ATC, Steamer Projections Updated for Fantasy Baseball Draft Buddy

Fantasy Baseball Auction Value Calculator

There was no reason to update the projections in fantasy baseball Draft Buddy for about a month. The only baseball news described the labor strife between Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association.

Then suddenly, agreement! Baseball is back on, and MLB Opening Day is set for April 7th. Fantasy baseball players rejoice!

In the last week baseball player news hit us fast and furious, including big trades (sorry, Reds and A’s fans), free agent signings (Seiya Suzuki, Freddie Freeman), and significant injuries (Fernando Tatis, Chris Sale). Consensus top 3 pick Tatis is set to miss an estimated 3 months due to a broken wrist. An injury we never knew about, thanks to the lockout.

The fantasy baseball projections in Draft Buddy – ATC, THE BAT, Steamer, and our own Chris Spencer’s Draft Buddy projections – all projected over 140 games for Tatis. Well, that isn’t happening. So, another delay updating Draft Buddy until the projections catch up.

A fantasy baseball newsletter sent to members on Thursday outlined this. I’m glad to report, we are getting there with the updates.

ATC, Steamer Projections Updated

ATC and Steamer projections are updated for Draft Buddy, the Excel download, and online fantasy baseball dollar value calculator Last Player Picked. Tatis lost $30 in value! Luckily I avoided him in my early TGFBI and RazzSlam industry drafts. ADP from NFBC and FantasyPros is current for drafts from the past two weeks.

If you have version 1.0 of Draft Buddy, there is a version 2.0 now available. The major change to version 2.0 is NFBC draft sync. Click the following button to download Draft Buddy:

I plan to keep updating projections to Opening Day. There are also calls for Projection Pal, and will try to post that soon. If you have any questions about using Draft Buddy then by all means comment below or send me an email.

So when will the current updated lists be available? April 1st?

    • Mike

      says:

What lists exactly, Thomas? In Draft Buddy you can run Update Projections for any of ATC, Steamer, and also ‘Draft Buddy’ projections. Those are all updated. I’m going to update for THE BAT projections on Sunday. ADP is also updated per this post. When you update projections in Buddy, it pulls in the latest ADP, too.

How do i make the excel draft sheet on draft report match up with one of my keepers Shane Mclanahan

    • Jeremy

      says:

i believe the issues i am running into is it isn’t working because shane is a minor on the excel sheet

        says:

Hi Jeremy. I think I see what you are seeing. He isn’t in the drop-down list on the keepers tab, and I’m not sure why exactly off-hand. It isn’t because he’s still on the prospects list. Any player in Draft Buddy should be a select option on the keepers tab. I will look at it further, but in the short-term you should be able to type in his name in the player box (use SP for position) and it should flow through the rest of the tabs.

          Thanks Mike.

          2 more things if you don’t mind;

          1) is there a way to transfer 2.0 update into 1.0 excel.

          2) if we doing a roto league, is there a way to get the auction dollars off sheet.

          • Mike

            says:

Not really a way to transfer, but I believe the only real change was adding the NFBC league sync. If you aren’t drafting at NFBC, then there should be no difference.

Off, as in, into another spreadsheet?

Our league is primarily NL only, auction style. But, we are allowed to keep players traded to the AL through remainder of contract. I use Last Player Picked. I’ve run LPP for NL-Only and downloaded the .csv. Then ran, AL-Only, downloaded the .csv and then copied over the ten or so AL players kept on our rosters into the NL-Only .csv.

I copied the resulting .csv into the LPP tab of draft buddy and think that the results are what I am expecting for the unkept players on the cheatsheets. My minor only question is that I do not see the AL players greyed out on the cheatsheet as ‘kept’. I am just curious if there are any functions of the draft buddy spreadsheet that I may need to consider? The team rosters do show the kept AL players with the LPP values.

      says:

Hi LD. That is nice work figuring out how to add the AL guys in with the NL player pool. However, are those 10 AL players even showing up on the cheatsheet? I would have thought, no, since Draft Buddy is still going to consider them AL players, and therefore remove them from the player pool. One thing I can suggest is go to the hitters data and pitchers data tabs, and alter the League AL to NL for each of those 10 players. Run Compile Cheatsheets again – note, make sure to change the reset keepers and draft picks to No first! – and now are they included and marked off?
