Minnesota Vikings 30, Green Bay Packers 23

Brett Favre didn't look like a soon-to-be 40 year old as he threw for 271 yards and 3 TD without a pick in a Vikings win. More importantly, he did all this while the Vikings normally stellar running game bogged down. Favre made every throw in the Monday night win and proved, on national TV, that he still has the arm to be an elite quarterback in the league. Adrian Peterson struggled to find running room and had only 55 yards on 25 carries. He did salvage his fantasy day with a short touchdown run. Bernard Berrian lived up to his preseason hype with a 6 catch for 75 yard performance that included a 31 yard touchdown. If Favre holds up, Berrian's value could continue to climb as Favre and Berrian develop better chemistry. Remember, Berrian missed most of the preseason with an injury. Sidney Rice also looked smooth running his routes on his way to a 5 catch, 70 yard performance with a TD. Chester Taylor was not much of a factor in the running game but played on a lot of 3rd downs, catching 3 passes for 35 yards. Minnesota's defense was impressive turning in 8 sacks and an interception. Jared Allen is ridiculous.
Aaron Rodgers was just as good as his larger than life predecessor. He threw for 384 yards and 2 TD, with 1 INT. Rodgers was sacked 8 times and faced constant pressure but still turned in a fine performance. He was fearless in the pocket and made excellent decisions for the most part. His offensive line was downright offensive, but sometimes Rodgers held the ball too long looking for a big play instead of checking down, putting some sack responsibility on his own shoulders. Green Bay did fall behind early and pretty much abandoned the run, although the Vikings stud run D probably also had something to do with that. Ryan Grant gained 51 yards on 11 carries but was able to turn in a good fantasy day as he added 4 catches for 50 yards. The Pack's second year tight end, Jermichael Finley, turned in a monster game with 6 catches, 128 yards, and a TD. Coming out party? Greg Jennings continued his somewhat disappointing start to the season with just 3 catches for 31 yards.
