Gabriel Moreno Doesn't Think Injury Is Serious
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno (hand) was removed from the team's Cactus League game on Saturday after being hit by a pitch on the left hand/wrist. He said the pitch caught him across his knuckles and doesn't think it's too serious. Moreno isn't scheduled to undergo X-rays for now, but he might get checked out on Sunday if it swells up overnight. It looks like the 23-year-old backstop has avoided a serious injury, but we'll have to keep an eye on him in the coming days. Arizona acquired Moreno from the Blue Jays in the offseason, and he'll have a legitimate shot at earning everyday playing time in the desert in 2023 in his first year with the team. He hit an impressive .319 with a homer and seven RBI in his first 25 big-league games last year and could provide a high average and 15-20 homers from the catching position.

The good news is, Moreno appears to have avoided serious injury. The team doesn't plan on having Moreno undergo further testing on his hand. It sounds like the team is going to wait-and-see how his hand does overnight. The right-handed slugger appears to be day-to-day, but fantasy managers should check back for more updates on his status.
