  • Jazz Chisholm Jr. Moving To Center Field

The Miami Marlins will move second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. to center field this year, according to general manager Kim Ng. Chisholm has played exclusively as a second baseman and shortstop during his major-league career, but All-Star second baseman Luis Arraez will now take over after being acquired from the Minnesota Twins on Friday, with Jean Segura manning third base. Instead of moving to shortstop, the 24-year-old Chisholm will gain outfield eligibility for fantasy managers in 2023, in addition to second base. It will make him even more attractive in fantasy after an All-Star season in 2022 that saw him hit .254/.325/.535 with a career-high .860 OPS, 14 home runs, 45 RBI, 39 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in just 60 games played due to injury.

  • Marlins Haven't Decided Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s Position

When asked if Miami Marlins infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. will get any run at shortstop in 2023, general manager Kim Ng said, "We haven't decided yet." Chisholm was the team's full-time second baseman in 2022 and earned his first All-Star nod in his third season in the majors. But after the team sent shortstop Miguel Rojas to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, there's an opening at the 6 in Miami. Chisholm's natural position is at shortstop, but the recently signed Jean Segura and Joey Wendle are also candidates to play shortstop next season. Ultimately, keeping Chisholm at the keystone might be the safest option after he played only 60 games in 2022 due to back and knee injuries. Defensive position aside, the 24-year-old has plenty of offensive upside with 34 homers, 104 RBI and 37 stolen bases in his first three MLB campaigns.
