We've totally taken this discussion into a big tangent. In fact, maybe I'll move these posts over to the other thread, but I had a question for you. On CBS, does ever person who plays have to create a CBS user account?

I believe you do have to have a user account on CBS

Figures. So whether we use Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, it doesn't matter. Everyone is going to have to create an account if they don't already have one.

I need a reasonably priced, highly customizable myfantasyleague.com option for baseball.

Thanks JB. I've actually already set up a trial league at CBS and did so through a referral link from someone, but even at half off it is still pricey at $90. That is almost as much as the first place prize! Like I said, I'm thinking about it. If it helps you maybe I can turf the other league and use your referral link.

No worries Mike. If it helps you then use my referral link. If you don't need it or have other referral links then no problem.

Sorry of this is obvious or has already been mentioned but why does it matter if everyone has to set up a user ID? We're going to come across that on any of the sites and it's free to do anyways.

Just for ease of use I wondered if we had an option where people didn't have to jump through an additional hoop creating an account.

And I have a Yahoo and CBS account :)

Any site should be pretty simple. They all have some sort of "join my league" email invite. Bookmark, save login, done...

Okay, time for an update. Here is my plan as of this morning...

I'm setting up two, 15-team leagues. One is a slow draft and one is a live draft, so people can choose which one they want to play in (first come, first serve). If we need more leagues then I will create them (live draft only) at ESPN.

The league rules will be the same at all leagues, 5X5 Mixed matching the NFBC Satellite rules as closely as possible.

League 1 - DraftBuddy.com Herzog

- run on ESPN league site
- slow draft, starting Friday March 12 at 11:00am Eastern
- ESPN does not have a slow draft option, but we will use Mock Draft Central for the draft and I will import it to ESPN
- 6 hour timer on picks, but turned off over night, and you can pre-select picks to keep the draft moving

League 2 - DraftBuddy.com Dawson

- run on ESPN league site
- live draft, scheduled Wednesday March 17 at 8:15pm Eastern

At this point I need the following from everyone who wants to play:

1. Which league do you want to be in?

2. What is your draft preference? Following NFBC rules, we'll use a Kentucky Derby Style priority sytem. Here is the exceprt from the rules:

Quote:
4. Setting Kentucky Derby Style (KDS) Preferences

The NFBC will use Kentucky Derby Style (KDS) preferences for draft preferences in NFBC Satellite leagues. All owners can set their Draft Preferences by going to their team on the game website, then going to MY SETTINGS (at the far right) and then pulling down to the link that says DRAFT PREFERENCES. There you will see a list of 1 through 15 in order.

Here's what KDS does: The KDS process allows owners to rank their order of preference for Draft Day, ranking their preferences 1 through 15 BEFORE the leagues are randomly selected. Some owners would rather draft in the middle, if they are selected early in their league; others like to stay near the top and others like to move down to the lower end. KDS allows that if you are fortunate enough. A sample KDS from an owner could look like this: 3, 2, 1, 7, 6, 8, 15, 14, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. If an owner wants the third pick and he is selected No. 1 overall in his league, he would choose 3 as his top option and he would then be moved to third in that league on Draft Day if he were picked first out of the hat. NFBC officials will look at every owner's Draft Preferences after the leagues and orders are randomly selected and then announce the draft orders for each league.

Email me at mike@draftbuddy.com since you probably don't want your KDS preferences known.

I am going to go with the slow draft since that fits my schedule better, although I could do both if we need to make up a person to fill the live draft.

I'll go the slow draft route. With a newborn at home it might be tough to sell an entire night in front my laptop to my wife :)

Mike, I'll email you my KDS preference later tonight.

I hope my choosing the Herzog league doesn't send everyone running for the Dawson league

Thanks.

Corey
