Brandon Nimmo Diagnosed With Two Injuries
New York Mets centerfielder Brandon Nimmo (leg) was diagnosed with a low-grade sprain in his right knee and ankle. Nimmo was in the act of sliding toward second base in Saturday's matchup against the Miami Marlins and failed to execute a proper slide. He was forced to exit the game and reported pain in his right knee the following morning. According to Mets GM Billy Eppler, the 29-year-old is on a week-to-week basis which puts his Opening Day status in jeopardy. The Mets are hoping to reinstate him as early as possible but will take every precaution to ensure that he heals completely. In 2022, Nimmo slashed .274/.367/.433 with 16 home runs and a .800 OPS. The Wyoming native is hoping to put together another healthy season as the Mets compete for their third title.

Brandon Nimmo Making Spring Debut Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo is making his Grapefruit League debut on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Luis Patino. Nimmo is starting in center field and hitting in his usual leadoff spot in the batting order. The 29-year-old has been healthy this spring, but the Mets opted to hold him back to give him some extra rest this spring. Injuries have been an issue for Nimmo in the past, but he played in a career-high 151 games in 2022 and slashed .274/.367/.433 with an .800 OPS, 16 home runs, career-high 64 RBI, career-high 102 runs scored and three stolen bases in 673 plate appearances. Durability is an issue, but fantasy managers are getting a strong on-base guy and plenty of runs if they draft Nimmo.
