Austin Riley Swats A Pair Of Home Runs In Victory

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley went 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and a pair of strikeouts in an 8-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Riley opened up the scoring with a two-run shot off Aaron Nola in the bottom of the first inning then victimized Nola again in the bottom of the fifth with a solo shot. Both home runs traveled a combined 917 feet and proved to be the difference in the back-and-forth contest. After a slow start to the season, Riley has really picked things up at the dish over the last 15 games, batting .305 with a .896 OPS. For the year, the 26-year-old is slashing .264/.338/.456 to go along with nine home runs and 26 RBI across 193 at-bats.

Austin Riley Doubles On Saturday

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Riley got things going for the Braves, who were facing a one-run deficit in the bottom of the eighth inning. He doubled off of Bryan Baker for his only hit of the ball game and would come around to score two batters later on a pinch-hit home run from Kevin Pillar. Through 34 games, the 26-year-old slugger is slashing .256/.342/.434 with six home runs and 18 RBI. After struggling toward the end of April, Riley is now working on a six-game hitting streak. May is looking like it will be a prosperous month for him.
