  • Cody Bellinger Placed On 10-Day Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed Cody Bellinger (calf) on the 10-day injured list with a left calf contusion. The move is retroactive to April 6. Bellinger suffered the injury after taking a spike to the leg during Tuesday's game. While Bellinger is sidelined, Chris Taylor and Mookie Betts will be the team's primary center fielders while AJ Pollock and Zach McKinstry should see an increase in playing time. It doesn't sound like an injury that will keep Bellinger sidelined long. In sending Bellinger to the injured list, the Dodgers recalled outfielder Luke Raley in a corresponding move.

  • Cody Bellinger To Miss Friday's Home Opener

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger (calf) has been ruled out for Friday's home opener against the Nationals. Bellinger is dealing with a sore calf after taking a spike to the leg on Tuesday. Tests revealed no structural damage to the leg, though manager Dave Roberts hasn't ruled out an injured list stint for the talented slugger, who could be forced to miss some time beyond just Friday's game. Bellinger shouldn't be out for an extended period of time, though any absence would mean more at-bats for Chris Taylor and potentially Zach McKinstry.

  • Cody Bellinger Day-To-Day With Calf Injury

Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Cody Bellinger (calf) is listed as day-to-day after tests on his injured calf showed no structural damage or fractures, according to manager Dave Roberts. Bellinger was unavailable on Tuesday and will sit out on Wednesday, and Roberts is unsure if Bellinger will be forced to go on the injured list. A serious injury was avoided, but the 25-year-old former MVP could still wind up on the injured list with the Dodgers likely playing this one cautiously, especially with the season still less than a week old. The lefty slugger 4-for-19 with a triple, double and two RBI in the early going in 21 plate appearances, but fantasy managers need to plan for a potential placement on the injured list. Mookie Betts moved to center field on Tuesday with Bellinger out. Zach McKinstry, who has swung a hot bat in the early going, could benefit the most of Bellinger misses more time. Chris Taylor is another option to see expanded playing time in the outfield.

  • Cody Bellinger, Chris Taylor Out Tuesday After Leaving Game Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielders Cody Bellinger (calf) and Chris Taylor (elbow) are not in the lineup on Tuesday after exiting Monday night's game early. Taylor was hit by a pitch on the elbow in the top of the third inning, and initially remained in the game but was replaced defensively in the bottom half of the inning. Bellinger was injured in the ninth inning while trying to beat out an infield single, as he collided with Athletics' pitcher Reymin Guduan and was hit in the calf by Guduan's cleats. Manager Dave Roberts listed both Bellinger and Taylor as day-to-day last night, so it appears Bellinger and Taylor should be back in the lineup sooner than later.

  • Cody Bellinger Day-To-Day With Foot Injury

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger (foot) left Monday night's game against the Oakland Athletics after his foot was stepped on during a close play at first base. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated after the game that Bellinger was day-to-day. It certainly doesn't sound like anything that should cost Bellinger more than a game or two, if that. If Bellinger is forced to sit on Tuesday, A.J. Pollock, who sat on Monday, will likely jump back into the starting lineup. Bellinger is 4-for-19 with a double and a triple to start the year.

  • Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager To Get Day Off Sunday

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger and shortstop Corey Seager will get the day off on Sunday against the Rockies. It's a bit annoying, considering both guys are off to good starts at the plate, particularly Seager, who has eight hits in three games, but manager Dave Roberts said he wants to get his guys rest early on in the season. It's something he also did on Saturday when Mookie Betts, Justin Turner, and Will Smith were all on the bench. Those three will return to Sunday's lineup, with Smith slated to be behind the plate. Roberts also said that Smith would be behind the plate for the first and third games in Oakland.

  • Cody Bellinger Looks Poised At The Plate Thursday

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger was 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored, and a walk in Thursday's 8-5 loss to the Colorado Rockies. The 25-year-old belted a two-run, opposite-field homer in the third inning, but miscommunication on the base paths resulted in him being credited with an RBI single instead. Above all else, Bellinger's surgically repaired shoulder looked no worse for wear. Even though the homer did not count, Bellinger did not hit an opposite-field dinger in the 2020 season, so that bodes well. Look for the 2019 MVP to improve on all of his numbers from last season.
