  • Luis Robert Absent From Saturday's Lineup Against Texas

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (illness) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers. He was recently reinstated from the 10-day injured list after missing the last three weeks from a bout of light-headedness. The 25-year-old will receive a scheduled day off on Saturday. AJ Pollock is batting seventh and will handle centerfield duties on Saturday. Pollock is hitting .200 (2-for-10) with an RBI over his last five games. Fantasy managers can use Pollock as a streamer in a matchup against Rangers pitcher Dane Dunning in deep-league formats.

  • Gavin Sheets Absent Again Friday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Gavin Sheets (ankle) remains out of the starting lineup on Friday against the Texas Rangers. Sheets is currently dealing with a bruised ankle and will miss his third straight game. Continue to consider him day-to-day. The 26-year-old is hitting .230/.289/.391 with nine home runs, 26 RBI and 19 runs scored in 235 at-bats in 2022. Andrew Vaughn is starting in right field on Friday and is batting fifth against Rangers right-hander Glenn Otto. Vaughn has been solid for fantasy managers this year, slashing .299/.349/.461 with an .810 OPS, 10 home runs, 50 RBI and 42 runs scored in 321 at-bats for the Pale Hose. In 11 games since the All-Star break, he's gone 12-for-42 (.286) with no homers, two RBI and six runs scored.

  • Luis Robert Remains Out Wednesday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (illness) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals. Robert was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, but he wasn't in the lineup. He hasn't played since before the All-Star break when he was removed from the game on July 15 due to light-headedness and dizziness. Robert is hitting .301/.334/.461 on the year with 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 48 runs scored and 11 stolen bases, so he's a must-start in fantasy when he returns to the lineup. AJ Pollock is starting in center field and hitting sixth on Wednesday against Royals right-hander Brady Singer. Pollock has gone 10-for-33 (.303) with a homer and nine RBI in 11 games over the last two weeks, but overall this year he hasn't done a ton for fantasy managers.

  • Luis Robert Activated From The Injured List

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (head) was activated from the injured list Tuesday. He was initially expected to return later in the week but showed enough progress in his recovery to be activated on Tuesday. He had been terrific this season before landing on the IL, slashing .301/.334/.461 with 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 48 runs, and 11 stolen bases in 74 games. • Luis Robert Will Miss More Time

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (head) is not expected to return during their series against the Kansas City Royals, according to manager Tony La Russa. He landed on the injured list roughly two weeks ago due to blurred vision lightheadedness. Robert also sat out earlier this weekend due to a cold. Now, it sounds like the 24-year-old is finally doing better. However, the organization is going to be cautious and give Robert a few more days to rehab. Fantasy managers can be hopeful that Robert returns by the end of the week.

  • Dylan Cease Continues Sparkling Stretch

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease was once again outstanding on Sunday, throwing six innings of one-run ball on four hits and a walk. He struck out seven batters and improved his record on the year to 11-4 with the win over the Oakland Athletics. Cease has three consecutive quality starts and has not allowed more than one earned run in any of his last 12 outings. He has a 2.01 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 161 strikeouts in 116 2/3 innings this season, placing him among the biggest breakouts of the fantasy season.

  • Jose Abreu Homers Sunday

Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went deep Sunday, contributing to a 4-1 victory over the Oakland Athletics. Abreu was 2-for-4 in the game, and now has 12 round-trippers on the season, to go with 54 runs score, 49 RBI, and an .852 OPS in 425 plate appearances. He has been especially good over his last 30 games, slashing .379/.430/.552 in 125 at-bats. Abreu is well on his way to yet another solid campaign, solidifying once again his place as one of the most consistent fantasy options in the league.

  • Tim Anderson Suspended Three Games

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has been suspended three games for making contact with an umpire during Friday night's game against the Oakland Athletics. The incident occurred after Anderson took exception to a strike call by home plate umpire Nick Mahrley in the seventh inning, after which Anderson was thrown out of the game but continued arguing, seemingly bumping into Mahrley. Anderson has appealed the suspension, so he will stay in the White Sox lineup until a decision is made. Keep an eye on Anderson and if his suspension is upheld, make sure you have a backup plan ready.

  • White Sox Outright Parker Markel

5:59pm: MLBTR’s Steve Adams reports (on Twitter) that Markel has accepted his outright assignment and will remain in the organization. 4:26pm: The White Sox announced this afternoon they’ve outrighted reliever Parker Markel off the 40-man roster. Chicago hadn’t previously announced the righty had been designated for assignment, but he’s evidently already cleared waivers. The 40-man tally drops…

  • Luis Robert Scratched From Rehab Game

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (head) has been scratched from Triple-A Charlotte's lineup Friday with cold symptoms. The young star has been dealing with light-headedness and dizziness over the past few weeks and just began his rehab assignment on Thursday. He is still scheduled to play on Saturday, so hopefully this is just a minor setback. Manager Tony La Russa also said that the earliest return date for Robert is Monday, which likely assumes he is feeling better by Saturday. The five-category contributor had finally begun to hit for power in July before his injury, slashing .328/.381/.586 with four homers in 58 at-bats. Fantasy managers should expect similar numbers for the rest of the season, assuming full health.

