  • Luis Robert Diagnosed With Grade 3 Hip Flexor Strain

Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn announced on Monday that outfielder Luis Robert (hip) has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 hip flexor strain. Hahn wasn't sure if the injury would require surgery yet, but Robert will not participate in baseball activities for 12-to-16 weeks with a permanent timeline unknown at the moment. It's brutal news for both the White Sox and fantasy managers with Robert being one of the best young stars in the game and off to an impressive sophomore campaign. The talented outfielder hits the shelf with a .316 batting average, one home run, eight RBI and four stolen bases. Outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) is expected to take over in the outfield for Robert in the long term, but he is currently on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring injury. In the meantime, outfielder Billy Hamilton and utility man Leury Garcia figure to get the bulk of the opportunities in the lineup. Neither is worthy of a roster spot in all formats, but Hamilton can help managers seeking stolen bases.

  • Luis Robert Will Be Sent To Injured List

Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa said after Sunday's game that outfielder Luis Robert (hip) is "definitely going to go on the IL." He will also be checked out more on Monday. Robert suffered a right hip flexor strain after beating out an infield single in the bottom of the first in Sunday's loss against the Cleveland Indians. There is currently no timetable for when Robert could return, but expect outfielder Billy Hamilton to get some run and utility man Leury Garcia should also see an increased amount of playing time. Hamilton offers value for those looking for speed, but neither player is anyone that requires rushing to the waiver wire for. Robert has been off to an impressive start and is hitting .316 with one home run, eight RBI and four stolen bases.

  • Luis Robert Diagnosed With Right Hip Flexor Strain

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (hip) has been diagnosed with a right hip flexor strain, according to The Athletic. Robert exited Sunday's game in the first inning after beating out an infield single and then collapsing to the ground in pain. He had to be helped off the field, and was unable to put weight on his leg while leaving. X-rays came back negative, and he will undergo more testing on Monday. This is some slightly good news for Robert, as initially it seemed the injury could have been lower in the leg. There's still a good chance Robert will spend some time on the injured list, but there's no word yet as to how long he may be out.

  • Luis Robert Exits Early On Sunday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert has exited Sunday's contest in the bottom of the first inning. Robert hurt his leg when he beat out an infield hit and he came up lame. More should be known about the young star as the afternoon goes on. Outfielder Adam Eaton pinch-ran for Robert. If Robert were to miss time, utility man Leury Garcia and outfielder Billy Hamilton could see regular starts, but neither offer much upside. Robert finishes the game 1-for-1.
