  • Cardinals Reassign Tink Hence

St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Tink Hence has been reassigned to minor league camp. One of the top pitching prospects in the game, Hence made four appearances this spring and allowed one run with five strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings. The 20-year-old has been moving up the system, but the Cardinals have been limited his innings thus far in his career and he is unlikely to see the big leagues in 2023. For now, dynasty managers should consider rostering with, but redraft managers can ignore the talented right-hander.

  • Tink Hence K's Two In Relief

St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Tink Hence worked a scoreless frame in Monday's victory versus the Houston Astros. The right-hander allowed a free pass, but also struck out two on the afternoon. Hence, 20, has rapidly climbed Top-100 boards over the past year and for good reason. Hence was 0-1 with a shiny 1.38 ERA in 52 1/3 innings with 81 strikeouts and a clean 0.88 WHIP over 16 starts for Single-A Palm Beach. Currently sporting a fastball that can hit up to 99 MPH to go along with a nasty curveball and an above average changeup to polish things off, Hence has all the makings of a future top of the rotation option. Hence has been limited by the Cardinals and it will be interesting to see if they let training wheels off a little more this upcoming season, but managers in dynasty leagues should start to keep tabs on Hence. With Hence a few years away from reaching the big leagues, managers in redraft leagues can ignore him at the moment.
