returned from the COVID-19 injured list on Wednesday and he should see a bump in playing time with Stanton out. Utility man Marwin Gonzalez could also be counted on more than usual over the next 10 days.

  • Giancarlo Stanton To The Injured List

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (calf) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. He is dealing with a right calf strain, but the severity of the injury is unknown right now. In a corresponding move, the Yankees have activated Joey Gallo off the COVID-19 injured list. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth versus right-hander Tyler Wells on Wednesday. Fantasy managers will have to wait for more updates on Stanton. The hope is that Stanton will only be forced to miss the minimum 10 days.

  • Giancarlo Stanton To Undergo An MRI On Wednesday

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (calf) is set to undergo an MRI on his right calf on Wednesday morning. The 32-year-old exited Tuesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles due to right calf tightness. The results of the MRI will help give us an indication of how much time Stanton could miss - if any. The veteran has launched 11 home runs over 40 games so far this year while slashing .285/.339/.523. Joey Gallo, who is currently on the COVID-19 injured list, could stand to see extra playing time upon his return if Stanton winds up on the injured list.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Exits Early With Calf Tightness

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (calf) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles due to right calf tightness. The 32-year-old went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before exiting. Estevan Florial replaced Stanton in the seventh inning. He will undergo further evaluation and remains day-to-day. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation as more information should be available after the game. Stanton is slashing .285/.339/.523 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI, and 15 runs scored over 166 plate appearances in 2022. With Joey Gallo already on the COVID-19 IL, Florial should see an uptick in playing time while Stanton is sidelined. Stay tuned for further updates.

  • Giancarlo Stanton To Sit Out On Wednesday

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Fantasy managers don't need to be concerned as this appears to be a routine day off for the veteran slugger. Marwin Gonzalez will draw the start in right field and bat eighth versus right-hander Jordan Lyles. There isn't much streaming appeal here with Gonzalez. Fantasy managers should expect Stanton to return after this game.

  • Giancarlo Stanton Swats Two Homers In Win

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton launched a pair of two-run homers on Thursday to help pace his offense to a 15-7 win over the White Sox. He victimized Dylan Cease in his first two at-bats of the ball game to bring his total to nine on the season as he finished the game going 3-for-4 with six RBI and three runs scored. Stanton has now homered in three of his past four games while going 6-for-16 in that span to up his BA to .277 and his RBI total to 28 to sit second in the AL. As long as he can stay on the field, the 32-year-old always has a chance to put up mouth-watering power numbers by season's end.