  • Reynaldo Lopez Placed On Injured List

The Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (back) on the 15-day injured list on Thursday with a lower back strain. They'll make a corresponding roster move prior to Thursday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Lopez's injured-list stint is retroactive to July 25. The 28-year-old hasn't pitched since last Saturday due to his injury, and he'll now miss the next two weeks. Lopez has been great for the Pale Hose in a relief role this year, posting a 2.98 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 44 strikeouts and only eight walks in 42 1/3 innings over 37 appearances (one start).

  • Luis Robert Starting Rehab Assignment Thursday

The Chicago White Sox announced that outfielder Luis Robert (head) will start a minor league rehab assignment for Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday night. Robert won't be ready to return from the injured list when he's eligible on Friday, but the good news is that he's ready to return to game action. The 24-year-old hasn't played since experiencing light-headedness and dizziness on July 15, but he might only need a few rehab games in the minors before he's ready to return to the White Sox's starting lineup. Robert should remain rostered in all fantasy leagues, as he's hitting a strong .301/.334/.461 with 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 48 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 306 at-bats this year.

  • Michael Kopech Earns Win Number Four Tuesday

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech picked up his fourth win of the season on Tuesday when his club beat the Colorado Rockies 2-1. The right-hander completed 5.1 innings of work, giving up no runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four. Kopech hasn't had the kind of season fantasy managers expected, as he's only striking out 21.4% of the batters he's faced after posting a 36.1% strikeout rate last year. He still owns a 3.16 ERA, but he isn't a must-start right now.

  • Liam Hendriks Battles High Altitude Tuesday, Earns Save

Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks picked up a shaky 19th save of the season in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Rockies. Hendriks came in to pitch the ninth inning up by two. He allowed a leadoff solo home run, got the next two hitters out on a strikeout and groundout, walked a batter, and got the final out on a groundout. Coors Field is always difficult to succeed in for pitchers, and White Sox beat writer Daryl Van Schouwen reported that Hendriks has felt ill pitching at high altitudes in the past. The 33-year-old has been a solid fantasy option this season, but he hasn't been as elite as he has been. He has now converted all but three save opportunities with a 3.48 ERA and a 13.10 K/9 rate.

  • White Sox, Yankees Among Teams With Interest In Jose Quintana

The White Sox and Yankees are among the clubs expressing interest in Pirates starter José Quintana, reports Robert Murray of FanSided. The veteran southpaw is almost certain to change teams as a fairly productive impending free agent on the fourth-place Bucs. Chicago is plenty familiar with Quintana, of course. • Luis Robert Unlikely To Return Friday When First Eligible

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (head) is unlikely to be activated from the 10-day injured list when he's first eligible on Friday. "He seems like he's improving every day, except he's still getting tested," said White Sox manager Tony La Russa. "There has been improvement, and he has been doing more baseball stuff, but other than that." The 24-year-old was pulled from the game early on July 15 after experiencing light-headedness and blurred vision. Robert remains day-to-day and is unlikely to return for this weekend's series against the Oakland Athletics. He is slashing .301/.334/.461 with 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 48 runs scored and 11 stolen bases over 74 games in 2022. Adam Engel should continue to handle center field duties while Robert is sidelined.

  • Andrew Vaughn Not Included In Sunday's Lineup

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn is not part of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. AJ Pollock and Gavin Sheets will be the team's corner outfielders for the game. White Sox manager Tony La Russa stated prior to the game that Vaughn's day off was recommended by trainers, though he didn't provide any details as to why it was recommended. However, La Russa did add that Vaughn would be available to pinch hit for the game. The 24-year-old has had a strong year at the plate, slashing .298/.345/.462 with 10 home runs, 49 RBI and 38 runs across 75 games. It seems likely that he'll be back in the starting lineup on Monday.

  • Tim Anderson Sitting In Game 1 Against Cleveland

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson will start on the bench for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians. Anderson is getting a normal day of rest, and fantasy managers should get him back for Game 2 of the double dip later in the day. He went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a strikeout to kick off the second half of the season on Friday, and Anderson is now hitting a cool .313/.353/.417 with six home runs, 24 RBI, 45 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 278 at-bats this year as one of the better fantasy shortstops out there. Leury Garcia is starting at the 6 and hitting eighth against Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie. Garcia, who is hitting just .205 with two home runs on the year in 229 at-bats, is a low-upside DFS target.

  • Eloy Jimenez Resting In First Game Of Doubleheader

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez is not in the starting lineup on Saturday for the first game of a doubleheader against the Cleveland Guardians. Jimenez returned from a leg injury in the first game of the second half of the season on Friday and went 1-for-3. Fantasy managers will probably see him back in the lineup for the second game of Saturday's double dip. The 25-year-old Dominican only has 69 at-bats this year due to injuries, and he's hitting a disappointing .203 with two home runs and 13 RBI, but he's still a must-roster fantasy player. Andrew Vaughn is starting in left field in Game 1 and is hitting third against Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie. Vaughn, who is hitting .300 on the year with 10 home runs, will be a fine DFS target.
