  • Christian Yelich To Start Rehab Assignment Friday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is set to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Friday. Yelich was able to take batting practice on Tuesday and was hitting homers- so he's certainly progressing well in his recovery from a back injury. Manager Craig Counsell said that his return date is still to be determined and that the team will assess how he feels coming out of the weekend. It sure seems like Yelich could return to the big leagues at some point next week, barring any setbacks. Fantasy managers will hope that he can get back to where he was at the start of the year, as he was batting .353 through his first 10 games played.

  • Christian Yelich Takes Batting Practice On Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) was participating in batting practice on Tuesday, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. McCalvy adds that Yelich was seen hitting home runs into the second deck during batting practice, as manager Craig Counsell said, "He's doing baseball activities, so he's doing everything at this point. All the activities are on the board right now, so that's a good thing. Like I said, we just try to make progress every day and then see how he feels the next day. If everything's going good, we push him again and push him again. We've strung a couple of good days together and we just have to keep building on that." It sounds like Yelich is making some solid progress in rehabbing from a back injury that has limited him to just one game since April 11. Managers should keep watching for further updates, but Yelich could be back with Milwaukee within the next week or two.

  • Christian Yelich Returned To IL On Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) has been placed back on the injured list one day after being activated, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Manager Craig Counsell said that Yelich played through pain in Monday's game where he went 2-for-4 at the plate and that the team needs to focus on resolving Yelich's back issue once and for all. Counsell added that they still have not received a concrete diagnosis on the issue plaguing Yelich, and that they wanted to see Monday how he would feel in a return to action. There's no timetable for how long Yelich will be out now, as managers will be forced to stash him back on the injured list for the foreseeable future.

  • Christian Yelich Back In Lineup Against Phillies

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) was activated off the 10-day injured list Monday and will bat third and play left field against the Phillies. Yelich appeared in just nine games this season before being shut down with back issues. He'd managed just one extra-base hit in those nine games but was still hitting .333 despite a career-worst 32.4 percent strikeout rate, with a .556 BABIP deserving much of the credit. Nine games aren't much of a sample, however, so the Brewers will be hoping he can get back to MVP form going forward. This is obviously good news for fantasy owners of Yelich, who hope for the same thing going forward.

  • Christian Yelich To Return Against Philadelphia

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) will return during the team's upcoming series against the Phillies, according to manager Craig Counsell. Although the skipper didn't specify what game that will be, it is still good news as the team has been without Yelich since April 11 due to lower back tightness. The 29-year-old has gotten back on track after a subpar 2020 campaign, batting .333 to go along with 10 hits, eight runs, and 1 RBI throughout 30 at-bats this season.
