Max Fried Plays Catch Thursday

Atlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried (forearm) played catch on flat ground on Thursday. Once Fried begins building up his arm again, he'll start throwing bullpen sessions, live batting practice and making minor-league rehab starts like he's going through another spring training, so he won't be back in the big leagues for some time. Still, fantasy managers should be encouraged that the 29-year-old southpaw has been cleared to begin his throwing program. Fried has been shut down for over two weeks with a left-forearm strain. If everything goes well with no setbacks, there's a chance he could rejoin Atlanta's starting rotation before the end of June. Fried was pitching like an ace before his injury and should remain stashed in all fantasy formats.
